Yes, that is the problem.
It happens the same to me

RE: Arctic Horizon - Flecky - 2020-03-23

Another mistake I have is that when using a kodi favorites menu, the content becomes very slow.

And my kids are wondering if text could be used for the vertical home menu?

Thank you!

The viewtypes are left aligned because everything else is (e.g. info, buttons etc.).

I do actually prefer centered alignment position for scrolling due to the points that you mention, but it just makes more sense to have left alignment for the purposes of navigation - e.g. I think it feels more natural to have an up press go directly up to the buttons rather than up and to the left. Everything would have to be center aligned for center aligned lists to work, which would fundamentally change the design of the skin.

In terms of main menu, I can see the advantage to text. My main setup is fairly simple for menu - I use broad categories (movies, tvshows, music, addons, settings) and then rely on widgets and submenus for finer navigation -- but I can see the value if you have a more complex series of categories, so I've added it to my todo list:
https://github.com/jurialmunkey/skin.arctic.horizon/issues/49

Hi jurialmunkey, please make the text optional because some of us prefer icon only home screen

Definitely will be optional. Icon only will be the default.

For (3) you want to setup library nodes with specific rules that exclude the horror genre

Thanks jurialmunkey,
I'll take a look at video nodes this evening.

I have tried a bunch of the episode widgets but couldn't get the outcome i was looking for. Is it strange that the same widget works in different ways between AZ2 and AH? It's the exact same widget i'm using.

Keep up the great work Smile

RE: Arctic Horizon - popeye2468 - 2020-03-23

Widgets are just a shortcut to a library/plugin path or a smart playlist - the skin doesn't determine what the actual items are, it only changes how the items are presented. If different content is showing then you've selected a different widget.

Think of it like browsing a folder on your computer. If you have C:\Pictures open in your file manager and you change the view from Large Icons to Tiles, the actual pictures in the folder are still the same pictures. You might even have a theme that changes what the borders of the window look like or what the buttons look like. That's like what the skin is doing to a widget -- the widget is the folder of items and the skin is how those items are presented, using a different skin isn't going to make different files suddenly appear in the folder.

I've answered this question so many times....

No.

If there is a problem with a view not matching the content it is because the addon is setting the wrong content type.

Sounds good thank you.

I have read most this thread, but must have missed it.  I have submenus set up, but how does one "activate"  or show them.  AZ2 was left arrow, but that does not work.  Also, i tried a Hub widget, but dont see that show up.  Possible to point me to how these work?   Sorry for the hassle.

Hi @jurialmunkey, would it maybe be possible to add the "finishes at" timestamp to the basic OSD?

Thanks for the explanation. I don't want to disagree with you because you obviously know more than me here but I am definitely using the same widget between the 2 skins. Library://video/tvshows/Inprogressshows.xml but they are showing different results. See screenshots below.

There is no option for next episode in the episode widgets either. There's an in progress but that shows episodes that I've started to watch but not finished.

Set the "Fullscreen widget path", and it'll show on main menu pages with no defined widgets.
