Hi @latts9923. It now occurs even when I just have the main menu showing, on first start up. It shows up when I go into Movies, TV Shows or even Music Videos now. I was even playing a Music Video and it crashed Kodi while I was watching the music video (probably 15 minutes into it). The debug log showed again, Skin Helper Service being called (don't know why when a music video was playing) right before the crash. With regard to knowing why the skin was causing the crash, you said it was the "old" way the skin handled extra fanart and that you had "removed some code" or "hadnt updated it". To clarify,  you did say "I've been trying to fix this problem with extrafanart and Video add-ons. I think I finally have the problem fixed, but I haven't had any time to look at this". Sorry, I should have been clearer in my original email.

I was just reporting that in the latest version, what I had thought to be fixed, has reared its ugly head again..

I can wait, as I just disable the SHS and the system works flawlessly and I don't see any degrade in the experience. SHS is too buggy with Extrafanart, so I use the Artwork Helper and that does the job. I have seen that some people just disable embuary helper, but that doesnt work for me and creates more SHS errors and crashing.

As mentioned to you, Im quiet happy to be a guinea pig to test code out that you might feel corrects the problem (when you get time of course).

I confirm the same behaviour described by @RB0135.
too much crashes even inthe main page, for any action you can perform (enetring in MMovie scetion, scapring something, opening Setting Menu...).
Everytime a component crashes, most of them is Skin Helper.

I aso tried to revert back to 18.9 but I wasn't able to recreate all the changes I did to your excellent mod.

For info:
I was also having problems with crashing while browsing media files, so to track down the cause I started off with a completely clean install and then gradually added individual movie folders until the skin crashed.

Eventually tracked my problem down to a SINGLE (old) NFO file. The 'Plot' in this included the name Andre, with a French acute accent over the e.

Since removing this accent and then deleting/re-instating 'Movies' as a source, I have not had any more crashes. This includes when using service.library.data.provider, which on installing, previously used to create an instant crash on my set up.

You're welcome! I know I've said it before, but I think now that I'm not using the Textures.xbt file all future updates should install just fine. Fingers crossed...

Let me check the misalignment...I'm thinking it's the same case problem I introduced in the last update. I can look at making custom media flags for sets. I don't think I will make any changes to the media flags, but I will consider your suggestions/improvements. The Oscar images should only appear if the Movie was nominated or won an award.

I've tried to backtrack our exchanges on this extrafanart problem. I did have to change how the Matrix skin handles extrafanart, and it does use Skin Helper to display the images. Let me get some examples ready and I'll have you give them a try.

I am currently restructuring my repo, and I think it's about ready for prime time. The new version (3.0.0) will be available for Krypton, Leia and Matrix and will only display the add-ons that are available/compatible for each release. Stay tuned!

Only for won, but they should be the same amount of winning statues Wink
For the audio/sub info shifting, this could be helpful in shifting also duration director, year, etc... in order to keep the list on the right slimmer.

Nobody claimed the Easter egg from the previous version...dang it! Haha. I'll tell you what it is...if you install the skin from scratch or reset the skin, you will see an animated Matrix background appear as the screen progresses up to 100%.

Image Additions
  • I added a new "HIDE FURNITURE AFTER 10 SECONDS" setting to the Music Viz settings. It is enabled by default.

  • I added code to support Canadian MPAA flags. Open IncludesVariables.xml and search for "BCFCO_A_Certificate_CA". You will see all the new Canadian ratings and all the available rating labels to use to display them. Thanks to Juan Mortyme for the images and the code!
  • I added code to display record labels instead of studio lables for Music Videos. The database entry will still be studio, but it will reference the record label icons.
  • I added code to display an IMAX icon for resolution if you use ".imax." in the video file name. Thanks to simomkd for the request!
  • I added code to display new videocodec icons. Add the following to your file names to display them...appletvplus, disneyplus, hbomax, hulu, netflix, prime. Thanks to simomkd for the request!
  • I added numerous studios to the colored and white studios. Image Bug fixes
  • The Additional Aeon MQ Themes archive was missing the pumpkin theme. You can download the updated theme pack on the first post of this thread. Thanks to christofdarkan for reporting the missing theme!
  • I adjusted the position of the tagline and chapter info in the Full Screen Info for Movies if the setting "SHOW TITLE ON TOP AS:" is set to "LOGO" and the "FULLSCREEN TOP ART" is set to "LOGO, CLEARART, or BANNER".
  • I removed the "player_logoandclearart" variable from the Full Screen Info for Movies. The "value_fullscreen_middleart_movie" variable displays the same images in the same location.
  • The album label and audio codec was not displaying for Layout 7 of Music Viz if you were using the default Audio/Subtitle icons.
  • I added a setting named "MUSIC CODEC" to SKIN SETTINGS > ICONS AND IMAGES that allows you to choose between the default music codec or the colored version if you have installed the resource.images.musiccodec.color add-on. The original code for the skin never fully implemented this option. You will see the colored music codec flag when you highlight a song from a music view.
  • When you disable the "SHOW WEATHER EFFECTS" in SKIN SETTINGS > VISUAL EFFECTS it will now disable the "SHOW SUNNY ANIMATION" setting below it. Thanks to RB0135 for reporting the bug!
  • The poster was not displaying correctly for Music Videos in the Video Info screen. Thanks to Juan Mortyme for reporting the bug!
  • The far right separator was not displaying for Music Videos in the Video Info screen.
  • The "EXTRA KEYART" was not displaying for TV Shows in the Video Info screen.

ImageMaintenance
  • The "sdrhdr" and "bitdepth" flags will not display when a Set is selected.
  • The setting "PUT PROGRESS INFORMATION IN VIEW" in Skin Settings has been renamed to "SHOW PROGRESS INFORMATION IN VIEW" and will now only control the percentage played icon for the Right List view. The watched flag is now only controlled by the "WATCHED LABEL" setting in the Top Menu.
  • I cleaned up the Video Info screen when viewing episodes.
  • I changed the list of Movies to ascending order when viewing Sets in the Video Info screen. I'm still trying to get the Movie titles to display. Thanks to nomnom27 for the request!

There are updated versions of the following add-ons available on my Leia repo...Colored Media Icons, Colored MPAA Icons, Colored Resolution Icons, Colored Studio Icons, Colored Videoaspect Icons, and White Studio Icons.

I have installed this theme just today, however how do i download the latest Update 9? Do i need to download files to replace over my existing skin directory? Or it automatically downloads when i download and apply the MQ8 skin?

@MANswers When you say theme....you mean skin?...if you installed from the repo it will auto update.

Just like any other addon, if you installed the skin from the repo, and have auto-update turned on, it will.

I checked the size of the video playing in the top left of the main menu and it appears to be sized correctly to me.

difficult to explain ...

I go to my albums, see the files (e.g. Adele - Hello) and see the already loaded cover of the album (folder.png) and the logo or, depending on the selection, the clearart. Now I start the title, the full screen starts (here layout 6) with a picture show and view and now it takes between 30 and 120 seconds until the cover of the album title and the logo are also displayed, although it has already been loaded ... Why does it take so long, even though all files are already in the directory?

I'm having trouble getting the clearart or clearlogo to display at all, but the album cover and discart display as soon as I start a song using Layout 6.

Both versions already exist. If you select a Movie that was only nominated for an Oscar, you should see the semi-transparent Oscar image.
