RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - jurialmunkey - 2019-03-13 (2019-03-13, 04:22)testmetest Wrote: I'm surprised folks are liking less margin as this does not match your design philosophy. Before, the balance with negative space was much better. Have you looked fullscreen on a tv from a normal viewing distance? Because I felt exactly the same way *until* I looked on the tv - somehow the effect is reversed when viewing on a larger screen from further away - the wider margins suddenly feel really cramped, whereas having shorter margins opens up the space. Plus the new shorter margins allow for more padding *between* items, giving a greater sense of room on the screen. The *new* margins are actually the same margins that I used in AZ1 (80px side, 180px top). Plus it gives a symmetry because there is 80px from the top, 20px of header text, then 80px to the content, with padding between items being half the margin size (40px). Whereas before the side margin was 120px and padding was 30px (space between items being a 1/4 of margin size, leading to a feeling of being cramped). I think the old way looks good on a computer screen because it is a similar design approach to a web page - but that doesn't necessarily translate well to the tv. There are definitely merits to both approaches, though - hence, my hesitance to simply up and change everything. I will definitely be thinking on it some more before recoding absolutely everything (though, the way the skin is designed means it isn't an excessive amount of work - most of the work is recreating diffuse textures at the new sizes). RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - satelly - 2019-03-13 always a fan of your skins. with the poster view, will you still have the option of having a fanart and plot to the left side (in place of the first few posters) similar to AZ1. Yep (although the sides are switched by default - but there is an option to have info on the same side as AZ1) Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Fredouye - 2019-03-13 +1 for the new layout, it feels less "centered". Excellent !!! +1 for the new margins RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - jopereira - 2019-03-13 (2019-03-13, 01:29)jurialmunkey Wrote: Okay, great! Thanks guys - wanted to make sure it wasn't only me thinking the new margins/padding are a better use of space before I committed to changing everything!Yes, if you need advise on aesthetics, talk to us! Expect this to become a popular feature and skin standard for Kodi RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - rykios - 2019-03-13 (2019-03-13, 04:22)testmetest Wrote: I'm surprised folks are liking less margin as this does not match your design philosophy. Arctic: Zephyr 2 - GuiZ - 2019-03-13 Hi, Love what you did of AZ. Do you plan to add a large view with banner option like in AZ 1. It feet very well for tvshow (banner) for episodes view and for list of songs view. RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Castilho - 2019-03-13 Hello, this is perfect, that's great functionality. Every time you have some updates I'm excited to see, some of you want to release the skin as it is now, but when we see new screenshots we thank you for not having made it available yet.
