RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - gillmacca - 2016-11-25

running spmc 16.4.2, I am unable to download anything from the repo.
Have tried all 3 links in the first page.
The first link fails to install, and the other 2 links there is no content to select in the repo.
Only way I can install it is manually, but then it cannot be updated through spmc

I just checked on Windows with a clean install of Kodi 16.1 and it loaded the repo and the addon ok.

Github can be a bit temperamental sometimes.
Sometimes you need to uninstall the repo and re-install it, for some reason.
I don't know why. Maybe Github is busy doing something.

The first one. The repo zip.

Guess I'm stuck with download each new version manually, because it shows not zip file to download

What device are you downloading the zip file from?
Have you tried http instead of https?

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - gillmacca - 2016-11-25

That solved it. http worked. thanks.
Another question though (sorry..lol)
If I go to stream setup and addons, the screen is blank, except for up and down arrows (blank space inbetween). I can access my addons by browsing

Use the Stream Setup \ Browse \ Add Folder button to add a folder full of streams to your addons.ini file.

The next time you open Stream Setup they should be in the Addons tab.

If there is a match with the Channel you want to play it should either pick it or show you a list of matches.

You can also load the addons.ini from somewhere else in Settings \ Optional.

The file lives in:
userdata\addon_data\script.tvguide.fullscreen\addons.ini

There is Settings \ Appearance \ Channel Matching to set how fuzzy you want the search to be.

Can I just edit the <provides><provides> in addon.xml to put Tv Guide Fullscreen into the video add-ons category in Krypton?

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - donbrew - 2016-11-25

Answer my own question:YES!

I tried that but something didn't work right that way. I can't remember what. Maybe it was linking to it from a shortcut or favourite.
SPMC seems to be more picky about shortcuts than Kodi for some reason.

You can try but I can't make it user configurable.

Try it yourself and if you can find a way to make it work properly I'll add it in.

I tried it. I changed the provides to video, it worked.

I compared tv guide fullscreen addon.xml to tv guide dvr (which is a video addon by default) there are other differences, but that seems to be what makes it move.

I know it works. I think it was like that in one of the early versions of TV Guide Fullscreen but something was wrong.
It was either that something in Kodi interprets the script. name as a Program Executable for some situations,
or it was that Kodi treats some of the program items as Video links and tries to find the images for them in the background.

Try turning debug logging on and have a look in the log file.

After new functions were implemented in version 0.194, I could no longer run the guide normally. It takes more than 10 min to load and then each page loads again. Plus my whole system slowed down and crashed.
Libreelec Linux 64bit, skin Titan JarvisBeta .92 and tested in Confluence.

Check you are up to 0.0.199, "Refresh on Start" is off and "File download interval" is more than "every start".

Test it with the Background Service off to start with.

It that doesn't fix it, try a Settings \ Reset Database \ EPG Data Reset.

If you're still having problems send me a full log and I'll see what is wrong.

There have been a few teething troubles with the Background Update Service.

Thanks @primaeval, it's everything ok again, very fast now.

A few quick questions as I'm switching over to make this my main guide:

- Is there any way to remove (what I assume are) the timestamps on each guide listing? They don't show up in the other guides I use the same XML file with:
Image

- Any way to save the current stream that's playing when entering the TV Guide? I'd like to be able to swap between 'Previous Channels' if something is playing as I enter the guide and then select something within the guide. Right now the feature only works if you select two streams after entering the guide.

- There doesn't seem to be a way to go back to Fullscreen when something is playing in the PIP window and the setting where 'BACK' exits the addon is on. Maybe clicking on the currently playing channel in the guide could simply go Fullscreen instead of reloading the stream? Or pressing 'c' when something is currently playing will swap back and forth between Fullscreen and Guide?

- Any thoughts on making the 'hotkeys' user configurable? For instance, it would be cool to be able to map the Number 1-9 keys to different categories.

Thanks!
