Honestly, no real reason to switch to 17.7 from my point of view.

442.74 is the only driver I know that works but its too old to play most new games with heh.  I used it on my 1050 ti in my htpc and its great.  I using my gaming rig to be the htpc in my room and really would like to find a newer driver that works or maybe a quicker way to recover than restarting Kodi.

So I can get it working if I flip the HDR switch but its pretty annoying to have to turn it on and off every time I watch hdr content

Absolutely it's not needed. I am using a RTX3070 with reasonably updated drivers (3 weeks if I should guess), an up to date madVR beta, reasonably up to date LAV filters... if you want I can be more specific (can't access HTPC right now). But you should not settle for needing to flip HDR switch manually.

RE: Kodi 17.7 DSPlayer x64 (2020 build) - Mibuix0r - 2021-12-03

Yeah if you can get specifics that would be awesome, I haven't updated my madvr but I don't think its been updated in years (latest release v0.92.17) and try to find updated LAV filters.

EDIT: If you can give me the driver version and where to get this beta madvr version I might be able to get it working. I found the LAV filters and installed then copied the x64 over to the dsplayer lavfilters folder (I was on 70 now 75.1).  It didn't change anything so far.

EDIT2: I found it in the older versions section madVRhdrMeasure141.zip and copied it over the latest madvr and it works!! Thanks!

So you have automatic HDR toggle working now? Glad I convinced you not to give up, if that's the case. :-)

Yes you did Smile

Still some testing required, and this may be premature, but thank you for the suggestion regarding the beta MadVR.  I'm was very recently using DS Player as the only solution to getting both HDR auto switching AND fully functional Atmos (without hi bitrate dropouts) working.

The latter is nearly 100% with the current Matrix builds, but not 100%. I needed to update my Nvidia drivers for other purposes on my PC.  I had committed to sticking with that because I had the same problem with DS Player and MadVR and the latest Nvidia drivers.  When I stopped HDR playback the screen in Kodi would remain dark, as if HDR was still on.   Using the Beta solved it.

I don't follow the AVS forums or other forums too much, as those seem more about tone mapping for Projectors, and the DOOM9 forum is difficult to follow.

So thank you for this temporary fix. I never thought to use a beta vs. the years old current version of MadVR.

RE: Kodi 17.7 DSPlayer x64 (2020 build) - mclingo - 2021-12-28

just noticed an odd problem with this version for me, I have a 5.1.2 setup, standard 5.1 with rears and two front heights, when i'm bitstreaming my rears both sum to mono but my side surrounds play normally. Just to make sure it was not a LAV filter  or sanear problem I played the same channel test clip with MPC-HC using MADVR and same LAV filers externally, no issues so its defo an issue with this KODI version, I've guessing its a setting somewhere I've missed but its odd that it only does this when bitsteaming is enabled, anyone have any ideas?

RE: Kodi 17.7 DSPlayer x64 (2020 build) - mclingo - 2021-12-28

tried a new clean install, still the same so looks like a bug with this build as it works fine with MPC,  could be nobody has picked this up yet though as I may only be DTS bitstreaming as I dont have a test file for dolby with side and rear surrounds, this issue is it plays side surrounds fine but sums rear surrounds to mono.

Think this might have just been user partially user error as I'd accidentally set it to use internal filters but at that point where it worked it wasnt bitstreaming even though all the settings were set correctly, I reinstalled LAV and now it all working again.

So not a bug with this build at all.

whens there gonna be a proper update thats not broken , last proper working dsplayer release was 17.6 krypton dsplayer build,

also still would like it to support bdmvs m2ts and mpls...but also vobs, but using a external mediasconfig.xml in the dsplayer folder wont change that

p.s btw for those interested in the absolute latest LAV + Madvr build ....use this site ....always been super reliable for that sorts of stuff

https://anime.my/tutorials/configuring-potplayer-for-gpu-accelerated-video-playback-with-dxva-or-cuda-and-also-high-performance-software-decoding/

make sure to download the x64 pack installer

update > after reading a few back and noticed some folks suggesting to manually update dsplayer .dlls, i did just that ...didnt change blueray bdmvs not to play , BUT then i went abit further and replaced both libbluray.dll and libcurl.dll in the main kodi root dir with the ones from the latest LAV filters folder....and BOOM now BDMV playback works using Dsplayer once again as should!

btw anyone know how to have BT2020 autoforce itself ...not a fan of having to always set it per hotkey

Yeah, I was about to reply that if it was really bitstreaming there was no way it could actually intervene in channel layout.

wonder when the issues with Subs but more importantly broken pixel ratio and zoom function gets fixed since 17.7 build broke it ...17.6 was good to go as stated , and even more important

whens update to kodi 19 ....would make dsplayer recent again

RE: Kodi 17.7 DSPlayer x64 (2020 build) - hentai23 - 2022-01-29
