I ran a test of .48 last night and did not encounter any problems. Nice!

Great to hear! As far as we know we have one bug and one small feature to add, then we'll be ready for our stable release. Hope you get the skin issue figured out, I'm happy to help in any way I can!

Hi, The report I made of the value sliders not displaying correctly based on their assigned value is still a problem in .48. I deleted the settings and started over, but those sliders are all wrong. I am currently using the Isengard Aeon MQ5 skin. I tested with Confluence, and although not as bad, still they're off. But they are much worse in the MQ5 skin. Are you not seeing similar?

Sorry to hear that, leejk. I've taken a look at the code, and spoken to the developer about this issue. I don't believe it's a problem with CinemaVision, because we're using standard Kodi slider controls for all of the sliders. Slider controls are a skinnable item, like any other control in Kodi. I believe we need to rely on the skinners to fix the way the slider controls look in their skins. I'm using Arctic: Zephyr at the moment, and all of the sliders look just fine. The problem appears to be with your specific skin. None of the others I chose at random to test are having any issues, as you can see from the screenshots below:

FYI I responded to poster's problem on my support thread here: 2127400 (post)

My assessment is that the poster does not like the sliderex control used in Aeon MQ5 skin because the "nub" is wider than typical in other skins. Since the nub is defined by a skin media image file, any user can edit the files to suit their taste. In fact, the skin is delivered without the files being compressed into xbt so it is as easy as opening any of the image files in your editor of choice such as GIMP. Further, any user is free under the CC license to edit any or all of those icons/images and texturepack them into an xbt file which can be shared and installed by any user by using the appearance setting skin theme option. There are various theme packs out there from users and certainly worth experimenting with if someone wants to personalize a skin (MQ5 or any other).

thanks

Looking forward to putting 0.48 through extensive testing this weekend, but for me things have been pretty stable for quite a while.

The only issue I've had lately is loading the we page.

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - fryster - 2015-10-10

Many thanks for carrying on the great work started with the original home cinema experience program. Is there any way to choose the trivia slides folder? That way I can select which slides to display based on different scenarios.

Many thanks!

0.48 worked flawlessly tonight for Movie Night. Just one question: Is it possible for local trailers to be configured to Match Genre and/or Match Feature Rating? If so, I'd appreciate a short tutorial on how to accomplish this. If it isn't possible, no big deal.

Every time i change my content path the trailers from Apple iTunes wouldn't work and demo mode the work like a charm

The Log for update on my Hyperion testing can be found here http://pastebin.com/wpCVEbHx
I have success issuing my hyperion-remote commands via Putty but when I try to issue them via a .cvaction file I get a blank screen when executing the script. The script will exit normally if i press x on the keyboard.
when I issue the command via putty i get the following response
hyperion-remote --color ffffff --print
Connected to localhost:19444
Set color to 255 255 255
Comand: {"color":[255,255,255],"command":"color","priority":100}
Reply: {"success":true}

Can someone tell me why you would have trailers stored on your HD? I don't get it. It kind of doesn't make sense to me. The way I see it, those trailers would get "old" fast wouldn't they? They would kind of be outdated pretty quickly....not to mention the storage space that it takes to store them. Maybe I should share how I have my system set up and what I think the idea is behind it.

I have a NAS that stores my movies that I rip. After I watch the ripped movie, I delete them if it isn't worthy of watching again some other time. As time goes by, and I cant keep up with watching what I have ripped, my library grows. When I find the time to watch more movies, I utilize CV to give me the theater experience. But sometimes the movie that I finally decide to watch (cause its been in my library for a while) is maybe a few years old. Why would I want to watch trailers that are a few years old. Wouldn't you want to see movie trailers that are current and movies that are coming out so you could add them to your library to watch at a later time. This process would snowball and your library would grow but you would have a wide range of movie genres that would satisfy what ever you're in the mood for.

It seems that streaming movies with current releases would give anyone the best experience. The kids love to watch the new trailers and say "we have to see that". They wouldn't be as excited if they already watched a movie. You don't get the same experience when you're about to sit down to watch a movie that you may have recently rented/ripped and then watch a trailer for something like "Cars" or "The Incredibles". That's yesterdays news. I want to see a trailer for something that will be out this Christmas or during the upcoming summer.

The only reason why you would want trailers stored on your system is if you don't have a broadband connection to stream the new releases. That would be the only reason that I could think of....but come on, who doesn't have broadband anymore! Wink

If I understand it correctly, CV will only stream genre specific trailers if you specify it that way. So you still get age appropriate trailers when watching a film during family movie night.

I agree with you if you watch trailers to get the latest releases.

But I don't use trailers that way. I have local trailers for my local movies, so when watching with CV, we're watching trailers to pick out what to see next.

Carl.

Hhmmmm. Could you expand on that. What do you mean by local movies? This is intriguing.

Bill

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - nickr - 2015-10-12

Local movies, the ones on your system, whether that's your kodi system hard drive or your nas. In other words he wants trailers for what he can see now, not what is on at the movies now or in a few months.

Thanks for the info, Scott. That's super helpful to know. I didn't really know where to go with it, so I'm glad you stepped in to educate us.

Sorry to hear that. Are you using your ISPs DNS servers or something like Google or OpenDNS?

You're very welcome! That functionality isn't in the current release, and will be a huge addition after we've hit version 1.0. We plan to add the ability to create playlists of files and filter them based on metadata like genre, rating, year, subject matter and whatever else we come up with. It's a pretty huge change to the way we're doing it, so it's going to take some development to get there. For the initial release, we just wanted something that worked and added some functionality like removing the XML requirement and allowing you to change transitions and skip between slides.

Great to hear! Yes it is. You can set those settings universally in the add-on configuration under the Trailers menu, or you can set it per module in the Trailers module in your sequence. Once set, it will try to match genre and rating for every scraper you're using, streaming or local.

Can I get a log from you? I'm not sure what you're experiencing. Make sure you've updated to the latest version, 0.0.48 when you test. The content path shouldn't have any bearing on streaming trailers at all. That's all controlled via the Trailers module.

What do your action files for Hyperion look like? It might be a syntax issue, but it also might be something we aren't taking into account that we need to add to the way action files are handled.

For some reason it works now! Maybe because I restarted Kodi?

Anyhow it works like a charm and also the Homeseer integration works great!

Thank you for this great addon

Or maybe we have trailers strored on our HDDs because those said trailers are automatically played whenever you scroll over a movie, like tvtune themes do. That's the way my system is set up. Wink
