I only can see Dolby vision enable and Dolby vision disable options. Only my test mkvs show black screen. Where did you get your firmware from?

Your tv have to support both (like the lg c9 or cx) then you can choose between the two options

I only have these options for Dolby Vision on actual Ugoos AM6 with 0.40 firmware:

- Dolby vision enable with low latency (YUV)
- Dolby vision disable

And Always on toggle

The only way I can get Dolby Vision to trigger is with always on toggle, and then it’s on all the time. It is probably not handling the DV correctly from the source and instead upscaling from HDR10 base layer.

I don’t know why I don’t get an option for TV led DV. I have a Panasonic GZ1000.
Anyone with similar experience with the Ugoos/Minix?

I have a lg c9 and I can choose tv led and Player led and both trigger dolby vision with this kodi mod. But it is buggy sometimes I have to start a dolby vision mkv movie 3 or 4 time's and seek around before it plays well without stuttering

My device is a ugoos am6 plus

OK it is only on some rips buggy, some work great

Thanks for the info. What about the inbuilt movieplayer does that trigger DV on both and how stable is the playback? Are you also getting Atmos (within TrueHD)?

Also, would you please be able to do a favour and post a photo of what you see in Dolby Vision display settings so I can check with Ugoos why mine does not have the same options?

Update: I was able to get DV to trigger in this Kodi build with display mode “Dolby vision enable with low latency (YUV)” (the only option I have besides DV disabled)
I was stupidly testing with the play store version. However I cannot DV to work at all with the inbuilt movieplayer.
Atmos pass through on Kodi is also unstable and cuts out every few seconds. Atmos works fine in Coreelec.
Coreelec with DV would be ultimate. Really wish they would do a 32 bit build so they can include DV support

Your TV don’t support TV LED Dolby Vision.

Do you know that for a fact or are you speculating based on that I don’t get the TV led option? I thought Panasonic did. In fact I thought Sony was the only OLED that did not support TV led until recently with a firmware update

What tv you have?

What tv you have?

Panasonic GZ1000. I’ve done further research and I’m sure it supports TV led DV. Vincent Teoh from HDTV test mentioned it in a video and also that Dolby Vision IQ cannot work with player led. GZ1000 supports DV IQ so must support TV
I wonder if there’s a bug in Ugoos firmware where it’s either not detecting correctly or showing player-led option only but it actually means TV led

So, I have the Minix Neo U22-XJ, I have flashed the Ugoos firmware and installed the 32bit Kodi from the homepage, haven’t done a lot of testing but DV is triggering from all mkv files, thank you.

Will do some full film tests over the weekend.

Slightly OT, can someone PM me a link how to dual boot Corelec and Ugoos Android firmware on the Minix please?

Thank you

Thanks, will try it.

Tried a full movie last night on the Mininx/Ugoos - They live.

I did a straight rip with Makemkv and the FEL presentation and Atmos surround was a delight, really good.

Bugs... after about 10 minutes I had a screen resynch but the movie recovered, then again about 52 mins I had a resynch but after that it was slightly glitchy (frame skips) so I paused the movie and started it again and it was fine till the end of the movie.

On pressing stop it didn’t unload back to the Kodi interface (best guess Dolby decoder froze, seen this on other devices) until I long pressed the power button (idk).

Overall this is the device, if the manufacturers can officially support this project we will have a winner 👍🏼

i can recommend the "maven matrix builds", with it dolby vision works with the nv shield, and with the fire tv cube hd-sounds as multichannel/pcm.
