RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - Jeffers24 - 2016-10-03

Feel a bit daft having to ask this question as I know the answer must be soooo simple I cannot think of it Sleepy

I am running Kodi 16.1 on an Android platform using an air mouse.

Everything working, playing a channel, want to exit addon and get back to top level Kodi menu.

Press return and TV Guide is displayed with channel playing in the background, press return again TV Guide disappears, keep pressing return and I am stuck in the loop of channel keeps playing and TV Guide displaying and disappearing on each return.

How do I exit the addon?

It is a new feature. Smile

There are two Settings in Appearance now:
"Stop Playing on Exit" : which will stop playing on exit Wink
"Exit on Back From EPG" : which will keep you in the TV Guide ForEver. Smile unless you turn it off.

It made sense to me but it is not the usual behaviour.

Have a look in Settings \ Help \ Command Keys to see what else is there. I try to keep it up to date but it might not be.

Thanks for response, hopefully change can be made so that when the back key is pressed and TV Guide being displayed it can exit the addon.

The url you included is not displaying correctly and I can't see the relevance of it?

Our posts crossed.

Just tested it and it works perfectly, once you know it's an option and set it, no need for anything else for me.

Pressing back key twice now gets me out of the addon Smile

The logic behind it is that if you want to quickly flip between full epg and watching tv you can do that with one button: Back.

If you want to get out of the TV Guide you can use the Escape button.

The context menu button now actually brings up the Context Menu from everywhere. Wink

The Quit button has returned to the Context Menu so you can Quit on a touch screen device.

All the Lists are in the Lists button on the Menu for touch devices too.

The Categories sub menu now has options to Add / Remove channels.

What is the Categories sub menu, how do I access it using an air mouse running on an android box (not touch)?

First you need to Add Category in the Context Menu.

Then right click on the Category you just added. Maybe it's a long press on touch devices.

You should get a menu with Add Channels, Remove Channels, Clear Channels.

If there are no channels in a category that category won't show up the next time you open the tv guide.
They don't get removed straight away in case you change your mind.

I have allocated a stream to a channel and all working good.

How can I see the details of a stream I have added to a channel?

Was it a Favourite, which Addon and option within the addon etc.

So I can review my allocations and change them if I think I now have a better stream.

There is nothing that you can easily see in the addon.

You can go round the back and look in the database in the custom_stream_url table with something like this:
http://sqlitebrowser.org/

It would be a lot of work to link the channel back to the stream visually in the addon.
I don't have the energy to do that.

You Should be able to achieve this easily within the skin files. Add an label control to the OSD with this code:

<label>$INFO[Player.Filenameandpath]</label>

I haven't tested this, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

EDIT: Just tested, it works.

EDIT 2: However, it will show you the URL and not add-on path.

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - hydraSlav - 2016-10-06

I've installed the TV Guide and used the Addon.ini Creator that you have to create the addon.ini file (YouTube playlists, Food Network addon, etc)

Then on the main addon configuration, I've specified the location of addon.ini, however it fails to start with "It was not possible to load program data, because the settings are invalid"

I believe this has something to do with xmltv file. But I don't need the EPG information for some channels, I just want to watch my YouTube playlists. I thought this addon allowed you to do so. Is there a "blank" xmltv file that someone can create?

This is just a plain vanilla TV Guide (with some powerful extra features).

If you want to play playlists as a channel you need PseudoTV Live. It can play normal xmltv tv channels too.

If it shows me my selection, addon name/stream name within the addon, when I linked the channel in the guide to a stream that's what I was looking for.

Where is this database? I have looked in Kodi>addons and Kodi>User data>addon_data and can't find it?
