I could swear volume functions as normal on my Wetek box, even though I use passthrough. Maybe I should check.

EDIT: Yes, only during actual playback of a DD/DTS file should the volume refuse to be adjustable.

So is this the same behaviour as with reFocus? Because I remember changing it to accomodate passthrough there

Default used, all was ok with 1.2.14, updated today to 1.2.16 and then it happened.

Just installed the skin a few days back, loving it. having been a devoted fan of refocus, this is quite awesome.
one question I have is, even though the "hide empty tv show folders" option is marked for me, I still see them. cleaning or updating the library doesn't do anything.
using any other skin, they don't show, so i'm assuming it's something in the skin?

any idea on how to fix this would be helpful, cheers!

Thanks! I can't reproduce this issue though? I have a whole bunch of dummy tv show folders in my sources so that I have enough testing data for things like the Next Aired add-on and none of them are showing up for me when I have "hide empty tv show folders" enabled, and they show up when I disable it again.

Also, as this is a Kodi setting it would surprise me if skins could override this (unless intentionally setting out to perhaps).

Any idea what I should do then ? any extreme steps I could take?

RE: Grid - Luke Cage - 2017-09-06

@Jeroen
I added a Trailer button to DialogVideoInfo.xml which pops the trailer in a dialog window with videowindow control (over the Video Info window) next to the poster image. This works as expected.
Hitting the X-key to quit the playing trailer is handled correctly, and I'm dropped back to the Video Info window.
The problem is that all buttons defined in Video Info window (Trailer, Play, Extended Info, etc) still get processed. (Even when I add the OSD popup (m-key) to the playing trailer.)
So it looks like both windows receive (or listen to) keyboard input.

Could you give me a hint of how to disable the buttons and i-key in the Video Info window for as long the Trailer dialog window is visible ?

RE: Grid - Krismyklebust - 2017-09-06

@Jeroen I want to say thank you for creating such an amazing skin.
Easily one of the most tidy and clean skins I've ever tried. Smile

Questions (feel free to ignore them if you don't have time to reply)

Could you tell me the window ID used for the Movie/TV Shows synopsis (the screen you can access by pressing up in the information screens).
I want to add it to a custom keymap using "SetFocus(x)".

In the video information screen I can see the file path to the movie/tv show at the bottom of the screen.
Is this something I can hide and is it a skin setting I haven't found?
I'm looking at the photos on the first page of this thread and I can't see a file path in the photo you've posted, hence the question.

Suggestions

Gallery view:

I use the "Gallery" view type. Would you consider shifting the text up a bit to make room for a few extra lines of text, or would that ruin the esthetics?
Also, in the same view, do you have any plans of adding a way to show which movie or tv show you've already seen? Some sort of non-intrusive icon or something, perhaps?
Or possibly some text along the lines of "X Unwatched Episodes"? I guess the problem would be to find a spot for it...

Homescreen widget:

Again, I'm using "fullscreen" widgets.
If we compare the "fullscreen" widget to the "gallery" view used elsewhere in the skin, the latter has an extra line of text. Should the text be moved up a bit in the widget to allow for the same amount of text?

Also, as far as I know, there's no way you can see the "widget names" if you use this view. I know how you feel about requests at this point, but since there's no way to see the widget name I'll be a bit bold and come with a suggestion... =X
Something like this would be sweet (ignore the "25" in the top left corner, I've taken a screenshot from a custom playlist I made):

Again, thank you for your hard work.
Every day there's a new update to the skin feels like christmas morning.
LOVING the skin so far Smile

I'll check tonight.

EDIT: Same behaviour in reFocus as far as I can see.

Run a debug log while changing the setting and I'll take a look.

You're going to need something to move focus to in the custom window. So I would put an invisible button in the custom dialog and set an onload in the custom window to focus on that button (use allowhiddenfocus="true"). That should prevent the focus staying on the button in the video info screen. You could also try using ActivateWindowAndFocus on the button in dialogvideoinfo.xml but I believe that function doesn't work in custom windows. Not completely sure about that though.

That's DialogTextViewer.xml. Window ID=147

No, there's no setting for that. I removed it for the screenshot as it was showing a remote path to my content. Not comfortable with sharing my external IP with the world Wink

Quote:I use the "Gallery" view type. Would you consider shifting the text up a bit to make room for a few extra lines of text, or would that ruin the esthetics?
Well, for every bit the text moves up the bigger the overlay behind the text needs to be for readability reasons. Which as a result also covers up more of he fanart, and kind of defies the reason for having this viewtype which is really centered around showing off the artwork.

Quote:Also, in the same view, do you have any plans of adding a way to show which movie or tv show you've already seen? Some sort of non-intrusive icon or something, perhaps?

This is already there, unless I misunderstand what you mean?

Yeah, that makes sense. I'll have to see how that'll work out for the wide layout for widgets as the text layout for the fullscreen layout is shared with the wide layout IIRC.

Quote:Also, as far as I know, there's no way you can see the "widget names" if you use this view. I know how you feel about requests at this point, but since there's no way to see the widget name I'll be a bit bold and come with a suggestion... =X
Something like this would be sweet (ignore the "25" in the top left corner, I've taken a screenshot from a custom playlist I made):
Well, considering that top bar is only used for window headers, it would be confusing I think. But I would like the widget name to show for fullscreen widgets too. Ideally I would want it to look like the widget names in the other layouts (except with a semi transparent background texture for readability reasons). But, because of technical reasons / limitations the only way to do this here is to show that widget name on every item in the widget, instead of placing it on top of the entire widget. (with the other layouts the widget names are actually in between the widgets instead of a part of the widgets). This results in the widget name constantly moving with every scroll, which I find a jarring experience. Also because the widget name says something about the widget, and not about the items in the widget. Hope that makes sense. Ultimately its a matter of "if I can't do it the way I want, I rather not do it at all" Wink

Keep in mind on some devices with passthrough and cec, volume is adjusted on receiver and the message should also change on Kodi.

I messed up the translation files Oo

All should be ok again in 1.2.18

Thanks Jeroen, 1.2.18 fixed it all.

This is what I (and possibly Jeroen) was trying to understand. Exactly what configuration should lead to a 'non adjustable volume' situation.

That's why I went to see what reFocus does, because nobody ever mentioned an issue with that.

I am using your new classic reFocus theme (v2) happily thank you but the main menu does not change like it did change in the original v1 version of your reFocus colors.
Maybe its related to some setting, I dont know.

Take a look at skin settings > visual effects. You probably have the colours option enabled. In which case the text colour is based on what you have set as a background image, and it overrides the skin set colours.
