I use Kodi DSPlayer and I don't have any problem with subtitles in 4K HDR material.
I had the system freshly set up over a year ago and everything ran perfectly (with 1080TI).
Why not now, is the question..... is another file responsible for the subtitles in 4k?

Nope, I use xySubfilter for both HD (and SD) and 4K content.

I installed xySubfilter (which was not necessary until now), but unfortunately it was not successful.

Share your mediasconfig.xml and filtersconfig.xml. If it works for me, it has to work for you.

Thank you, it has now worked.
I had updated to Windows 11 in advance, so I thought it might be OK with that then. However, it didn't work.
I restored the existing Windows 10 backup but the subtitles still don't work.

Have now installed the xySubfilter on Windows 10et.... and everything works again!

Thanks for the tip, so far I haven't had to install anything for the subtitles. I saved xySubfilter right away in case this happens again.

Wink

Glad you solved it. My current feeling on Windows 11 is that, for media playing purposes, it has many creases to iron. And I don't want to be a beta tester for Microsoft.

I also stay with Windows 10

I just tested the 2020 build on windows 11 and I get the flickering ui overlay. Tried the fix mentioned regarding setting the rendering option to flush but that didn't help. Has anyone seen this or know how to fix it on windows 11?
It doesn't happen on windows 10 but I would like to be able to upgrade to windows 11 eventually Smile
using a 12th gen i9 and a rtx 3090. hardware acceleration set to dx11.

Thanks for the suggestion I tried it out but the flickering is still there when the ui is open during playback. It only happens on windows 11, I setup dual boot and windows 10 plays perfectly so hopefully eventually it will start working on 11 Smile

Does 3d work on this version with windows 11? Has anyone tried it?

RE: Kodi 17.7 DSPlayer x64 (2020 build) - mclingo - 2021-11-22

good question but im avoiding 11 as long as i can as it looks awful to use, yet another attempt to pull in apples users or morons who just open the browser and do nothing else, wish they've make a true pro version for techies where everything is easily accessible and no settings are hidden or duplicated... oh wait that already exists.. its called windows 7.

I've love to see an OS with a windows 7 front end on top of a windows 11 back end, if I wanted IOS i'd have bought a mac.

And dont get me started on the rounded corners you cant drag... how did this even get passed alpha, they must have completely ignored all the feedback.

What driver are you guys using?  I tried a couple older ones and the newest one and its still not switching back to SDR after I play some HDR content Sad  I'm still on 17.6 (just found out there is a 17.7 heh).  I tried 461.72 because I saw that was good on the doom9 forums but still won't switch back for me.  Went to 496.76 and same thing.  I'm on win10 21h2 with a 3090 gpu
