RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - Matt Devo - 2015-05-01 (2015-05-01, 19:25)cavemandaveman Wrote: I made a new OpenELEC install media on a different usb stick following the link from the chromebox wiki but still nothing starting about 2s after power on, hit ESC a handful of times (eg, 3x, 1s apart), then hit 2 once. Do you have another monitor available to test? Even using a HDMI->DVI adapter would be fine RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - HarryMohan - 2015-05-01 (2015-05-01, 16:38)Matt Devo Wrote:(2015-05-01, 16:15)HarryMohan Wrote:(2015-04-29, 23:44)Matt Devo Wrote: It will only power on from suspend, not full off. Thank you, I should have seen that in wiki, thanks again works perfect. I was just wondering, if I was to install kodibuntu, would I be able to run something like transmission with automatic and download torrents to a NAs ? I am tying to install addon, I was able to get in with Putty but was not sure where and how to drop the file in right place. How can I do that via OpenElec? Can you please direct me to right thread. Thanks PS: Noticed I have 20% warning, what did I do? Plenty of info on the OE/Kodi wiki pages on SMB shares and manual installation of add-ons RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - HarryMohan - 2015-05-03 (2015-05-03, 21:16)Matt Devo Wrote:(2015-05-03, 21:13)HarryMohan Wrote: I need help on that subject too. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - gshodg - 2015-05-04 My system now hangs, after reboot, at the screen with the Kodi logo and version number (v14.2 helix) - and I can never access the Kodi interface. Log files are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/scn1ldux0rp3y3a/AAAHoOQpVEggnvpCzbOJ1H5-a?dl=0 I'm not sure how next to proceed to get back OpenElec 5.0.8/Kodi 14.2 stable version, any suggestions? What led to this I had installed another version of the OpenElec 5.0.8 that allowed dual audio output. That didn't do quite what I wanted http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=192480&pid=1988467#pid1988467 so I wanted to go back to the stable version I've been successfuly using (OpenElec 5.0.8/Kodi 14.2) The installation of the other version, and attempt to revert back, was done via the add-on OpenElec Dev Update https://ls80.github.io/script.openelec.devupdate/ When I re-installed the 5.0.8 it said it was already installed and didn't remove the dual-audio feature. So I used this add on to install the latest build (15.0 beta 1) and then used it again to revert back to the official 5.0.8 stable build. And now the system hangs on the Kodi logo screen. What I've tried so far 1. Reboot a few times - it always hangs at the Kodi logo screen 2. Tried to reinstall OpenElec 5.0.8 by downloading the tar file putting it in the update folder, and then reboot - it always hangs at the same place - RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - Matt Devo - 2015-05-04 standalone? reinstall from USB. dual boot? boot ChromeOS and reinstall via the script. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - Soli - 2015-05-05 Just chiming in with my experiences regarding booting from usb sticks. This is with a HP. All sticks are pretty standard usb 2.0 sticks. Usb stick 1: boots from all usb ports. Usb stick 2: boots only from the upper port in the back. Usb stick 3: does not boot at all. YGPM RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - Living Legend - 2015-05-05 So everything was working fine until I got home today. Went to power up the TV and hit an infite reboot loop. I'm currently using a dual boot openelec+chromeOS. I'd get to the screen that says Kodi v. etc. and then it would flash off and then reboot back to that screen infinitely. I did a complete reinstall and things were up and running again. But I've discovered the problem. I did an SCP into openelec and added the advancedsettings.xml file, and now I'm getting the infinite reboot loop. This was a direct copy of my XML file that is being used on all of my clients. For some reason, it's not working on Kodi/Chromebox and won't allow me to boot. Ideas? RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - Living Legend - 2015-05-05 I removed advancedsettings.xml again, went in and added time on the wait for network to connect configuration. Now after doing the reboot 3-4 times I'm frozen at Kodi v 14.2-Helix screen. I have a very basic XML file too. <advancedsettings> <videodatabase> <type>mysql</type> <host>192.168.1.3</host> <port>3306</port> <user>*******</user> <pass>*******</pass> </videodatabase> <musicdatabase> <type>mysql</type> <host>192.168.1.3</host> <port>3306</port> <user>******</user> <pass>*******</pass> </musicdatabase> <videolibrary> <importwatchedstate>true</importwatchedstate> <importresumepoint>true</importresumepoint> </videolibrary> </advancedsettings> RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - Matt Devo - 2015-05-05 so if you ssh in and rename it, it boots fine? sounds like an issue for either the OE folks or the Kodi Linux support section, not hardware RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/04/27] - Living Legend - 2015-05-05 (2015-05-05, 07:15)Matt Devo Wrote: so if you ssh in and rename it, it boots fine? sounds like an issue for either the OE folks or the Kodi Linux support section, not hardware Well I actually can't SSH into it now because I can't get it to boot. But if I reinstall using the script there will no longer be the advancedsettings.xml file. Without that file, we boot fine. It's just odd that it was originally working fine, and then one day when I try to boot, it won't. EDIT: Another question. If I can't get in to openelec, what do I need to do to be able to ssh into my chromebox so I can view the log file? |
