Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes Danvers (Preview Alpha 9) - Releases 9/24

In what will likely be the shortest release in history before the next version bump, Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes Danvers (Preview Alpha 9) will be released tomorrow and will hopefully inevitably become Beta 1. There is still a lot of work to be done but with pressing matters (read: moving), time is not something we have an abundance of. Danvers Preview Alpha 9 includes changes to enhance experience with Emby, pretty much adds the Music Hub (thank you @minus0), and has changes so long that if I were to list them right now we'd probably all be here until Monday. I depart on 9/29 which means Beta 1 will go out on 9/28. Test this one, mess around with it, do the craziest things you can think of so we know what's actually still broken.

There will be no "Update Pushed to Origin Post" this time. Sometime tomorrow you will have Alpha 9. I will post the changelog on Monday when I get the chance.

1) I have to Highlight the progress cache end colour to changing the progress cache bar colour

Danvers Preview Alpha 9 Pushed to Update Origin (the post that wasn't supposed to happen)

Okay, since in my infinite wisdom I forgot to re-add some of the fonts back that are required by From Ashes for proper icon displays such as when you get to the video info screen and want to select "Watch Now" I have decided to post this. Danvers Preview Alpha 9 has been pushed to the Update Origin and should be on everyone's devices within the next 2 hours or so. Alpha 9 is missing some required fonts to display certain buttons. You will see this represented as squares. It will be fixed for Beta 1.

You will also noticed the start of mentioning "For Another Age" within this version of the Danvers Preview.

I see that at least @Blurayx got a copy off of GitHub. If you get a copy off of GitHub, make sure "About From Ashes" reads danvers@ade99a3. The "ade99a3" is the final thing to be changed and represents the snapshot of the commit.

Please post all your bug reports and what not ASAP. Beta 1 has to go out 9/28 which isn't much of a turnaround time.

Remember, this update focused primarily on "Music."

You will also find a "public test" version of the Emby addon for Kodi Krypton for those of you that use Emby within the NortheBridge by Design Repository. This is experimental and you should not expect support from Emby. It is intended to provide users moving to Krypton an ease-of-move experience and will be removed when Kodi Krypton hits RC.

Great work and keep it up.

Quick question and one that will probably sound stupid- I always see the Hub items in the settings but how on earth do you use them? I can't find any way of linking to the items from the Menu editor- only to MOvie library etc...am I missing something extremely simple?

On your request.
1. I kind of had a feeling that this would be requested for option. Could add button in SkinSettings for this one.

2. I don't have Apple TV, so I don't know how it is displayed. If you could supply screenshot, I would appreciate it.

3. I see your arrow, so are you referring to the height of the bottom bar or the Labels. I would suggest we wait on Guardian Hope's new Home Screen layout.

4. I was actually going to put the player controls there, and they would include a Full screen Button.

You can go to SkinSettings > Home> Customize Home Menu, then you can select to add an item, go to Commons, then select what type of Hub, Movie or TV then you can customize what you want in your Hub. Hope this helps

I'm going to leave the rest at your discretion but for point 3, that's part of the global furniture. It's why the home screen is also positioned like that. If I get the chance, I am going to move the menu bar further down and thus the background as well but For Another Age will effectively erase all of that since For Another Age's home screen will effectively force a redesign with a For Another Age view.

However, for Beta 1 no one will see that as I have too many things to wrap up before 9/29. Beta 1 must be released by 9/28 - otherwise Alpha 9 will be what's there until October 23rd.

Minus0, I'm sure I looked there but I'll check again.

Anyone have any idea how to add a widget path to an advanced launcher launcher? Widget paths kind of confuse me so usually use the side blade add custom widget but there's no side blade showing in advanced launcher.

I can look into advanced launcher. Probably was never fully implemented in the old AZ:E Will let you know what I find.

One word of warning with the Emby addon for Kodi (version 2.2.36) that is in your repo: It does not sync the movie year to Kodi, even if it correctly populated in your Emby server. I opened an issue in the Emby forums, but it was closed since they will not support Krypton until it reaches RC.

Thanks minus0, I've managed to mod some of the views to work with boxes like snes and screenshots so would be cool having widgets. Don't suppose you know to get the information menu to popup in advanced launcher?
