Sure, i like it very much. I think that this must be added as an option into the skin configuration settings (display weather info on all menus) and may be that the fading effect too...

keep in mind my specs. i dont know how much this will stress a system
( especially with animated weather + videoOSD at the same time )

a toggle would be awesome... any tips on how 1 would go about setting it up ?

i've configured Y-key to be sent by my remote and added

<y>XBMC.ReloadSkin</y>

to the <keyboard> section of my modified keyboard.xml. i'm sure something similar can be done for updating databases, since they can be triggered by a button onscreen. my further guess is you can't assign multiple actions that need to be executed one after the other to a single keystroke (in our case update video database, then update music database), so you might need to assign 2 buttons on your remote for each action.

i'd say <key_to_use>XBMC.UpdateLibrary(video)</key_to_use> and <key_to_use>XBMC.UpdateLibrary(music)</key_to_use> should work.

I've had her at the breaking point a few times with all the changes I make to the Media Center and also how much time I spend on the laptop modding at home.....so now I do most of my modding at work haha Big Grin

mine is not even willing to learn the keys on the mce remote, so i can change what i like and when i like - until she wants to watch a movie ofcourse. but if then something does not work as it is supposed to, i have a worst case scenario - then she's yelling at me "damned, you've spent the whole week on that crap instead of having some time for me and the kids - and now i cannot even watch that film?!?" ok, back to topic & i hope i can ask something.

maybe i should ask jezze_x.. but you might know it, too. if i would like to have the ability to create a switch in the skin settings screen of another skin, which enables/disables a certain entry in the home screeen submenu, like i.e. i would like to turn on/off year selection display on music submenu - which of the xml files are affected to get this running?

i ask because i see these switches here in this skin and would like to adopt that feature for aeon. and yes, i would like to learn how to do stuff instead of asking for it to be done Wink

Want to try and stick the MPAA rating where the imdb stars are (at least on info wrap)? Also maybe place the studio logo at the send of the flagging string?

I'm not sure what DJH has named the xml files for Aeon, but for Redux, you'd want to look at these -
custom_SkinSetting_1111.xml (the skin settings screen)
home.xml (for the menus/submenus)

You have stars in Info Wrap view? Huh

Can you post a screenshot of your Info Wrap view? I only have stars in Poster Wrap.

I'd like to add the studio at the end of flagging, but I'm going to need all the logos, you got em? Wink

Ok not the stars but the text IMDB rating sorry.

You can steal the studio flags from Aeon Smile

Thats what I will do. Then do a batch resize with photoshop or whatever. Im at work right now so I dont have much for tools. If you do not get to it by the time I get home I will take a look.

Ok gotcha. I'm just really flip-flopping on how to do the MPAA rating. Should it be text or should it be the logo?
If it is text, that could be one long-ass scrolling line depending on the info that's pulled in. (Not for me though cuz I used mixed Nfo's with the mpaa set to only show the Rating letters Big Grin

).
If it's just the logo, should it go down at the bottom with the other ones?

I've been thinking about possibly changing the Info Wrap layout and making a new view with it, but I'm bad with the design aspect. Anyone got some mockups, that would make it so easy haha

I like the MPAA logo. On tis page I think there are some examples of where I preerfed the location of it. I cant see the images since my job blocks them. But I think they are on here under my posts on this page. haha

We also need to note that imdb does not scrape lots of MPAA ratings. This is due to it having "certificatons" listed instead of MPAA ratings. So I just do a lot of them myself by throwing in Rated R into the nfo file. Unless you can get it to include certifications somehow if MPAA is not listed. Way beyond me for that one.

No blocked images for me.....I use my XBMC HTPC at home as a web/SSH/proxy and have a domain registered with DynDNS. So I just SSH to my domain, then do all my DNS lookups through a localhost session. Nod
