RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - billroden - 2015-09-30

That happened on CE for me. I tried it on CV an it dimmed the lights only when the feature started. I didn't expect this to happen but to my surprise, it did. I will play with it some more and see what happens. I am using the hue add-on as well.

One more thing...did you use the CV launcher or did you start it some other way? I qued the movie in the launcher, then played it and it worked.

Everything seems to be working great not. No issues accessing the 3D sequence and no scanning of local trailers before CV runs. Awesome!

Now to figure out how to get CV to trigger a couple Z-Wave scenes at certain points. That's all new coding to me and looks scary!!!!!

If I can get Z-wave working I'll make a video of CV in action at my buddy's home theater, in full.

Let me know how I can help, and don't forget to keep your example action files around! We want to put examples up on the website for people to use and modify to fit their needs.

Excellent to hear.

thx

I haven't seen that, personally. I'm using CV to control hue lights without using the Hue Kodi add-on, and it's working like a champ. Can you post up your sequence and a log?

I haven't seen the site go down at all. Are you still having trouble?

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - Invincer - 2015-09-30

going to http://cinemavision.tv/ it times out and says the website is down

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - Invincer - 2015-09-30

this is crazy..

for some reason the website is down to me. Tried changing DNS, turned off firewall, even a different computer. None worked. Finally was able to see the website using unblockanything is the only way with their proxy. Now it wont let me sign up because of a captcha during signup which displays a text box over the bottom choices in the captcha...

Huh

I have the exact same problem using the X10 commander addon.
once a sequence starts, the lights dim, but at the end of that squence the lights go back on.
This happens with every single videobumper.
Once the movie starts, lights turn off.

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - leejk - 2015-09-30

@billroden: I used the CV context menu addon to start the sequence. When the sequence starts the lights dim, but then go bright /dim again between each bumper. Maybe there's a setting in the Hue addon to prevent this?

@CinemaVisin-Scott: I haven't setup CV to control the lights yet, but that would likely solve the issue. However, I use the Hue addon for watching pretty much everything, so I'd have to disable the Hue addon while using CV & then enable it while watching not using CV, so would rather figure out a way for both to coexist.

I play some more tonight and get a log.

Thx

Is this the Hue add-on you guys are using? The way it works looks like the behavior you're describing. If that's the case, the way CinemaVision creates and plays the experience, that add-on won't work in its current state without exhibiting the behavior you describe. It's essentially treating every module like it's the feature. I would suggest using the Action Module, and some of the Philips Hue Actions from the CinemaVision website. You'll have to modify them to fit your environment by putting in the correct IP bridge, group and username for your Hue lights.

Alternatively, the developer of the Hue add-on can use some of our properties found in this post to determine what scene to set while CinemaVision is running through the various modules. That will take development from their end, though.

Another thing that you could do is use an Action to disable the Hue add-on at the beginning of your sequence, then another to enable it at the end. That way you don't lose functionality everywhere else, but can still customize your sequence to work with the Hue action files we provide, or some that you create. Check out the Kodi Actions, I've put examples up for enabling and disabling Kodi add-ons.

Leejk

It doesn't sound like you are using the CV launcher. I believe it's a separate program you have to install. When I go to my movie list, I open the more options box of that particular movie and in there you will see a CV option. Select that and a box opens with a list of movies in the que. Then I select play from within that CV launcher. Is that what you do?

I tried it again last night and it worked just as you would want. No lights dim until the feature. I have short films that play before that and no lights dim.

I can check my hue add-on setting later this week if you still need it.

Hi, that is the way I launch CV. Which version of the Hue addon are you using? There are 2, and I'm currently using the original version that's still branded with XBMC. The newer one is branded with KODI.

thx CV Scott for the tips... I will look into those.

Hi,

On the trivia slides duration setting, this initially was misleading. The slider bar is by default all the way to the left, so it seemed that the default duration setting of 10 could not be changed. It seems that most everywhere these sliders are used, they do not correctly reflect the value they represent until they are changed, and then in some case are still off by 1. The slider for the trailer count is an example.

The sliders in the addon settings are the same way.

Also, in the default sequence the ratings bumpers are not showing for me. Any ideas on that?

And when trailers are playing, at the end of each trailer, they seem to get cut off prematurely. It would be better if the trailer would finish completely and perhaps a slight delay before the next trailer starts playing. As it is, it seems a little mechanical.

I have in the settings the number of trailers to play set to 3. However it never seems to play 3. Last try, it played 2 then went into an audio bumper loop, meaning that the sequence would not play past the audio bumpers. I stopped it and restarted, and on the second attempt it did not play the specified number of trailers and played the audio bumper twice. Using version 45.

This last time I tried it, trailers played as expected, no duplicate audio bumpers, but no ratings bumpers. I uploaded the log to pastebin using the option in settings, so don't know if that worked... How do you find them?

thx

Hard to tell what the problem is without a log. This could be that the Ratings Bumpers you downloaded from the site weren't extracted to the correct place, or that the content isn't in the database, or a settings issue.

I've never seen it do that before... You'll need to link your logs here in the thread by typing out the URL to them. Unfortunately, there's not a way to share logs on Pastebin with specific users.

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - billroden - 2015-10-01

I couldn't tell you why leejk is having so much trouble. I'm beginning to think the version I'm running is a stable one. Not one hiccup yet. As for the confusing slides time...I think they're self explanatory....no offense leejk. Smile

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - Dave the Minion - 2015-10-01

Noticed a problem with limiting trailers by genre. Seems to affect playing any trailers in a local directory or from the local database if you select of de-select the "limit by genre" option in either or both the configure and module sequence. It was working before but not it's just skipping all together. Not enough time to post a log at this moment or investigate more but ust wanted to post this discovery.
