Update: I reinstalled xbmc, and added sources and playlists again. Now everything works the way it should! Mudislander, this is just the perfect skin... I now have 'Documentaries' in the menu, with a submenu to 'Docu series'. Before that I had to add these playlists to the menu separately. Thanks for your help, and all your effort.

still lost on playlists lol
on my pc i have separate folders for music, movies, music concerts, kids movies and comedy dvds. i want to add them to xbmc and have home menu folders for all of them , so far all movies and concerts get mixed up in the one folder and iv no idea how you do these lists, im a noob and sorry if this aint the place to post this

Okay, The only content that needs to be in separate folders are Movies, TVShows & Music Videos also Music.
What is important is that you set the correct content for each source. So the sources or folders for your Movies, Kids Movies & Comedy DVDs will all have the content type "Movies" Your folder or source for Music Concerts needs to be set to content type "Music Videos" and obviously TVShows needs to be set to TVShows
Then you need to update your library so XBMC knows what you've got where. After this you'll now have separate Movies, TVshows & Concerts which will automatically show up in the respective main menu buttons.
You want to take your setup a step further & the easiest way to do that is using smart playlists. There are some preset playlists included with the MOD for things like "Childrens Movies", "Comedy" etc which you could use, but they are based on Genre. You'll probably want more control than that so you'll have to set up your own playlists. go into the "Videos" button on the Main Menu then go up a level until you get to the list that has Files, Playlists, Video Addons etc in it. go into playlists and press the button for "New Playlist" There you can set the rules for the playlist eg only movies from your "Kids Movie folder" or what ever
Once that is done go to Skin Settings --> Home Menu and add an item for Playlist(Videos) which will allow you to select the playlist you want.

Hey Mudislander, how does one change "recent albums" to "recently ADDED albums" in the home menu, above music? My recently added albums are far from recent :-) Somewhere in an xml file?

I am working my way through it and first off a thanks to you "Mudislander" for spending the time and effort on bringing this mod skin to us.
A couple of things are bothering me and jezzzz I have spent some time on them and I know if pointed in the right direction I will sort it out.
K.. good points are:
1: Fonts - I have had to play with these and this is outside the scope of the skin as its to do with the ability to read Chinese characters sets.
Yesterday I played with a ton of fonts that would look good with the English as main language and Chinese for Sub-Titles and also within the ad-ons I have that are Chinese. - for the female visitors ;-).. So I have this sorted.. Will post to the XBMC subtitles thread on that once I get time.
K.. now this is where I am getting stuck, for the life of me I can not set the directories where art is suppose to be.
I mean.. I have worked out some of it.. in that I know that I am to hang out here..
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\skin.confluence.custom.mod
and set folders, which I have done and are working..
but..
I had to do this as I was screwing around with the settings and pointed it to where I thought all the artwork would be..
i.e like this.. (NAS) 192....\Music\... but as it turns out thats not a good thing to do.. I only got a black background (i,.e no fanart showing)
So I had a look in to the ... C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\thumbs
and see a ton of directories with artwork in.. but not the ones I want and also pointing to this doesnt work either.. ends up with the black background.
also as a note I have done this..

Can someone post their "advancedsettings.xm" that has it all in seperate directories so that I can get an idea of what to make.
As really once I do this new upgrade of the skin, I need to sort this out, as it will eventually lead me to the setup I will have for a MySQL sharedDB for all machines running the same skin and throughout the house. (Android and Windows)

Do you know how it is when you're positive you've done something - but when you go and check, it hasn't been done
Thought I'd changed Recent Albums across to script.skin.widgets but when I checked to find the code for you - it's still running off internal XBMC labels.I will be changing that for next update but if you want to play around with it open up "IncludesHomeWidget.xml" and look for

@dgcruzing I haven't used MYSQL to share XBMC database since it was first documented, too slow for me. So I'm not much help in setting that up. Re the fanart if set to local directories should end up in the folder with the actual movie.
You'd probably get more help between the MYSQL & Artwork Downloader forums than I can give you

Just before I started clicking I had a hot pic of Mary-Louise Parker from Weeds as my Tvshow back ground.
and once I lost that I was devastated..

Default background for TVShows is to rotate through the fanarts in the database - will come back as the MOD seems to pick it's own favourites.

Ok so after playing around some more I've found one more little request I'd like to add...
I think this should be a fairly easy one to do, in fact I thought I was just about to do some research on how to call the function and add it myself but then I thought I'd save some time and just ask the experts! In the pictures sub-menu would it be possible to add a slideshow option which just calls the random slideshow function? I like to use kiosk mode when I set things up for old folks but it does mean the only way you can get a slideshow is by using the context menu and it's not very user friendly.
Also, I know it's asking a lot but I could really do with two more editable sub-menu's as I've used all of them up now and could do with one for my Sports section and on my HTPC I'd like to add a Games section too (although for that I'll either need to get rid of an existing menu or work out how to add another home menu item lol).
