Color selector is in skin settings under the Colours section. There you can select the three different items. The file for the color selector will bring up a smaller panel which just looks better and performs better, in my opinion.

If you want to use it I can post a link again. Also would you be interested in having the ability to change any other items in the skin?

Thank you. I couldn't believe I kept missing that. I did indeed find it and found that it won't let you select any changes: only the "Default," "Dark with Light Dialogues," and "White" settings on the main skin settings page only allow you to change the settings right now.

I will definitely have to take a further look into it as it does appear to be referencing the right code to bring up the dialogue to select a color but it's not doing it: possibly because somewhere else in the skin is referencing another piece of the code that's incorrect. I'm going to have to hunt that down it seems. I need to look where I placed the new view selector in the last release; it is likely there where I can fix it.

I do already have your file downloaded and already placed it in 16x9 but as I said: I still need to find the pieces of code that are preventing the dialogue from even showing up in the first place.

No need to be an Emby users to use the skin. You just need Emby's Beta Repository which is for Jarvis only. That way you have access to the one script this modification of the skin relies on which is not in the Kodi repo for some reason. I might try to get in contact with the author to see if he's willing to submit it to Kodi's repo.

P.S. Link to the repository is in the first post. It actually has a lot of great other addons as well whether you are an Emby user or not.

The Beta version of Emby's repository is designed for Kodi Jarvis; it's where all the Jarvis compatible modifications were put. You do not actually need Emby to run this modification, you just need it's beta repository. It's up to the user if they want to install Emby. I find it enhances Kodi's experience far more but I transitioned from WMC to Kodi when WMC was dropped by MS.

You either need to install http://www.mb3admin.com/downloads/addons/xbmb3c/kodi-repo/script.imdb250.view/script.imdb250.view-0.0.5.zip or follow the first post and install the Emby Beta Repo which has that prerequisite in it. After that, you can install the skin either from Emby's Beta Repo, Git, CDN, or however else you'd like. That should get you going on Windows 7. It's up to you if you want to grab the Emby addon itself which requires Emby Server of course.

I have never tested this on an Android Tablet nor do I own one (nor do I ever want to own one - I am far more happier with my iPads). It should work as people run this on the nVidia Shield which is Android based.

RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis) [3.2.02 - Updated 2/23/2016] - zaphtpc - 2016-03-02

Installed the skin but can't get background slideshows (IMDB top 250 etc.) to play at home menu.

FYI, as far as I know, I choose what "skin playlist" by navigating Skin Settings>Home>customize home menu>Select background.

Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

@Guardian Hope

You said that none of the color selections are working for you. That is so strange, because I am running AZ:FA on Windows 10 and I am able to select any of the three items in the Colours section of skin settings, and change them to any colors in the four palette choices. Don't know what's going on?

This may be categorized into the "Known Issues" or may be depreciated. I'm not sure how comfortable I feel with not having everything in the Kodi repository in terms of requirements.

I will look into it however and any logs you can provide may be helpful. It may be related to the fact spotlight widget functionality on the home screen does not work right at the moment either. It is still in the "pre-release" software stage but many people are being very helpful to get this skin back on its feet!

No, they are not working for me at all with the new script. I may be on a different version of Windows 10 then you however: I run the Pro Insider Preview Fast Ring builds (which are usually fairly stable but obviously destined to change before the flight reaches the regular users). I will try it on my Mac and a "normal" Windows 10 Pro VM. If it works there then I will definitely give it the green-light as it could just be a Windows issue (there are currently shell problems in the latest Insider Fast Ring).

I will also look at my own debug logs to see what Kodi is reporting [if anything] when trying to select different highlights.

Could you please set you Kodi log level to "debug" and try installing the theme again and then attach the log file so that I may see what error your are encountering.

Since technically AZ:FA is still in "pre-release" stage, there's bound to be a few issues like this but I want to make sure that all installation issues are hammered out.

The last time that error message came up without any forewarning as it does in your case was due to a dependency that found its way back into the addon.xml file after it was removed because of bringing the last of the back-ports over.

I will attempt to recreate your problem on a Windows 7 VM albeit with a bit more than four CPU cores (more like 24) with a fresh install of Windows 7 but as others are able to install I am not sure of the likelihood of reproducing your problem but I will exhaust every avenue to see why it's coming up. I have a blacklist of old addons that I'll compare addon.xml to in order to ensure nothing made its way back in.

Just to verify (and I know this is repetitive) but you have Emby's Beta Repository (you don't need the server unless you want it) installed as well?

RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis) [3.2.02 - Updated 2/23/2016] - Guardian Hope - 2016-03-10

Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes 3.2.03 (Hotfix #3) is now in QA testing and will be released late tomorrow Pacific Time.

Color Selector has been verified to be working with the new enhanced color selection courtesy of @minus0.
Dependencies have been updated to ensure continued compatibility.
"About From Ashes" Button Now Directs to "Custom_Bluestone.xml"

Currently In Testing: Verification of Fix for Installation Issue

I am just getting a vSphere Enterprise Plus 6 node updated with a new set of 40GbE Line Cards and update Windows to verify the installation fix.

I do not own an Android device so I have no way of testing it except maybe getting the Android Emulator or using an x64 port of Android.

@Guardian Hope

I run Android on my home theater system. Can test it for you, if you don't mind.

I have been using Artic Zephyr for a few weeks now since I got a Google Nexus player. I love the simple clean look of the skin. My only problem is; I can't figure out how to add new repos in the Zephyr settings. Anyone know?

@minus0

That would be greatly appreciated. Here's the working branch for the next hotfix on Git: https://github.com/NortheBridge/skin.arctic.zephyr.fromashes/tree/3.2.03

I can confirm that the installation issue is still occurring but I have gone through all decencies and they all exist in the two required repos (Kodi & Emby Beta). The previous author of this mod (@im85288 and @badaas of Eunique) has this problem and they never figured out what caused it but it just fixed itself on its own.

Right now, the only way to install is the manual way.

@oscarc74

Yes, that's fairly simple:

Settings -> Addons -> Install From Zip. Find Emby's Beta Repo and you'll have the repository activated automatically.

RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis) [3.2.02 - Updated 2/23/2016] - minus0 - 2016-03-11

@Guardian Hope

Here is what I encountered so far,
Tried to install over previous version, did not work.
Tried fresh install, failed due to "script .imdb250.view" missing. Installed the script first, then tried install of AZ:FA again. Every other script loaded fine, then hung on 19% and would not finish. I had to manually install.

Once installed I went to "skin settings" and then to Colours section. Only 3 selections appear. There were no resets to Default showing. Tried all 3 color selections, the new Color Picker box came up, allowed me to make any selection, but would not change to any new colors. Colors remain as Orange for "main highlight", Pink for "secondary highlight" and White for "text".,

Also when I tried the "About from Ashes" button nothing happens. Just reloads back to selection box.

To confirm, you tried to install 3.2.03 over 3.2.02 and it failed? If that's the case, there has been no significant code changes and I tried the 3.2.02 install which also failed. Nevertheless, a manual install appears to function normally.

I'm starting to examine the zip package itself now. When you try to zip it with Windows Zip rather than WinRAR it will fail quoting a file with an invalid character (an image texture). That problem has been there since the original AZ:FA Preview release but not it didn't seem to effect anything one way or another. Nevertheless, it's clear that AZ:FA is not installing properly.

I have been able to change the colors even on a manual install on Windows 10 Pro (fresh Kodi) at least. I also downloaded the Android Studio Emulator with Android N but by the sounds of it this skin is in worst shape on Android than any other platform.

The problem is that Kodi's debug log isn't very descriptive as to what's going on. It just says it can't reach the "addon description" but the addon description file doesn't appear to be invalid for Jarvis at all.

Compounding the frustrations of this is that my main and secondary routers are failing (dropping LAN: I can't even bind a static IP) so I have to wait for new routers and switches.

This should give me time to tear the skin a part and try to find what's going on but if anyone (and I do mean anyone) has any suggestions or ideas I am all ears.

Finally, the "About From Ashes" page (if I pushed the changes) should lead to a blank page with nothing on it.

I am going to work on the Color Picker. Will try to find why it won't work on Android
