RE: After Watch - BigBillSD - 2024-08-23

(2024-08-23, 10:16)AnonTester Wrote: The afterwatch log entries look like they're the standard logging for it. Did you set afterwatch to debug log as well? Also, can you confirm what delay you set in your afterwatch config?

Lastly, to better understand how you use kodi and where this issue happens, what exactly are you doing when you pause one episode and go to another? Are you fully stopping the episode, then select another and watch that or are you selecting a different episode while the first one is still playing in the background or in pause mode?
Yes, both kodi & AW logging was set to debug.  Delay is set to 0 seconds.
I just pause that first episode. Not stopping it, so its paused. But its no where near its percentage watched to delete it.

Is pressing the Square button what you mean by stopping it?   -Bill

I have a strong suspicion I know what's causing this bug.

Could you do two tests please:

1.) Set the delay to 2 seconds and see if that makes any difference.
2.) rather than pausing the first episode, stop it (square button), then select other episode.

I don't need new logs for these tests, just the results.

Set delay to 2 seconds.   Nothing changed, it wanted to delete the first episode I had paused.

# 2 worked.  It wanted to delete the correct show. I had set the delay back to 0 again prior to testing #2 a second time.    So I must use the Stop button or really pay attention after watching a show?

That's what I thought. I think when you only pause an episode and then start the next, you're effectively adding the second to the current playlist. I was hoping the delay setting would give kodi time to update things and afterwatch would be able to pick the last episode, however, afterwatch stores the details of the first episode, then waits for the stop or end trigger and misses the switch of episodes completely. So when you finish one episode eventually, it'll prompt for the very first one.

This is clearly unintended behaviour and a bug. I'll need to dig into the code (been a couple of years) and try to come up with a way to avoid this.

Until then, you need to be carful and change how you switch episodes to using the stop button.

Thanks for checking it out.  It seemed like a bug to me.  I will have to change my habits till I see an update.  This add-on really needs to be in the official repo!  Thanks Again!  -Bill

Any update yet?   I need to download the file again and unbelievable having trouble finding it again so I figured i would ask if there was a newer version.   Beats me why its so difficult to find the zip file..

OMG.  20 minutes and I still cannot find the 1.3.0 zip file...  I am thinking I was on my laptop when working on this and its locked up in the motorhome out in a storage lot.  Unbelievable I cannot find your repository URL in this thread...
