RE: State of Kodi Media Players: Best Options in 2024 - faust1103 - 2024-06-19

Hi,

I ordered an Ugoos AM6B+ from AliExpress to suse with Coreelec.

I heard that the included remote isn't too good.

I really like the remote of my Nvidia Shield Pro 2019. Is it possible to pair an extra Shield remote with the Ugoos AM6B+?
Maybe using Flirc?

If it is not possible what other remote (similar to the Shield one) would you recommend?
Thanks.

You can pair any bluetooth remote you want. I'm using the backlit amazon fire tv pro remote since its the only one that auto reconnects with a button press. The app launch buttons doesn't work but not a problem. For buttons that don't work follow this thread if needed.

Can the Amazon Fire TV Remote start the Ugoos AM6B+ from stand-by in Bluetooth mode?

If by start, you mean wake up the box/CE, yes.

Thanks a lot for the confirmation.

Then I will probably get an amazon fire tv remote for the Ugoos AM6B+.

The Nividia Shield remote cannot wake up the Ugoos AM6B+/CE then?

No Bluetooth is disconnected in standby. ir wakeup can only work from the ugoos remote since bootloader is encrypted. You can change ir wakeup code on the minix since bootloader not encrypted.

Hi,

But then how can the amazon fire tv remote wake up the Ugoos AM6B+?

My Ugoos with CE is never off, but it goes to sleep. Pressing back, directional or another button on paired Amazon remote wakes it up.

Got it, thanks.
Do you know whether this would also work with the Nvidia Shield 2019 remote?

Don't see why not.

RE: State of Kodi Media Players: Best Options in 2024 - swarzn - 2024-06-29

Hi, i am looking for a media player to watch streams on kodi.
If i won't be using Dolby Vision and will only be streaming from addons would an Ugoos AM6B+ or a cube 3 be better?
If there is any better option around that price what would you recommend?
Thanks

Many options for video add-on streaming, especially as you don't need DV. Android TV variant (Google TV, Fire TV), CoreELEC, LibreELEC on a miniPC, Windows... endless options. Depends what type of box & OS you prefer.

Not sure if anyone asked before.
Do the Homatics Box R 4K Plus and Dune models operate on a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system?
for years, Amlogic has been providing a 32-bit Android OS, meaning that 64-bit apps (armv8a) cannot be installed.

I am guessing the S905X4-K is 64-bit, but Dune/Homatics Box R 4K Plus new model come with 64-bit OS?
Amlogic has been delivering Android OS in 32-bit. Which meant that despite the chips' 64-bit capacity, they were unable to support the installation of modern 64-bit applications.

RE: State of Kodi Media Players: Best Options in 2024 - hdmkv - 2024-07-08

Those only support 32-bit apps AFAIK. Only Android TV platform I'm aware of with 64-bit OS & app support is nVidia Shield TV.
