RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - latts9923 - 2022-04-03 @Juan Mortyme I added Disney Plus, Netflix, etc. to the videocodec flag to give folks the option to show the streaming service icon. The studio is not necessarily Disney Plus or Netflix. Darn it...OK, I'll take another look at the code for the webTV icon. And I'll look at adding a mediatype flag like MQ 8 displays. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - Juan Mortyme - 2022-04-03 (2022-04-03, 12:57)latts9923 Wrote: @Juan Mortyme Fair enough, I was a wee bit confused as to the motive behind that and while I don't agree with it I suppose others might want do it. Just to play devil's advocate for a minute I see a couple of consequences. For anyone mucking about with the codec tag in their nfo files they should realize they are painting themselves into a corner, much like I did when I changed all my mpaa tags to CA. Now if I want to try any other skins, not that I do, but if at some point I do, I'll have to edit/mod them to get the Canadian mpaa icons to work. In this case they will be braking the video codec on other skins they may try. The other thing is one could see this as the thin edge of the wedge. After all in this day and age very little content on any network or streaming service is actually produced by that network/platform. In fact even when they are the producer it's quite common to create a new one-off production company for each new project undertaken for tax and liability reasons. Therefor one could imagine the list of requested network/platform icons growing. Anyway, I doubt anyone will be deterred but I think it's worth pointing out potential drawbacks. Having said that, giving users options is never a bad thing so good on you for being so accommodating. If you are able to get the webtv and video codec to display simultaneously that could possibly be a different means to same end without changing the video codec tag. Instead add a trigger like ".dplus" or ".nflix" in the file name to display a streaming service much like ".web" does now. That might be a better way even as it stands now, this method won't break the video codec when using other skins or require a redo of the nfo file should it be overwritten? Just a little food for thought. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - latts9923 - 2022-04-04 @Juan Mortyme Try any other skins? Blasphemy! LOL Yeah, the mods I've made don't play well with other skins. Once I add the mediatype flag, it will display the webTV icon. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - Juan Mortyme - 2022-04-04 @latts9923 I would strongly suggest giving the idea of using file name tags rather than modifying nfo files to display steaming serve icons a second thought? Not only would it preserve the functionality of the video codec tag but I think more users find it easier to change file names vs editing nfo files. I'm curious what other users opinions on this are? So I ask anyone reading this to please offer their opinion. As well if that video codec tag use to display steam icons is being applied to your other skins it might be a good idea to solicit opinions in those threads as well? Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - MB1968 - 2022-04-04 I agree with you. I'm facing other issues under Matrix. The language values for audio and subtitles in my .nfo files are being ignored, when perfoming a full scan. The values are pulled from the video. When I refresh each movie individualy, the info is being read correctly from the .nfo file. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - Juan Mortyme - 2022-04-05 (2022-04-04, 22:05)MB1968 Wrote: I agree with you. Language icons wouldn't appear after initial scan, they only appeared after a refresh. I don't remember what cured it, a script update, something I did, or it fixed itself. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - Juan Mortyme - 2022-04-05 @latts9923 Just a quick question. Is the season fanart supposed to cycle when viewing episode list like it does while viewing season list? If so it's not working, only default season fanart shows while viewing episodes. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - latts9923 - 2022-04-05 @Juan Mortyme Roger that...the streaming flags will be displayed by including them in the filename. The episodes should have their own fanart settings. Let me double check when I get back to my mod PC. Are there supposed to be "episode" fanarts in addition to "season"? If so that would explain why it's not working for me. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - latts9923 - 2022-04-06 @Juan Mortyme The episode "SEASON FANART" setting will display the first fanart image of the season (if available). If missing, it will display the first fanart image of the TV Show. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - Juan Mortyme - 2022-04-06 (2022-04-06, 14:27)latts9923 Wrote: @Juan MortymeOK. that's what it is doing. For some reason I was thinking it would cycle the season fanart. My mistake. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - latts9923 - 2022-04-07 @Juan Mortyme I can look at making it cycle the season fanart. I removed the audio and subtitle values for languages I'm not interested in. I decided to keep the values for the original audio tracks and for the English and Dutch subtitles. However after a full scan, Matrix ignores this part in my .nfo files and still displays subtitle icons for all available languages in the video file. When I refresh each movie indivifually the language values in the .nfo files are respected. Strange. Seems that I've edited my .nfo files in vain. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - Juan Mortyme - 2022-04-07 @MB1968 Have you tried turning off "tag reading" for videos in the Media>Video settings? It doesn't work right anyway so might just as well disable it. RE: Aeon MQ 7 for Matrix - MB1968 - 2022-04-07 (2022-04-07, 18:08)Juan Mortyme Wrote: @MB1968Yes. It was the first setting thing I've checked. |
