RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Ransonneil - 2019-03-12 Is there anyway to get the current AZ or any preliminary version of this on Kodi 18? Can’t wait for AZ2 release RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - popeye2468 - 2019-03-12 Yes get AZ 1 from his github or look for the thread arctic zephyr plus go to last page and there is a leia version RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - popeye2468 - 2019-03-12 (2019-03-12, 15:58)Blurayx Wrote: @jurialmunkey The easiest way i found to fix this is to go to the skin folder in kodi/addons/skin.arctic.zephyr then look i think for colors (could be wrong here) but you should see a default.xml and all the others if its the black theme you like locate it and rename it to default.xml job done RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Blurayx - 2019-03-12 (2019-03-12, 19:49)popeye2468 Wrote:(2019-03-12, 15:58)Blurayx Wrote: @jurialmunkey Thank You RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - LFLR - 2019-03-12 (2019-03-12, 18:28)Blurayx Wrote:(2019-03-12, 17:57)LFLR Wrote:I did not know it happens to every skin. Easiest way to do this is to copy all the colour definitions from the one you want to use and paste them above the default ones in the defaults file - Kodi will always use the first definition in the file if there are multiple. RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - jurialmunkey - 2019-03-13 (2019-03-12, 15:18)Sjors125 Wrote: Just curious; @jurialmunkey what is your own favorite skin? Always your latest one, or do you have an older favorite for personal use? Which non-jurial skin do you like best? And what feature do you really want to have in your skin, but isn't already (i.e. a feature you haven't made yet, of even might not be possible yet)? I use Aura on the loungeroom htpc. Before that, Eminence was my daily driver ever since the first version. In terms of skins that aren't my own: out of the current crop of v18 skins, Pellucid and Embuary are my favs (Rapier is also great, but not to my personal taste). For v17, Mimic and Grid. For v16, reFocus. In terms of my feature wishlist - there are so many! The big one is for Actors and Directors to be treated the same way as other objects in the library database - i.e. Have scraped info for Actors and Directors rather than relying on Extended Info to do the work. That way the functionality of extended info could be replicated almost entirely with local information. Plus it would give the possibility for richer views in Actor/Director sections and in the movies/tvshows info dialogs (for instance, I would love to have a movie info screen where you can scroll to actors and immediately see the actor bios rather than having to click into them and load extended info). I would also love to see things like the Trivia, Goofs, and User Reviews from imdb scraped and accessible in the video info dialog. Some type of wikipedia scraper would also be amazing. Though I'm not holding my breath for any of these. Other features that I want all relate to under-the-hood stuff. e.g. Auto-sizing of list control items; Conditional and variable position controls; Basic math operations; Ability to use grouplists inside itemlayout; Scraped metacritic/rt etc. ratings that work outside of the info dialog rather than relying on SkinHelper; Border tags for diffuse textures so that one diffuse texture can be used across multiple differently sized textures; Layering of button control textures; Font character spacing controls and so many others that I can't think of right now! RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - jurialmunkey - 2019-03-13 Input Needed! After giving things a bit of a longer spin on the tv in the loungeroom, I'm considering shortening the side margins slightly and increasing the padding between items a little bit. The old wider margins seem great on the smaller screen of my laptop, but it felt a bit cramped when on the tv. What are everyone's thoughts on this change? See screenshots below for comparison. First screen shot is the new version with shorter margins and increased padding, second screenshot is the old style with wider margins and reduced padding. RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Weavus - 2019-03-13 Personally, I much prefer the new smaller margins and increased padding. RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - bsoriano - 2019-03-13 +1 for the new ones! Thanks RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - jurialmunkey - 2019-03-13 Okay, great! Thanks guys - wanted to make sure it wasn't only me thinking the new margins/padding are a better use of space before I committed to changing everything! I hope a lot of the things you talk about will be possible someday. I can see why you like Embuary and Pellucid, as they both have simplicity as goal too. Thanks again and keep up the good work. If you need some testing on LibreElec, or additional Dutch translations, just ask. RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - testmetest - 2019-03-13 I'm surprised folks are liking less margin as this does not match your design philosophy. Before, the balance with negative space was much better. With the new margins, the effect is to make the skin feel more cramped and claustrophobic. Please think on it before recoding your skin. |
