Are you sure you've added anything to your Favourites?

yes .. i have 5 objects there .. i have tried to remove them .. and re-add them .. but still when i go to skin settings and "select favorites for custom item"
the favorites window that open up is empty.
i tried 2 older version and still the same results ... shaking my head here .. lol

I think I can help: you need the favorites script that some skins seem to install. I went through a fresh (OpenELEC) setup the last days and had the same problem with Xeebo not showing my favorites. After copying the favorites script from the addons folder of my old setup into the new installation it worked again.

Thanks TheHazel3yes, that does indeed seem to be the problem - when I added the feature I forgot to make the favourites script a requirement.
Sorted for the next release.

As you are on Windows, the path should be "C:\Program Files\XBMC\addons\" according to this thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=78892
There's a link to the script in this thread too. I don't know if there are different versions (Dharma, Eden, ...) of the script however.

Major change is the Home screen - you can now choose from 7 different content types.
- Recommended TV Shows (Displays the next unwatched episode of your ongoing TV shows)
- Recommended Movies (Displays movies you haven't finished watching yet)
- Recently Added Movies (Displays movies recently added to the library)
- Recently Added Episodes (Displays episodes recently added to the library)
- Recently Added Albums (Displays albums recently added to the library)
- Random Items (Displays 2 random movies, 2 random episodes and 2 random albums)
- Favourites Items (Displays your own custom items)

I just upgraded from 2.4.4 to 2.5.2.
I really miss the counts that were to the left of the show names in 'TV Show' mode. I sometime have empty folders (SickBeard does this) and it's nice to know if there are shows in a folder.
I like the new home row content options (random, recent, favorite, etc), but I like the left bar persistence of the alternate layout.
