Can you point me to script in question and have me modify it to output the path to all home screen fan art? I tried tuning on debug logging, but it's not enough. EDIT: I honestly don't know if this helps, but I've been comparing values from the log and text in the DB. I was lucky enough to get a very recognisable fan art load and went looking for it in the on the TheTVDB to get their show ID and URL to help search the logs. I found the image and then looked for it in the logs to see if it was logged; it was logged but as a failed load, so I'm guessing it's trying multiple times to get the image. I know many of you are anxiously awaiting the release of the Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Danvers Preview) for Krypton and I don't blame you because Krypton has a "smoothness" that I have heard described for a long time that no one can seem to put their finger on. I made a few critical decisions yesterday so that the first release of the Danvers Preview gets into your hands before the end of this month. The first of those decisions: the Home Screen Icons for the Horizontal Menu (current default) will be disabled permanently in Jarvis and temporarily in the Krypton release preview until everything is reorganized. The second decision: the Anniversary Home Screen (the new default if everyone likes it) will not be included until later in the Danvers' Preview. Don't worry, for those of you who prefer the classic current horizontal layout, a simple button will toggle the two views but I have a feeling that hopefully everyone likes the new home screen. The third decision: the updated font resources intended to support the Anniversary Home Screen will be implemented globally and we'll fine-tune that as progress through suggestions and ideas. The skin will be slightly larger than normal during this time as the classic fonts will remain until everything is moved over. Finally, the fourth decision: @minus0 has been working extremely hard on the new settings page for the Krypton release. It's not done which means items are obviously not going to all work as intended but to get AZ:FA on Krypton out the door it will be a work-in-progress. I have a feeling you'll like a lot of the new design elements it brings; from the preview images I have seen I know I do. So, to stick with the original plan: unless you find some completely breaking bug in AZ:FA on Jarvis the next update will be the end of the line for the Jarvis releases as originally intended and all efforts will be put forth to Krypton. It is difficult to see which episodes have been seen and which ones haven't. That's a matter of adding new textures (a little secret for everyone: even though Krypton has new textures, both Jarvis and Krypton share the same texture resource package). So say. swapping out the watch indicators is a matter of copy and pasting the texture package which can be done. Fixing the horizontal screen on the other hand when it is using icons on a version of Kodi that's about to be superseded doesn't make sense (too much time wasted). I also did mention their might be a new home screen used as default in Krypton but first I have to post it to get feedback on whether it's worth developing entirely. The file you are downloading is the correct one. Of the three major versions (AZ:FA, Braz, and the Original by Jurialmonkey), AZ:FA is the largest and most resource intensive of the group (but it runs on a Raspberry Pi 3 just fine so obviously not that intensive). Comparing the three, AZ:FA has the most features but all three have their own direction and any of the three are a good choice. If you are looking for the "1MB" version it means you are looking for the Original. Please look at Jurialmonkey's sticky thread at the top of the forums for the Original Arctic Zephyr. RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton - Update Soon) [3.2.21 / 4.0.01] - Guardian Hope - 2016-07-23 We're Working on Krypton A little progress update. So the "stand-in" settings being used until the new settings are ready have been added (not pictured). I just wanted to give everyone a status update of where we are in terms of getting things on Krypton and to say it's been a struggle from scheduling issues to all the changes that need to be done is the understatement of the day. Right now, as you can see, the skin is throwing a lot of exceptions with the Skin Shortcuts Script but the log indicates a malformed <news> tag in the Skin Shortcuts Script addon.xml which makes absolutely no sense given that Skin.Shortcuts is also being used on another Krypton skin I use without issues. Similarly, as you can see from the images, none of the fanart or images load in yet. My personal favorite however is that currently you cannot play any media (it will act like it's launching and playing but it isn't). So there's a lot of issues to be tracked down still and changes to be made based on the changes to the Krypton Skinning Engine before AZ:FA Danvers Preview (Alpha 1) is released but it's definitely being worked on. If you're actually bold enough to download the currently broken version of the skin from GitHub (https://github.com/NortheBridge/skin.arctic.zephyr.fromashes/tree/4.0.20-dev ), do submit fixes you made and please either post here or in the pull request so you can be properly credited. In the interim, it will take some time before AZ:FA is on Krypton just due to scheduling time conflicts but I do promise it's coming. However, this weekend I am taking a break from skinning to work on the official AZ:FA website and get it published for both Jarvis and Krypton. I tested both on a rpi3 and on my local windows test environment and cannot find any indicators in list view or other views when for example browsing youtube or twitch content. Here is a screenshot of where i am "searching" for them: watch gallery
It is quite impossible to see which shows I have already seen and which are new. =( I guess the problem is on my side because in several releases you talked about watched indicators being reverted to the old ones and so on, so I guess I simply cannot find them. Could you hint me to where I can enable them? What you are missing are the "Watch Indicators" in the "List View" mode for the YouTube addon and I am [assuming] a Twitch addon? What you are not experiencing is the indicators not showing up when browsing the "normal" Kodi Library (i.e. content on your NAS, HDD, server, from Emby etc.). If this is the case it was classified into a group of bugs afflicting the "Addon Experience" and won't be fixed until some point during the Krypton preview releases. Now, if you are having issues with the indicators not showing up when browsing the "normal" Kodi Library, than I will brush over the code and textures on Jarvis. There is going to be one more Jarvis release to update the indicators again and disable an option that will return in Krypton. When the transition begun for this skin to move to Krypton it was broken down into sections:
With the transition to Krypton, the only thing that's going to be looked after on Jarvis is Core and User Experience. This will all be explained on the published website in several days - far more easier to understand than when I try to type it in a forum post. Danvers Preview (Alpha 1) for Krypton
I hinted at this earlier but I did want to make it clear, within the next several days the first release of the Danvers Preview will be released a long with a repo solely for all things AZ:FA. There is one major thing to note: 3 systems with two different results. One Windows 10 Kodi 17 install, AZ:FA was not usable. On another, it works. It works on Android. So the following disclaimer is attached to the release I will be posting soon: ARCTIC ZEPHYR: FROM ASHES (DANVERS PREVIEW) ALPHA 1 FOR KRYPTON IS PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE DESIGNED TO RUN ON A PRE-RELEASE VERSION OF KODI. SOME OR ALL FUNCTIONALITY MAY NOT WORK. THE DANVERS PREVIEW ALPHA 1 RELEASE MAY BE UNSTABLE OR LEAD TO A COMPLETELY INOPERABLE KODI INSTALLATION UNLESS YOU REMOVE THE ADDON BY MANUALLY DELETING THE ADDON FOLDER. EMBY FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY ARE LIMITED AND MAY NOT WORK. IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH TESTING SUCH EARLY PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE, PLEASE CONTINUE TO USE ARCTIC ZEPHYR: FROM ASHES FOR KODI JARVIS. Actually, ONLY Jarvis, not Krypton at all. I hold back on using Krypton because I use a certain LiveTV PVR that's not updated for Krypton yet. But everything else is right, the indicators DO show up on regular NAS and Movie sections, just not on third party youtube and twitch addons. Thanks for the clarification about it being a bug related to "Addon experience" which will be fixed in Krypton (Which I will hopefully be using soon when the PVR Addon gets some Krypton love ) RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Coming Soon) [3.2.21] - licnexus - 2016-07-24 Hello, i can't have múltiple backgrounds in the skin, i selected this folder /storage/wall/ For having a wallper slideshow in menús that i HAVEN'T ser a widget, but is not working is there a fix for this? Also when i try to add múltiple backgrounds to certain menú it just wants to add it from a repository, not local place RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Coming Soon) [3.2.21] - pwriesnik - 2016-07-24 I'm really looking forward to a more stable version of krypton to then try out your great do-over of this skin. It is the by far best looking imo. Keep up the awesome work! |
