But before doing so, i'd recommend starting with a clean profile, without any banned add-ons that are indicated as installed by your log. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - noggin - 2015-09-11 (2015-09-10, 16:45)FouxAM Wrote: Hi Matt n Noggin As I mentioned - would be useful to know if the file is VC-1 and if it is interlaced? MediaInfo will tell you if you aren't sure you can tell from the Kodi OSD you get by pressing O during replay. Many concert DVDs and Blu-rays are shot interlaced. (If you disable deinterlacing you will see combing on motion on a native interlace source) RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - michi_jl - 2015-09-11 (2015-09-08, 22:34)busta.rhymes Wrote: i just want it working... but sorry to report that going to 5.08 didnt help either. Came in 2 times today and the device was running again. Well it sems that my issues are gone after switching to ubuntu. (: I would verry much recommend it to you. I followed fritsch's guide, the only difference: instad of this: Code: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:wsnipex/vaapi Code: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:team-xbmc/unstable RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - fritsch - 2015-09-11 If you don't install vaapi and mesa - you will get more problems ... Edit: And the kodi you are now running is 15.0 ... not even here you picked the stable one add ppa:team-xbmc/ppa to get latest stable kodi. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - michi_jl - 2015-09-11 (2015-09-11, 12:18)fritsch Wrote: If you don't install vaapi and mesa - you will get more problems ... Well i didn't use your repo but the official kodi one (as clearly mentioned in my post) so i should be fine right? Also i am talking about another issue here (sporadic wakeups) The kodi i am now running is 15.2-rc1 and that was what i wanted. i know what repo i picked. i only referd to your thread because of the ubuntu server setup guide. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - fritsch - 2015-09-11 Good, then all is fine. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - busta.rhymes - 2015-09-11 @matt Wakeup Issue I dont know if this is any usefull Information for you but i seem to have located the reason for my chromebox waking up. It seems to have been the ps3 bluetooth remote. Either its related to the bluetooth remote or some other bluetooth interfirance since i turned off bluetooth completely and the issue was gone. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - oo_void - 2015-09-12 Well, I'm trying the OpenELEC / ChromeBox route, but not having much luck in terms of display detection. I'm a bit of an edge case compared to most in that I'm using an HDMI splitter to drive as RaspberryPi based Ambilight type system. With my old, nVidia based box using Ubuntu and the exact same routing, I had no problem with the video card seeing a 1920x1080p @ 60Hz capable display, and running 24p when watching content. With the Chromebox running through the splitter, I'm maxing out at 1920x1080p @ 30Hz. Running directly into the display, I can see 60Hz so obviously, the Chromebox is not happy with the splitter in the display path. I can handle xorg.conf fine, but xrandr is new to me. Any ideas as to how to override what xrandr is seeing and force the modes that were working on the old Ubuntu based system? RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - Matt Devo - 2015-09-12 (2015-09-12, 03:57)oo_void Wrote: Well, I'm trying the OpenELEC / ChromeBox route, but not having much luck in terms of display detection. don't use a splitter, use the HDMI output to your display and a DisplayPort->HDMI adapter to feed the ambilight. Or you'll need to clone the EDID data coming from the display and force that to load on startup, but I'm not sure how reliable that is, nor have I ever done it myself. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - oo_void - 2015-09-12 The splitter is sort of key to the whole setup. It lives between the amp and the display and captures signal not only from the XBMC machine, but my XBox One and satellite box. There's got to be a way to make the ChromeBox see what every other device in the chain sees (including the old nVidia / Linux box), a 1920x1080p @ 60Hz capable display. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - loki05 - 2015-09-12 i have done many installs w/no issues, but tonight I received a new asus chromebox and ran the matts awesome script to the T....rebooted, and stuck on a rebooting from hard disk. no esc. so i ctrl alt del and hit esc, and now it reads the usb image...i select the usb, it says something about linux like its going boot to OPENELEC Install (which it has many times before), but NOTHING. I've tried different USBs, even SD cards....but it seems like it wont read the USB/SD image. I tried the recovery route, same thing...it looks like it tries to boot from USB nada. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - oo_void - 2015-09-12 Doh, issue solved. Just used the xorg.conf from http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Configuring_a_Custom_xorg.conf#tab=Intel RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2015/09/05] - busta.rhymes - 2015-09-12 Wake Up Issue So i was asuming that its the old v1 of the ps3 remote because i initialy had a new v2 remote and did not have the problem with my first chromebox. So i went out and got a new version 2 remote. To try if the issue is eliminated. Now i have a question regarding suspend mode... When i suspend the chromebox and then go and wake it up with the remote the remote reacts emidiatly. Even though i set standby mode on. Isnt the remote supposed to hybernate when the chromebox is in suspend? I am scared that i have to put in new batteries like every week. Anyone got any knowledge as to how this works? |
