RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - im85288 - 2015-09-21

Hi guys, I'm one of the developers of the Emby for Kodi addon. I haven't read anything except the last part so am not aware of what has been reported. What I can say is the Emby addon syncs the media locally and provides two ways to initiate playback. The default way uses our service to initiate playback which allows using Emby features such as "Cinema mode" (which plays trailers prior to movies) or "Custom Intros" (which allows other videos etc to be specified as being played prior to playback.

The second way is what we call using direct paths. This method bypasses the Emby addon altogether by playing the file directly from its place of storage.

So it would be good to know if it is the Emby addon causing issues and if so does turning on use direct paths solve this.

Hello Scott,

Yea I believe I can send headers, which thats not the problem I am sure I could do that. The issue I was looking to figure out is why does OpenHAB see this is an external device when its on the same network. I will just send the headers if I have to.

I have read on your emby forum that angelblue05 (another Emby for Kodi dev) says you HAVE to use direct path in order for CV to work correctly.
That's what I am doing and it's working fine. (Except for a little bug that has nothing to do with emby)

New Log

cheers

We've been doing some digging into this. It appears that the issue is with VOB files, which the Kodi player supports. I'm not sure about DSPlayer, or how the Emby service factors in. From the logs, it looks like you're running an older version of CinemaVision, since the issue with the dummy file that you had before appears to be in there. Let me get you to download the newest release and run through it. If at all possible, try taking DSPlayer out of the equation and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, the issue is with DSPlayer. If it does, the issue could be with the Emby service, or with CinemaVision. We haven't (and frankly don't have time to) look through the code for the Emby service, but if you can get our developer an audience with one of the Emby developers, they might be able to talk out what's happening.

ok thanks scott

Thanks for stepping im85288 it's me having the issues with this addon using dsplayer and ebmy for kodi addon some of the selected intros / bumpers work and some don't then kodi just sits at a blank screen till I exit playback, thats basically the problem

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - rippmaster13 - 2015-09-21

OK. so i have cinema experience working. But i want cinema vision, due to the smart hue integration that can be done via actions.

cinema vision is hard to setup!

But i cant get my head around how cinemavision is supposed to work? I can get "directory" to work when adding a node. but i want cinema vision to take a random clip from a specific directory?

i also put alot of files in the diffrent audio bumper directory (some m2ts files) but eaven when i play something with DTS master audio i dont get any audio trailers.

the only thing that works is the random apple trailers.

what am i doin wrong?

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - HTFanatic - 2015-09-21

By the way, I'm doing something wrong that is causing both my IE v11 and Chrome v44, after I log into CinemaVision, and click on that "Active Topics" window on the right hand side such as "Star Wars Pre-release video slides", the web browsers turn blank and just hang, even after clicking refresh to refresh the browser (F5). Any ideas?

I am having the same problem at the moment.

For the benefit of the previous poster,

I think when you install Cinema Vision, these folders are created automatically.
This is how I did it. First create a folder called “Cinema Vision” in my case Openelec, this was in storage.
Within this
Action, Audio Format Bumpers, Music, Ratings Bumpers, Sequences, Trailers, Trivia Slides, & Video Bumpers.
Within Audio Format Bumpers, create folders, Auro-3D, Datasat, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-X, Other, THX
Now download the different audio bumpers, from http://cinemavision.tv/forum/13-audio-format-bumpers/
& put into the correct folders.
Inside the Ratings Bumpers Folder, create BBFC, DEJUS, FSK, MPAA
Download & unzip the ratings to the correct folder, http://cinemavision.tv/forum/12-ratings-bumpers/

Sequences is a folder I created to save my own sequences.
Trailers, is required if you want to download before you play trailers, if you stream this can stay empty.

Trivia Slides is for downloaded content for slides
Within Video Bumpers create folders, 3D Intro, 3D Outro, Countdown, Courtesy etc
Inside these folders add short movie intros etc,

This is a very quick guide to get you started.

After CV is installed, configure, settings the path to Cinema Vision, update content, OK
Then open CV & edit the settings, personally, I was confused to begin with, & started, by adding one item in the sequence, saving that, seeing if it worked, then adding another.

I did, but still had problems understanding it.

Still not sure what "bumpers" are, I thought they were on the front & back of cars.

Thanks for jumping into the conversation! I'm not sure exactly what the problem could be, but it's good to know we can get a perspective from the Emby team as well.

Thanks for posting this, it's incredibly helpful and gives us another step to troubleshoot what could be the issue wints is seeing.

This might be the direct path issue referenced above, or it could be an issue with DSPlayer itself. Let me know how the troubleshooting steps I gave you go, and we'll see what we can do from there.

CinemaVision should just look like Python calls to openHAB. We're not doing any fancy labeling. It would look just like Kodi. I know some folks have had success authenticating using headers, so I figured that might be a decent thing to try.

It's hard to tell what's going on without a log, but I'll try to finish the step by step guide today for you all.

We're having some odd issues with the site at the moment that we're working through. It appears topics, messaging, downloads and pages are all affected. We've got a ticket open with Invision, and are doing what we can on our end to fix it. Stay tuned, it's not you guys.

Would gladly give you a log but I killed my CV userdata folder to try and resolve the issue and now every part of my Kodi installs, everywhere, can't access anything on Windows SMB which is another issue I'm trying to get help for elsewhere.

Please do let us know if you can get a signal to autoswitch displays though. That would be super useful (once full MVC support is actually possible with a $1000 machine vs a $35 machine.).

Hi Scott, in a german kodi forum i am a user of, two users created addons to auto switch to the TVs 3D mode.
One for LG TVs, the other for Sony. Maybe you can find there what you are looking for.

Its in german, so if google translate doesnt help you enough, write me and i will translate it for you.

LG Auto-Switch 3D
Sony Auto-Switch 3D

From the logs, it looks like the sequence was aborted by you before the Audio Format Bumper, and everything else in your sequence but a trailer played without issue. Can I get you to describe in detail what you're seeing and how to recreate it?

Just tested 0.0.40 and its working great!
Sequence editor issue is gone and everything works consistently with one exception.

I have a .mkv movie file that seems to always skip the trailers yet play everything else in the sequence.
Here is the log but I'm not to worried about it as it is only this file with the issue (as far as I know).

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - HTFanatic - 2015-09-22

Hi all,

I downloaded the zip file that is the CinemaVision download and extracted it into its own folder in the root of C:\ called "CV".

I may be mistaken but I didn't see a .exe executable file and I watched the first few minutes of Ragnarok's youtube video where there is a "Launch"

button.

Is there an executable that you first click on or do you put the unzipped files into a certain Kodi directory and then go to the add "Add-ons" area of Kodi

where you will then see the CinemaVision Add-on after putting the unzipped files into the Kodi Add-on directory in Windows Explorer?

Or do you just put the extracted files (listed below) into a Kodi "Add-on" directory and then like magic the CinemaVision Add-on will show up among the list of Add-ons to
install into Kodi?

The list of files I get when extracted are the following:

Resources (folder)
addon.py
addon.xml
changelog.txt
icon.png
LICENSE.txt

Thanks! Big Grin
