RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - Soli - 2015-07-10 You are right, it is more of a general OE/addon question, and you should ask for help in their respective threads. Netflix/nfl wont work better/worse on a Chromebox. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - Brker19 - 2015-07-11 Running Chromebox M004U Ubuntu/kodi stand alone with recommended settings. The box works fine in my bedroom "closer to the router" "wireless" but when I try it on my 65' samsung running through my Denon x5200 receiver I run into severe lag in the program. The CPU usage max's at 100% and the audio and video freeze along with any inputs to kodi freezing. I'm rying to get the reciever to input something besides PCM so the Atmos and NEOx are available to use on the receiver. Is this a processing problem or network? Anytime I've had network issues Kodi just buffers not completely freeze. I am new to the chromebox. I normally use my I5 CPU for the livingroom but it will only output PCM. I know that PCM is uncompressed but I don't get the Atmos and TrueHD options on my receiver. That's the whole reason I tried it out in the living room. Just trying to figure out the issue. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - fritsch - 2015-07-11 No issue without proper Debug Log - see the very first page of this thread. We can start a raining dance or something or whine in groups ... dmesg is needed, kodi.log is needed. Edit: Concerning your audio - same. It seems you run pulseaudio and did not use "anything" recommended ... RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - Brker19 - 2015-07-11 I'm not trying to do pulse audio a sim just running it into my receiver through HDMI letting Ubuntu/kodi output the source content. I just wanted to know if anyone had problems with High bitt rate TrueHD/Dolby Atmos. I can get the log files when I'm not working 60 straight hours in a five day run. I didn't even want to ask any type of question because I knew it would be met with an answer with a sarcastic underlying comment. I'm new I understand my knowledge with this is not as advanced as people on here. I do searches and come up with 500 posts and 99% have nothing to do with my problem. I know people ask the same crap over and over. I have read the first post many times and there is no recommended audio setting besides the info on SPDIF. I'm sure this post will get deleted but please understand that everyone is not as experiance as you are with the Ubuntu/kodi chromebox. I was just looking to see if anyone had similar problems with the Chromebox stand alone install on a M004U had trouble with the High Bit rate lossless audio. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - fritsch - 2015-07-11 No, your post won't get deleted. chromebox has not a single issue with high bit rate lossless audio ... it's a configuration problem on your side and therefore I asked for a Debug Log. I can tell you with one look on it what is going wrong ... cause I wrote that code ... I have read the first post many times and there is no recommended audio setting besides the info on SPDIF. there are very few reasons for which questions asked here might be met with a degree of hostility: - question asked when answer exists in the OP or the wiki page - question asked without providing necessary info, as specified in the OP - question asked is wildly off-topic It all boils down to respecting the time of those who provide all of this software, support, etc completely free of charge. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - atomicyouth - 2015-07-12 Having an issue running the script, when typing in the curl command I get a "no URL specified!" error. I have performed all steps up until this point from removing the write protect screw, downloading and running the recovery tool, and I did not log into chrome just let it boot and selected my wireless network. I have completed every stage of the installing dual boot Chrome os+ OPENELEC onto my m0075 asus chrome box. However, my device is stuck on the booting from hard disk..... screen (SeaBios version 20150618-MattDevo) I can't do anything on this screen. Hoping someone could give me detailed instructions on how to fix this problem, or a step by step in case I have to wipe and restart over again. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - Matt Devo - 2015-07-13 See the section on the wiki which specifically addresses that problem RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - bob808 - 2015-07-13 Does anyone get a general system freeze on their chromebox - I have 2 chrome boxes both running latest stable OE and they work great but sometime simply lock up after a period of time and need a reboot. The clock at the top right sticks and the remote becomes non responsive. When it is working all is good. I am only running mediaportal over and Titan skin with emby plugin nothing else is running - can provide logs but thought I would check if there was a known issue or not. Thanks RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - Netuzist - 2015-07-13 (2014-11-20, 08:49)Matt Devo Wrote:(2014-11-20, 08:42)aaatjs Wrote: i do... but how do i do that? I bought an asus chromebox and would like to remove the write protect screw to do as I wish to my newly acquired machine. So based on a video I saw on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2lTUUTAwbst Okay, so I first take off the rubber feet of the chromebox exposing the four screws (as shown in other guides) I then remove the four screws afterwards I open the chromebox separating the two halves then reassemble in reverse order. Okay understood all that but why must I separate the two halves then reassemble the thing in reverse order ? What happens when you do that ? Why can't I just remove the screw without separating the two halves ? Pardon for what may seem as dumb questions but I though your explanation of this will help me and all the other newbies out there better understand the process of removing the write protection screw. Just want some feedback on this guys I don't want to feel like I'm delving into this all on my own. By the way, I liked how the guy in the video removed the bottom half of the chromebox lid by sticking two of the screws in the vesa mount holes then gently lifted the bottom cover off the chromebox with the two screws in place. I thought [from a non-technician point of view] that it was very astute of him to have done that don't you think ? RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/07/02] - whitebelly - 2015-07-13 ^I think you may be confused by the wording. The "two halves" mean the two "sides of the metal contact" (or two circuits) that the screw connects together. In some cases, if you remove the screw the two circuits are still connected by a small bit of conductor on the edge of the board. That is what must be removed to 'seperate' the 'two circuits'. In my case, and for many, just removing the screw was sufficient to separate the circuits. |
