RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - lovemachine - 2019-03-02 Speaking of the Vertical home screen (always my way of doing AZ)... FEATURE REQUEST: To reduce confusion for the casual users in my house, would there be any chance of an option to have the Submenu choices to automatically appear, say off to the left of the Main Menu? Steal a bit of widget space so that the wife and kids don't have to constantly ask where recorded PVR shows vs the guide are. They don't seem to be able to remember to push left to open the submenu choices. I don't know if making that feasible would take away too much space from Widgets, causing a funky decentered appearance. If this is only a problem for my use case scenario, I understand. As has been said by a billion before, thanks again JM for your work on keep this skin not only alive, but improved. Still patiently waiting to upgrade to Leia until AZ2 is released. Well, Aura was always intended to be mash-up of AZ and Horizon, so there are always going to be similarities. But yeah, I'm a bit concerned that they are converging a little too much. Underneath AZ2 is much simpler and so should be much faster. Aura has a lot of taxing things like complex widgets handling, gradient colour effects, and uses multiple layers to achieve particular effects on the background artwork and on posters. It also more complex animation effects (like the bounce effect on focus items). There aren't any of these things in AZ2. Even for vertical home, the widget options are limited to 3 widgets per item and the way the widgets are handled is much simpler. In AZ2 the background is just the white bg layer with a colordiffuse, then the fanart faded over the top (I've actually removed layers that were in AZ1). And don't worry about the blur effect - that is completely optional and only available if you choose to install the colorbox addon. I'm trying to minimise the amount of optional variations to keep the complexity down, whilst also providing options to disable things that people don't use. Hopefully this will help to keep it speedy. RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - jurialmunkey - 2019-03-03 -- RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Kokonutcreme - 2019-03-03 I prefer the simpler style without the icon, library count and sorting method as well as the simpler temperature and time layout without the date. Only 28 degrees where you are JM, it's 37 in Melbourne at the moment and supposedly we're in autumn. After using it for a bit, I think I agree that the simpler style is nicer. The extra info feels a bit unnecessary, particularly when I'm trying to make things simpler and cleaner. It's actually cooled down a fair bit the last week. The humidity is gross here in Sydney though! Edit: FWIW, I always used vertical with symbols/icons in Menu. So I would be happy if you keep the option. Dude, it's really no criticism of your talents. Just worried that by pandering to the whims of everyone who comments you're losing sight of what made A:Z great in the first place. Just my opinion. Also, will you be including the Spotlight Homescreen view from the original A:Z? RE: Arctic:Zephyr 2 - olympus - 2019-03-03 (2019-01-27, 11:43)jurialmunkey Wrote: Rather than updating v.1 to Leia, I will be working on this new version going forward.I wouldn't ask about it if AZ2 was a Leia update of AZ1. Is AZ2 going to have mouse support like Aura has? Having 2 of the best looking skins on my mouse controlled HTPC would be awesome @jurialmunkey this is not a request, I totally understand that it's too much work to add support for mouse on an existing skin. I am not requesting anything, I am just a dreamer RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Fredouye - 2019-03-03 Hello jurialmunkey AZ2 looks amazing, I can't wait to try it Could it be possible to display runtime in HHMM format, when using the list view ? Regarding AZ2, do you need help for the French translation, for new items ? Also, for a home cinema setup, smaller fonts and simpler style (away from computer world) is better. I like what I see. Thanks.
