Normally a submenu would show if you clicked to the left on a main menu item, or maybe a dropdown, or maybe a Categories type submenu. I do see the one Submenu hub (1110) but I dont see any other way to see the other submenus. Is there only one Submenu hub?? So theres no submenus for each menu item? The only way to see the submenu is to make it the action of a main menu item?? I actually really like how the submenu hub looks and works, but i think theres only one submenu you can make for the whole skin correct? Sorry just a bit confused...

There can be a submenu for each main menu item, and as you say the only way to see it is to to make it the action of a main menu item. It's actually a really simple and effective way of doing it once you get the hang of it. You basically just assign Submenu hub (1110) as the main menu item then add the submenu items under the submenu option for that main menu item. It takes a bit of getting used to but if you have a play about with it you should be able to figure it all out.

You can also have a submenu as a widget on the home screen. Just add it like any other widget
It's under Default Widgets > Other > Submenu

In regard to setting the submenu as a home screen widget: have you consider a way for us to set things up so there is only one horizontal set of items, or is that not feasable?

What would go in the empty space?

Would it be possible for the submenu home screen widget to use the Aspect, so if I set it as Poster it displays as Poster view? This would better incorporate the space but I appreciate this may not be possible. Currently it just seems to default to the small submenu view regardless of what is selected in Aspect.

I did try something like that but I didn't like the look of it.

Hello,

Finaly, the debug log for my problem: https://paste.kodi.tv/egekeqobax.kodi

Can you help me?

Full debug log please.

TMDbHelper isn't giving the error - the error is coming from the json python module which TMDbHelper uses. It looks like you're running a non-standard version of that module, which is why you're getting errors (including with other addons like the Amazon one).
Are you running some custom compiled Kodi version?

I can't really help if you're not running the standard versions of modules.

Thanks for your help:

I'm not running any custom Kodi build. It's the Android TV version from playstore on my Shield

What FXB78 posted is what I had in mind, too.
If you’ve tried and it didn’t look right, then that’s ok Smile

Thanks so much!! Another question and I'm not sure if this is by design or a bug. When I'm using the full screen widget and I have the menu pulled out from the left the movie poster changes every few seconds (I have it pointed to random movies). When I hide the side menu then the poster doesn't change but the Clear Logo and the movie ratings show up. They don't show up when i have the menu pulled out.

Thanks, now working Smile

Whilst on the subject of Music, the Genres & Years sections currently seem a bit sparse, I think they just need a few tweaks to bring them in line with other views.

Genres view is missing Artist & Plot/Description. Also the submenus/hubs are limited to four across the top, this could potentially be expanded to six/seven to flow across the full screen:

It seems to be something in your Kodi library database with weird encoding.

Can you try the latest version of TMDBHelper from git? I'm not quite sure what's causing this issue but this update should at least stop the error from preventing TMDBHelper from working.

RE: Arctic Horizon - Rijs43 - 2020-03-26

Hi Jurialmunkey,

Couple of considerations from my side for the skin..

1. Light theme in the future?

2. On widgets, I see the title of movies/series in the 'title' of the widget.. possible to have also the release year of a movie (i.e. latest added movies | Frozen | 2019)?

3. In widget of moviedb helper.. possible to add a 'note' on poster when available in local library? Now we can see only the watched status.. Embuary skin is habing this for your reference

4. Fanart for next episodes rather than clip art.. spoiler alert Smile

5. Movie title and year under poster view in widgets, similair to next up episodes view

Thanks for the great skin!!

how does the backup/restore function work? I copied the settings.xml from device 1 and copied to device 2 and restored the settings.xml but no go.

RE: Arctic Horizon - piscdi - 2020-03-26

Hi  jurialmunkey,

Just a quick note of thanks for the PVR enhancements. I just noticed a reference to them last night (in your latest update), so I immediately downloaded and installed the current version manually (I'm running Matrix so I don't get auto updates from your repository).

I only had a little time to play with it, but it looked fantastic. I like the "S1E1" format you use; its a change of pace from the typical "S01E01". The channel and guide views displayed all relevant info (season, episode and episode title). The timer and timer rules sections look dramatically different from other skins I've tried, but the info is all there, so great job.

Again, I just wanted to thank you for this functionality. Its the one thing that kept me from using your skins, beautiful as they are
Smile .  I can't wait to dive in a little further tonight.

Take care and stay safe.
