- craigd - 2010-10-27 info is scraped the same way so no difference. If you want to sync multiple systems may also be worth looking in to using mysql for your db if you have a machine which will be always on. - mdt73 - 2010-10-27 In fairness I'm on the very limit of my technial knowledge as it is. I'm getting 2 x Zotac's with SSD's withouth OS and will be loading xbmc Live on to them. (fingers crossed) I use a QNAP NAS for storage which has an SQL server built in. Could this be used? - Mnuu - 2010-10-27 Just curious, why an SSD? Seems to be very expensive with very little gain, you'll cut the boot time but have pretty much zero impact on XBMC performance. If you are worried about boot time, why not just have the boxes drop into standby and have them always on? - mdt73 - 2010-10-27 It's not a huge price difference really £25/30 and if it makes the boot quicker and makes the overall system quieter?? Its a good gain, I think. - >>X<< - 2010-10-27 Mnuu Wrote:Just curious, why an SSD? If you are worried about boot time, why not just have the boxes drop into standby and have them always on? That's not true SSD will have an impact on performance in XBMC especially with a lower powered system why do you think an OS boots faster because everything is read from the drive faster same applies to XBMC, all those images in your library come from your cache which is stored on your SSD same for all those images that make up the skin As for Ember if you want control over your artwork then its a good choice just remember if you use it after you already scanned everything into library your changes won't appear unless you refresh each movie or rebuild your library from scratch as I said above you see the images in the cache not those stored with your media - Flomaster - 2010-10-27 ember makes it so stinking easy. I have a small movie collection of 300ish movies. have changed my file naming, movie sets, etc etc. I have removed my source and added 2 or 3 times now and with out having to wait for xbmc to scrape each file. yeah it takes a good 10 minutes there abouts to get then all added, but compared to the alternative its not that bad. -=Jason=- - actionfreak - 2010-10-27 I installed ember but for me it wasn't setting the genre automatically and I dont want to have to do that manually. - >>X<< - 2010-10-27 actionfreak Wrote:I installed ember but for me it wasn't setting the genre automatically and I dont want to have to do that manually. You have obviously unselected genre in one of two places then because even with the layout change on IMDb genre still works, that reminds me anyone who is new to ember make sure you select "Scrape full cast" otherwise your get loads of stuff missing this is due to the layout change on IMDb selecting "Scrape full cast" is a work around - Thomss - 2010-10-30 Has there been any update with the recent broken imdb scraping that anybody is aware of? - CrazyIvan - 2010-10-30 Thomss Wrote:Has there been any update with the recent broken imdb scraping that anybody is aware of? Just the workaround that's described in this thread that fixes the problem. - Peligrozo - 2010-10-31 I've been slacking lately and haven't updated my library for quite a while. However, I decided to deal with it tonight and upgraded to the latest Ember release and suddenly I can't find the old dummy avi generator tool (for offline media) that used to be in EMM. Am I missing out on something? If it's no longer available, is there a different tool available? EDIT: Nvm, just figured out that you need to download the addon... Custom TV Series - Hudson_Hawk04 - 2010-11-01 I have been using ember for quite a while to keep tabs on my movies it is working exactly as advertised, but I do have a question I have put together a custom compilation of sporting events the question is how do I get them to scrape into my library? I have an Icon made and that is in place, the series of files are named (filename-101, filename-102) they are inside of a folder named season 1. Any help with this matter would be appreciated. Figured it out I was not paying attention to what I was doing. Maybe I spoke too soon, I can get season 1 to show in the library ok, but it is throwing me an additional season as well. I am assuming it is a file naming issue, going to see if i can figure it out. but any help would be appreciated. Finally figured out what I was doing wrong with the naming so all is well. - isamu.dragon - 2010-11-01 Hudson_Hawk04 Wrote:I have been using ember for quite a while to keep tabs on my movies it is working exactly as advertised, but I do have a question I have put together a custom compilation of sporting events the question is how do I get them to scrape into my library? I've reinstalled it numerous times and it wont scrape any posters or fanart ![]() |
