Hi Great skin!
Started using it couple of days ago, and looks promising.
The only thing missing for me, and I thought you can tell me how to do it is I want to have shelf items for the custom menu items.
For example, I create a custom menu called MUSIC and have a shelf with items like: YouTube, karaoke etc. in the same way that you can choose the shelf items in the addons menu.

Thanks!

P.S - I don't mind editing the xml manually and set it up once. I don't change addons that much.
Although having the same menu as the ones for fixing the addons shelf.

EDITED: Found another issue - Helix supports multiple keyboards languages now but I can't find how to switch them in Amber.

Thanks a lot

Ron

Some bugs have been fixed on github, some have been pulled by Pecinko, i've asked for the skin to be included for Helix as its working fine.

As there are not many changes on the skin part for v15 it should work fine there too.

Hello everybody..

At first I would like to express my gratefulness to Pecinko. Thank you Sir, you are an artist!

If I knew how to do it my skin would look just like yours. I found myself nodding all the time when I read your statements in this thread regarding design principles and your focus in general.

I'm already happy with my GUI now. There are just a few minor things left, I'd consider them as "nice to have". Maybe you or some of the friendly guys around here may help with these:

1.
How do I change the default answer/button in the confirmation dialogs from No to Yes?

2.
How do I turn off the clock/date?

3.
When no cover was found, a transparent image shall be shown instead of the default one. How do I do this?

4.
I'd love to see the song lyrics having more space on the screen, cover and song info (artist/song/album/track#) can be smaller. The lyrics are what matters to me the whole time while listening to a song. Furthermore, it's a kind of an information that may change rapidly when there's lots of lyrics in a song. Usually I know beforehand what artist/songs I'm going to listen to, so no need to show this info the whole time. An "on demand info" thing would be great, like you press "i", the info pops up (scrolling on the screen bottom for instance) and disappears after a moment. So my perfect solution would be the lyrics using the whole screen.

I have this customized lyrics script, that uses all of the height and half of the width. Unfortunately the rotating song info window would get in the way when it rotates to the right. How can I solve this?

Thank you all in advance,
Tomsn

Hi pecinko. Just to report that a horisontal ellipsis is shown wrong. It should be "..." But instead it is "---" (substitute the dashes for periods). The unicode for horisontal ellipsis is u2026.

Hello all. I've been using this skin on my Fire TV and it works beautifully. I just installed it on my iPad, but I can't figure out the gesture to get to the left slide out menu (the menu to change view modes and get to the video playlists). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

After fixing some small errors (thanks to Ronie pointing those out) Amber has been added to the official repo for Helix Smile

That's great news, thanks!

To be clear, I continue to give full credit to Pecinko, but I will be using my fork to push updates to the official repo, this way updates/fixes can go in faster (no offense Pecinko...) now that its back in the repo

https://github.com/jester-xbmc/skin.amber

Next up will be to update the skin to be fully compatible with v15, which will take some work:

Pull requests welcome Smile

Somehow whatever you did had the effect of breaking my Kodi when I started it.

I'm assuming Kodi was trying to update the skin, something broke and then it went to a black screen.

I managed to change the skin to Confluence before it broke and I was able to isolate the issue.

It does take a while on a slower system to update, i had to same (rpi) but after 10-15 sec. its comes back.
If this is not the case for you, please post a debug log so we can figure out what is going on.

Thanks

This is on a Core i5 on Windows. No performance issues. It simply broke and went to black screen. I did manage to update it manually (got the .zip from the github repo).

Here's a link to the log, not sure how helpful will be: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/120650/kodi.old.log

Works fine here. Anything in debug log?

Same for me here.
Context menu for Movies etc. is working, but not for Favorites and AddOns.
Was there a solution for buddy123's problem I didn't see?

Thanks, I see a lot of versions are used, can you remove all old versions of the skin, reboot, and then install it fresh from the official kodi repo and if it still causes an issue post another log ?
