@ozone38 interesting, but even If I could compile it for iOS4, would always be for 4.3 and I never take care if all the used instruction set is good with the sdk 4.0. I'm sorry but if it will be, iOS4 support will be a low priority task.

@joethefox I must have a look to test it, but I am not sure to have all (hard+sdk...) to try this...

I have another strange behaviour with the official remote over here: running the app on an iPad 3 (iOS6) this remote can only connect, while a music track is playing?! I can start a track with one of the other remotes from iPad but not with this one.

>> Connection is obviously possible WRT to network settings, firewalls etc. I tried many different settings but no success. This seems to be an unstable combination with a somewhat useless behaviour. The remote looks so great otherwise!

Any idea what could be wrong??

What are the steps that you have tried to start a track that have failed?

Peterli - how did you install XBMC on an iPad 3? Did not think you could jailbreak that on IOS6 either.

if you upgraded to iOS6 there is not a known jailbreak, unless you have a A4 device(which is not a iPad 3). Until that has been released, the only way you are installing XBMC on the ipad 3 is by downgrading to iOS version 5(which has not been done on a iPad 3).

is it possible to close xbmc from the remote app? iOS or Android?

between the device item you are connected to and the xbmc logo(at the bottom of the screen), the power button will allow you to power off, suspend, hibernate, scan audio library, and scan video library. I just tested the power off on my mac mini and the mac powered off without an issue.

But there is no "quit" XBMC function. Unless I too have overlooked it.

HI All, first of all... amazing job! the remote looks awesome on the Ipad and works great.. there's only 1 thing it's missing IMO and was wondering if it is really missing or i'm just being blind..

I don't use the library view, i scan everything, but then use the "Video" file view as i hate the way the library sorts the genres and i have all my movies split into Genre folders anyway.

Is there a way to see this view via the remote? I'd like to be able to browse the folders i have as sources and not just the library view of the movies it's scrapped.

any help appreciated!

@danmedhurst, Hi and thank you! you can browse your videos files folder going in the "files" section:

is this what you were looking for?

If i click that, and select my "Movies" source, i get a list of 28 "folders".. but they aren't the actual folder names.. it looks like it's picked a movie from within each of those folders and named the folder tht.. when i click on one.. it just says "no item found"

RE: [released] Official XBMC Remote for iOS - joethefox - 2012-10-29

@danmedhurst, yes I notice that too. I'm requesting to XBMC all the files of type "video" and this is the returned list. I will look if there are some improvements to do in this area.

Just got this for my phone and every button press I make, no matter how light counts for 2, 3 or 4 clicks. Like I'm holding the button down. Any help with what could be causing this?

I'm using Eden 11.0 on W7 laptop and ios 6.
