FYI; I had experienced the issue prior to upgrading RAM from 2GB to 4GB (Asus Chromebox). This is running Matt's FW with a plain Ubu 15.10 instance (no EGL-VAAPI build stuff). RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2016/01/03] - rmilyard - 2016-01-04 So maybe someone here can help me out. I have an Asus ChromeBox running OpenELEC 5. I use WiFi and have advancedsettings.xml that use for MySQL and have all movies on my FreeNAS server. Whenever I upgrade this box to OpenELEC 6 it turns off the WiFi on boot. I have to turn it back on but then doesn't read the advancedsettings.xml. So when I reboot it turns off WiFi again. I have on systems on 6 that aren't Asus system and worked file. It's only this Asus ChromeBox. If I go back to OpenELEC 5 it works fine. Ideas as to how to fix this? I'll try and take a look at your logs later today. None of the other Kodi/OE devs frequent this thread so IRC is probably your best bet to get someone's attention. Perhaps an addon is causing the issue? (2016-01-04, 18:35)rmilyard Wrote: So maybe someone here can help me out. I have an Asus ChromeBox running OpenELEC 5. I tired the OpenELEC-iwlwifi-7260-9.ucode-Generic.x86_64-6.0.0 and still have same issue. Not sure what mean backport or custom build. Right, because that's not the problem, given that we don't have the Intel 7260 WiFi card. The source of the problem hasn't yet been identified. Back porting is taking a fix from a newer version and applying it back to an older version. But it looks like fritsch just quit the forum and dev community. I posted it in case someone else steps up, but I'm tempted to just go back to Kodibuntu stable or maybe OpenELEC (despite inferior performance) since this is basically a dealbreaker bug. Matt, I'm using the Millhouse build you posted earlier in the thread. Is there a good reason to switch over to Fritsch's build referenced above? The Millhouse build seems to be pretty stable so far. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2016/01/03] - Matt Devo - 2016-01-05 (2016-01-05, 06:46)wongnog Wrote: what is the long boot issue? the 12/20 standalone firmware took an extra 5s to start up before video init; the firmware filesystem had been reorganized between the 11/30 and 12/20 releases, but the firmware header wasn't at the top of the flash, so it took time to locate the header and map the addresses correctly. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2016/01/03] - ilovethakush - 2016-01-05 Hey Matt, just wondering. Are you running 6.0.98 on your chromebox or a test build, and if it's a test build, the latest one? or which one? I know you said you're running a fritsch build... Also, do you usually watch interlaced or progressive content? Haven't seen a compelling reason to potentially destabilize a perfectly working system with a test version dev boxes have whatever I'm testing at the time. I have a full suite of test files, all resolutions, codecs, interlaced/progressive, etc. |
