@jphellemons, can you try from the iphone safari to connect to xbmc with the same information used in the app:
http://<username>:<password>@<xbmc_ip>:<xbmc_port>
and see if it connects to the xbmc web interface?
@merino, the project is hosted on github ( github.com/joethefox ). The versions aren't tagged, but you can browse backward the commits where in the comments was wrote the new app version. Do you have any issue so you are looking for old versions?

Tried this but cannot get it to work.
It looks an awesome app. I have had to move away from rowmote because I hate NitoTV and it needs that to install. Well! After numerous problems and SSH log in programs caused by Nito. I am running a stripped down ATV2.
I have Zeroconf enable in Systems>Settings/Network.
Have entered IP of ATV2 and Port 8080. xbmc as user name with no password but app will not find xbmc even without any settings.
MAC Address should that be for the router or the ATV2? I tried with ATV2 MAC address taken from Network and still no joy.
I know I'm probably doing something really basic wrong.
Please help!

MAC address is for the ATV2, and it is oly used to wake the PC from sleep, if the PC supports that. What are your settings in XBMC under services\Webserver?

Allow control of XBMC via uPNP - UNCHECKED
Allow control of XBMC via HTTP - CHECKED
- Port 9777 (tried 8080, 8888 and other suggestions on the post)
- Username xbmc
-Password xbmc (tried blank also)
Web interface - Default
Allow program on this system to control XBMC - CHECKED
Allow programs on other systems to control XBMC - UNCHECKED
Announce these services to other systems via Zeroconf - CHECKED
Allow XBMC to receive Airplay content - CHECKED
-Use password protection - UNCHECKED
I'M A COMPLETE TIT!
Presumably it would help if I had my iPhone connected to the same wireless network.
I'll try this and I am sure it will work flawlessly.

@warrmr, sorry if I've confused you: what I want to say, is that if in XBMC GUI you have banners configured then you can leave "Prefer posters for tv shows" disabled on the remote app. If you have posters configured in XBMC GUI then enable "Prefer posters for tv shows" in the remote app.
Once in XBMC GUI the posters or banners are well configured, try the remote app after clearing the thumbnails cache.

Hi all after some advice I've installed Xbmcremote on my iPhone 4s I've the latest version Eden of xbmc installed on windows 7
I've followed the guide but I can't get the remote to work
I've ticked the correct options on xbmc
Ip is 192.168.1.10
Port 8080
Left my username as xbmc
Left password blank
When I put all the details in including mac address
I tick the server but nothing happens please help

It took me a little while to figure it out but I got it sorted in the end but managed to figure it out here is what I did to fix it.
1. Make sure that the skin is setup correctly :-
System --> Skin --> General Settings --> Use "Posters" instead of "Banners" for TV-Shows = UNCHECKED
2. Make sure that the TV-Show Scraper is setup correctly :-
System --> Addons --> Enabled Addons --> TV Information --> TheTVDB --> Configure --> Prefer Posters = UNCHECKED
3. Refresh TV-Show Information for the shows that have missing/stretched thumbnails :-
TV Shows --> Right-Click --> TV Show Information --> Refresh --> All Episodes = YES --> Ignore & Refresh = YES --> Select Show and wait for download to complete
On the iPhone,
Clear XBMC app cache and re launch.
All is working as expected now thanks for the help.

Firstly, thanks for this great app! By far the best remote for iOS.
I was hoping that in the next update you could add an "instant replay" (minus 10seconds) function to the back button like in the android official app.
Also, why are some file names renamed in the app but not on my machine (when I'm using the browse folders/files option)? Is there a way to prevent this automatic renaming in the app?

When requesting music or video files (depending the section), it's XBMC that returns those names. I've to investigate if there are some tweaks that can be done.

I am using Eden 11, from an iPhone,
When we go to nfo details of a movie a search window is appearing to search the Movie title, if i insert some movie name and click done also, It will show movie not found and the search window is still there, I cannot go back, I cannot exit from the screen, All i need to do a restart or connect a key board, I you require the screen shots I can give it after 6 hrs from now

Ok, seems clear the steps to reproduce the issue. When the remote app stops responding, are you in the remote control view?
My suspect is that we are under that bug http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11213. I need to deeper investigate and I will keep you informed.
