You need to have your TVShows added to the library - the first fanart on ".." is the TVShow fanart, which gets added when scanning TVShows to your library. CCM works off your library database to get all it's media fanart, except as you have seen folder.jpg and fanart.jpg which must be in the directory being shown.

I think that fanart is downloaded to my tvshows and fanart is on, but still get black bagground for episodes.
But is it possible, if the image is missing on the episodes, to keep the picture from the main folder instead of black background?

Feedback on Queries and suggestions of others
- DVD/BluRay cases in library view - not for me, but fine with an option to toggle off.
- I like the idea of alternative backgrounds to distinguish between CCMfH and the stock Confluence. However can I suggest it be done as a theme?
- Really like NKGX's submitted background, not so much with the grill added. Themes?
- +1 on the idea of putting TVShows Next Aired info alongside the Episodes.
- +1 on the TVShow logos on top of the thumbnails in Recent TV Shows widget.
- Title of widget (below widget) not needed, just adds to visual noise.
General Weirdness - Bugs for the To Do List?
- With Gray Theme applied, Global Backgrounds OFF but TV, Movies etc Backgrounds set to Theme, not all submenus of TV, Movies etc have the Theme - some are black, some are Red Auditorium.
My requests/ideas
- Can the Floor be removed globally instead of just on Main Menu?
- Since either Favorites or Shutdown icons must appear on the bottom left of the home screen, could you make a pair of mutually exclusive toggles?
- Could you swap the positions of the Favorites and Shutdwon icons? Call me lazy, but it would save one arrow click on the remote when accessing Favorites, not having to always flick past the Shutdown menu to get there. Wouldn't be an issue if you would implement the above.
- Please give some thought to having the user-selected Text Colour (YellowGreen rulez!) apply more widespread as the focus colour. Don't you find it odd that when on the main menu, say Movies, it's green, but when you take the focus down to Recent Movies the Movies turns back to default colour but Recent Movies does not turn green. Just saying...

Can you check what version you're running - there shouldn't be "black" backgrounds now, I can browse anywhere into my file system and not get a black background.
What happens when you use Confluence?

Themes are always a better idea - I actually encourage people to make up themes it's pretty easy and I don't have much time or the talent for images - anyone can just ask if they want to know how to put a theme together. Also the zip for CCM is getting pretty big we may have to do a separate addon for extras.

Will do logos on Widgets, CCM or Hybrid ? used to have them.
I'm happy to remove the widget titles - was just giving the otherside of the fence guys a chance to speak.

Yep I do find it odd - actually the idea started out as changing the shade so in default we'd still have a blue or matching colour - then I thought about themes which could be anything, So I chucked in all the "Kodi" named colours but the idea is still to use a colour that matches the blue. There is eight (I think) colours used and I can't make them all adjustable - I tried it with any early version of Hybrid and the whole thing slowed to a crawl
I normally check things with extremes which is how I first used "YellowGreen" and must admit I likes the contrast with the Grey. But it does need a theme so all the buttons match, I've got a copy of Jezz's "Kryptonite" them which may match

I'll gather more detail on the Global Background thing I mentioned and detail what I'm seeing.
Mutually exclusive toggles. I just mean a pair of radio buttons - one for hiding Shutdown Menu and one for hiding Favorites - that cannot be both selected at the same time. Click one to "on", fine, click the other to "on" and the first one goes back to "off".

@WildPhydeaux Actually just had a thought re: the "current theme" backgrounds - You need to set the backgrounds in SkinSettings-->Background Artwork to current theme, this is the actual setting for the artwork that CCM uses.
The setting "Background Type" in the Home Menu Items was added in afterwards to actually accommodate the live backgrounds and maybe the settings there should be adjusted to just "Live Background" and "User Select" The "Theme" option probably should be removed
Edit Sometimes I can't see the wood for the trees - Found a couple of fallbacks that were going straight to the default background not the theme background.

What happens when you use Confluence?
I have Kodi 14.1, CCM Helix 3.0.6 and Windows 8.1
In Confluence i get the background with the blue circles.
I get same result on my laptop too

Ok, to do this scientifically (ha!)...
Changed theme back to default and did a CCM Skin Reset. Version 3.0.6
All Videos, Movie and TV Shows views now use blue bubbles background. Check!
Turned Single Global Background off.
Videos, Movie and TV Shows list views now show FanArt backgrounds and their non-list views show the Red Theatre background. Check!
Disable List Item Background FanArt.
All Video, Movie and TV Shows list and non-list views now show the Red Theatre backgound EXCEPT TV Shows/Recently Added and Videos/Library/Recently added Episodes show a black background.
Applied Gray Theme and Set Single Global Background to on.
Black "grill" backgrounds on every view. (carefully checked none were just black). Check!
Set Single Global Background to off.
All Video, Movie and TV Shows list and non-list views now show the Red Theatre backgound EXCEPT TV Shows/Recently Added and Videos/Library/Recently added Episodes show a black background.
Set Videos, Movies and TV Shows background to Theme from the Background Artwork section of Skin Settings.
Videos, Movies and TV Shows show grill background. All submenu items under those headings show blue bubbles background EXCEPT TV Shows/Recently Added and Videos/Library/Recently added Episodes which show a black background.

Back with fresh results. I won't bore you with a duplication of the above testing method, but I tested in the identical way.
Good news and bad news:
Using the Gray theme, With Global Backgrounds off, List FanArt off and Videos, Movies and TV Shows set to have their backgrounds as "theme" in the Background Artwork section of the Skin Settings, the Black Grill background does indeed now show up in all the submenu items as well as the main menu items. (Good) ....
... EXCEPT in the TV Shows/Recently Added and the Videos/Library/Recently Added Episodes views, where the background is still black.
This black background is there on these two views in all the same tests as previously.
But I've got faith in you Mudislander...

One other thing. With the Background Artwork setting now applying to all submenu items under the main menu item you apply your chosen artwork to... why wouldn't we just have Live Content as an additional option on that screen? Then the Background Type option can be removed from the Home Menu Items section of the Skin Settings. This makes more sense to me, but just a thought.

Is there a setting to change the time on multi backgrounds? It changes pretty quick. Maybe one change every 30 sec or 1 min?
