Bug report:

icons and text missing
Image

Thanks

Known Issue. It's in the Alpha 8 Preview Release "Known Bugs" list. It has to do with the font transition and will be fixed in Alpha 9 due out at the end of the week. The text is actually not missing but since the icons aren't generated due to the fact that the font family that generates those images aren't in Alpha 8, you have to scroll over the buttons to get it to show the text.

Edit - Actually, it looks like the typeface is missing in its entirety for you. It should look like this (taken from the Alpha 8 Preview screenshots post):

Image

It also looks like it didn't even load the cast images for you or the entire bottom section.

RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.2.21 / 4.2.20-alpha8] - Blurayx - 2016-09-16

@Guardian Hope

lol I have no issues with the typeface, I couldn't be bothered at the time to re-scan.

Image

Regarding scrolling over the buttons to get it to show the text. The text only shows the very first time. If I browse the other icons then go back to the first, The text disappears. is that a known issue.

As you can see from the images. Text showing the very first time browsing info. The image above is after browsing the other icons.

Couple of things- I didn't see the bugs reported or anything but here's 2:

1) In music when you bring up the view options dialogue it is totally misaligned vertically. I can't for the life of me find the alignment for the dialogue in the skin files

2) In music, again, for backdrops it's pulling in blank images. Because they're simply blank it's even overwriting the fallback background so the library looks very, very plain. It also displays a blank white image for artist info.

Are these known bugs?

I also noticed the dialogue for TV Channels for out of alignment but sorted that out by adjusting some values quickly.

This is on Jarvis

In he default skin arctic is no such function.
How to do it in a default skin?

And where is this picture?

sorry for my english, I use Google translate))

@molodoy

As for your final question: that's the Netflix UI it's displaying. That's one of the several view options available. You can make AZ:FA look like the Netflix app entirely through the AZ:FA settings. Alternatively, you can make only certain hubs and menus look like Netflix. If you are referring to the image itself since you are using Google Translate: it's a texture packaged into the skin.

We have not returned to PVR functions yet in AZ:FA Danvers but the settings for it are going to be found under the Settings pages again or within the PVR area.

@chiefnerd

Is this a bug report in regards to Jarvis? If it is, Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes on Jarvis (3.x/Dormer) had entered Long Term Support (LTS) status in August and will reach End of Life (EOL) next week with the release of Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes Danvers (Preview Beta 1). Effectively, all support is going to Krypton because it's going to serve as the basis for Arctic Zephyr: For Another Age which brings together Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes Danvers and Arctic Zephyr: Braz.

The not so long winded version of what I'm telling you: upgrade to Krypton. The Music update goes out tonight as Alpha 9. If it's running solid it will become Beta 1. It also addresses issues with Emby. More on that will be in the release post that will be posted when I get a chance (I have a lot of final doctors appointments this week).

I'm really looking forward to the new Music update in Alpha 9 Smile

I can look into the Hubs Ids, from original AZ. I can't tell you when this will happen, but I'm sure Guardian Hope and I can incorporate more options for the Hubs.
Thanks, that would be great!

I am still missing two important things in your beautiful and great mod:
1. I still can't enable "Skin Settings - Furniture - Show Plot overlay after X seconds" which should have been in 3.2.05 according to your post. Wink
[...]
[...]
In regards to plot overlay, both @minus0 and I tried implementing an "X seconds" display using the Skin Helper Service but no matter what we did, AZ:FA wouldn't take to having that option. I had the code reviewed by @im85288 and @marceveldt over on the Emby forums and both said it should be working.
So it is still in the settings but just hidden or is the functionality missing? Braz mod also had it, as far as I can remember. And since @marceveldt has been updated his Skin Helper Service multiple times since the move from emby forums to the kodi forums, it probably is just a little code change, that could it get working. For me it's the second best function after hubs, so all is finally sorted and looking great and you don't need to press info for a quick overview for the plot.
Would love to see it in an upcoming alpha release or the FaA release!
Keep up the good work guys.

Getting a lot av fan noise from my Asus Chromebox (running OE) after changing to this skin, which is a bummer because I love it. Maybe a RAM upgrade would wolve this?

This skin is simply awesome! Any change to get more views for Live TV / PVR?
I find the list to have only a few channels, I would like the list to be smaller and contain like 10-15 items instead of ~5 channels?

Using Kodi Jarvis.

Thanks, keep up the awesome work!

I will add the code snippet to test it in Alpha 9 as a forced option but if it's not working during the test it won't make it into the update and will have to wait until For Another Age. A remarkable amount has been changed from 3.x to 4.x/5.x so if it doesn't work on 4.x/5.x it would take far more in-depth investigation.

From Ashes is definitely resource intensive. It runs on everything from Raspberry Pis to Intel Xeon equipped systems and while it usually does this very smoothly, usually the greatest complaint is the size of the install (~114MB; down from ~140MB) and how resource intensive it can be compared to regular AZ.

However, many people run AZ:FA just fine on a multitude of devices ranging from the Pi and Shield to Android headsets, TVs, and computers. Perhaps check your RAM and CPU usage? You shouldn't see an abnormally large increase in CPU/RAM usage to warrant a lot of fan noise (I run AZ:FA on a 2010 Macbook Pro 13" - that's a dual core system with only 8GB of RAM and an rPi3 which only has 1GB of RAM I believe).

Live TV/PVR changes are scheduled for Arctic Zephyr: For Another Age because it has to be overhauled to match the For Another Age layout anyways. Aiming to have a guide similar to what you would find on an STB or Xbox One's OneGuide. However, those changes are down the road and they won't be coming to Jarvis. Likely, For Another Age will be a mid-cycle Krypton release as Danvers evolves more or less into For Another Age.

Alpha 9 is currently being tested. An Alpha 9.1 hotfix was just submitted today. There's a few additional experimental changes being put into Alpha 9 that will force Danvers to default to Arctic Zephyr: For Another Age's default color scheme plus a few fixes for Emby.

It'll be released to the Update Origin soon (likely Wednesday). A few days later than I had hoped but sometimes necessary.

Thanks for the reply! I will check the CPU/Ram usage, but I find it strange. The Chromebox should be than enough to run it without the fan going mental.

Hey Guys..

at the "normal" Arctic Zephyr Version, which run with Kodi 15, its possible to see Fanart instant off the Channel Logos in LIVE TV. Is it possible to see this Fanarts in Arctic Zephyr From Ashes?! Thank you!
