That's ok. I can live with this until I get a new TV Wink

Great skin as always but I gotta be honest, I don't like the new home menu.

When I click 'Movies' and the submenu (New Movies, Genres, Years) pops up underneath it just doesnt look or feel right to have the main menu and submenu items occupy the same portion of screen at the same time. Items from different hierarchies should be delineated or separated in some way.

I think either the sub menu items should be position to the right, or else the main menu should go away (fade or slide) when the sub menu items appear.

The more excuses the better Wink The reason for the paths not working after changing XBMC system language is clear to me btw, a fix for it will be in the next update.

That is good to hear. Ironing out the bugs Big Grin

I've got one more feature request for you. If you would be so kind Angel
Is it possible to have some kind of timeshift indication for live TV. I've seen skins that indicate the amount of time that live tv is behind using a different color in the "progress bar"...

RE: reFocus 1.1.2 for Gotham - Jeroen - 2014-05-26

In the EPG or on the OSD?

I don't have a PVR setup to test these things and I am postponing work on the PVR until some planned big changes in XBMC are done, but if you can give me some examples I'll see what I can do.

As a test I enabled "Use a folder of images as background slideshow" when playing something. When I stop playback it is still showing the images I selected.

Sorry... I forgot to tell you "disabled add-on artist slideshow"

Steps:
-Reset skin to default setting (not necessary, but...)
-Enabled "Use a folder of images as background slideshow" (not use backgrounds folder in the skin folder, i use a net folder)
-Disabled Add-on artist slideshow
-Go to home screen, you can see the slideshow of images on selected folder
-Go music and playback something
-Go to home screen, and you see the slideshow of images on backgrounds skin folder (skin.refocus/backgrounds)
-Go to menu (M) and stop playback, you see again the images on selected folder in "Use a folder of images as background slideshow"

Can you test it, please?

I mean on the OSD. Click the image to view in full size.

Notice what I did in the timeline. The green, you can use any color you like of course, indicates the time that live TV is behind. E.g. that is the amount of time I can fast forward.
The green would move forward in real time while the position indicator is behind and moving forward as well. I could fast forward until I reach the end of the green...

I think you get the idea.

In the upper right corner you show the finish time. This should/could be calculated: normal finish time + amount of time behind...

I can imagine this is not easy to implement. I'm not even sure something like this is possible with XBMC. I think I saw this in Media Portal once and I really liked it.

*update* XBMC does not support showing this yet according to this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=187521&pid=1654295#pid1654295 But when it does ReFocus should make use of it.

I can give you temp access to a working PVR enviroment if wanted?

Regarding PVR. I noticed the DefaultTimer.png always being visible even if show recordings is disabled in settings.

/edit:
I also noticed that you can't have scheduled recordings without Time and Weather enabled.
Maybe something to think about Wink

When I get to the part I made bold above, the homescreen is showing fanart (local fanart, not artist slideshow add-on) of the currently playing artist. When I stop playback I see the images in the folder I selected in step 2 again.

I also tested playing music by an artist that I have no fanart for. In that case I see the images from the folder selected in step 2 all the time. Maybe another variable has an effect on this too, I'll try some more things tomorrow.

The only small problem I encountered here is that the artist fanart is showing even though "show now playing item in homescreen" is not enabled. Even though the info isn't displayed I guess it doesn't really make sense to show the fanart in that case.

Ah yeah, that's not possible at the moment. But when it gets added to xbmc I'm sure I'll add it to reFocus.

Unfortunately the skinning engine doesn't allow any basic calculations. I can only check for > and < ,things like that

Thanks, that would be great, but I want to wait for the PVR window changes to be merged in XBMC before I'll really dive into it again.

Yeah, I forgot to set a condition on the icon. I'll look into this and:

Quote:I also noticed that you can't have scheduled recordings without Time and Weather enabled.

needs a proper fallback variable

Cheers

reFocus for Gotham is great, I love the modern flat design. Smile But is there a chance that you add a bigger font like the big fonts of mods of your old reFocus design like reFocus BIG oder reFocus light? I don't think that there is a mod like them of the modern Gotham design in sight and if you add one there is no need for a mod with big fonts anymore because it's part of your original skin. Smile

RE: reFocus 1.1.2 for Gotham - master345 - 2014-05-27

Great skin.

Will there ever be the following:
1) More Customisation of the main menu add custom items in their own main menu section rather than being hidden in sub menus?
2) Themes like black leather or lime like in BIG mod?
3) Background fanart in for individual mov/ies in movies rather than the default blue background?
4) Bigger font like poster above mentions

How finished is this skin from your vision?

Thanks

Can't say I have any plans for it, but tweaking the font sizes to your liking should be very easy to do in fonts.xml.

Using the current home menu code: no. Somewhere down the line, using a more flexible way to code it (by using an add-on): possibly. But it's not a necessity or priority for me at the moment, the menu does everything I want. I think this has been discussed enough now.

Quote:2) Themes like black leather or lime like in BIG mod?
Possibly. But this also, is really easy to do yourself. The skin.refocus/colors/Defaults.xml file is pretty well documented.

Quote:3) Background fanart in for individual mov/ies in movies rather than the default blue background?
There is fanart in movies. The overlay is there to keep stuff actually readable. This skin utilizes fanart in many other places in a much more sensible and useful way imo.

Quote:4) Bigger font like poster above mentions
See above.

Quote:How finished is this skin from your vision?
It's never finished. As for being a mature, polished skin with no critical bugs I guess you can say it's finished in a way. But new things get added to XBMC, so new things are going to be added to reFocus. But there are no parts missing or not done at the moment, it's a >1.0 release for a reason.

It's in it's evolutionary stage at the moment I guess.

RE: reFocus 1.1.2 for Gotham - master345 - 2014-05-28

Thanks Jeroen.

You have made a great skin here.

I will look into fonts.xml modding.

RE: reFocus 1.1.2 for Gotham - mkvelidadon - 2014-05-28

How can I enable fanart background on the home menu? The option is grayed out for me.

RE: reFocus 1.1.2 for Gotham - Jeroen - 2014-05-28

Then you don't have (the required version of) the Fanart Grabber add-on installed. This add-on should be installed automatically. What XBMC version are you on? Did you install reFocus through the repository add-on? If not, how did you install?
