Wine is picky when installing/uninstalling apps. I had the same prob on my test box, had to re-compile wine, remove the .wine folder, install wine, use the winetricks, and then configure it for 2003.

Try running as root as well from the command line.
su root
wine "/home/<user>/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/movieinfoplus/movieinfoplus.exe"

or whatever the path is.. i still haven't figured out the differences, each one of my installs seems to work differently with wine.

And now for the bad news.
First, thanks to everyone that has provided feedback and used MIP. While it's not quite there yet, it's darn close.

Hat's off to the xbmc dev team and everything they have done, it's above and beyond anything I ever expected.

Thanks to all the folks that helped and tested, it's been a great experience.

I have to put development on hold for an unknown amount of time, the svn is up to date with the latest changes. It might only be a few weeks, but it could be alot longer. I haven't given up on this project, I just have no choice right now. That's the beauty of open-source, even if the man takes everything i own, the app lives on!

Signing off for now,
Fekker

Update:
I'll do major bug fixes as they come up, when time permits. And it should only be a month or so 'till I am back up and running again

Thanks for all your hard work on this over the last few months, it is much appreciated by many of us! Smile This application has really evolved in the last few weeks and has some really impressive functionality, and most of it even works! Big Grin . I'm sad to see it come to a halt (hopefully just for a while) but there are other things in life that are more important than writing some code. Good luck in future endeavours.

All the best!

Full support.
Take your time fekker. We can live without you giving us hourly updates but it won't be the same life....

I tried searching and reading the wiki, perhaps I'm blind. But I'm just wondering, is there an option anywhere to rename the movie folders? I have a bunch of movies that have folder names like:

Movie Name [2007]XVID-Groupname

Is there any feature where it can pehaps pull out some of the keywords in the folder name, search IMDB to find the proper movie name or present me with a list of possible choices and change the folder name to:

Movie Name (2007)

If I rename the folder manually it will rename all the files contained within the folder(video file, poster, fanart) itself properly. But doesn't change the actual folder name unless I type it in manually.

Any help would be appreciated.

hi guys, im new on this forum and trying to learn some basic steps about xbmc. i run into the application movie info plus. i m trying to understand the basics how it works. so first thing i did was installing movie info plus Smile. after this i started the program and my gosh, i looked like i needed a hell of a study to config everything Rolleyes. so can someone help my on my way? first thing i already did was adding my folders where my movies are stored. after this i saw my movies in the left bar. when clicking on a movie, the program started download all info from the online databases (great!). first question is how to make the program behave that this will be done automatically from now on. also, is it best to leave the program in auto mode?

thanks! this helped me on my way! only autopilot is not described yet, what does that option do?

how comes that when i open xbmc, that movie info (where the movie is about, who plays in it, year, genre etc etc) isnt showed? for info: i use jesters latest version and the MediaStream skin.

Autopilot, when fixed, is the equivalent of setting the program into download mode, then clicking on every single movie/show in your list. It will scan that movie, download the art/info, then create w/e files are selected under settings.

Sorry bout the wiki not having an entry for it. I went on a writing spree for about a week, then got sidetracked and haven't returned to finish it. Sometime this week...sometime this week...

It depends on the view/skin combination you're using. Some skins/views don't utilize the stored movie info automatically, it has to be accessed via the context menu. Check out Aeon for a bunch of info/media views...

Also, make sure you've scanned your media with XBMC and are set into library mode. If you didn't do those 2 steps, it won't show up either.

Hi,

is it possible to use regular expression syntax here? If not, would it be possible to enable this?

Cheers!
