I'll put a link to the wiki for remapping the included remote but I've also heard people are using the Flirc or are using CEC to gain functionality. Does anybody have a link to instructions on how to do either of these or if not could somebody write up some simple instructions that noobs could follow that I could link to? I can confirm that the flirc works well on the firetv .. I am using the harmony one with a vizio costar profile. .. I'm going to test out a few more profiles but this one is very usable so far for both xbmc and the amazon side of it. .. The only issue I have is that the back button takes you to xbmc home screen, so you have to navigate through your collection using arrow keys and the ".." to go up in the directory structure. I believe this is an issue with costar profile though. .. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - fnc1 - 2014-04-06 Someone want to give a BR ISO a try... small iso can be downloaded here: http://download.blender.org/durian/movies/Sintel-Bluray.iso RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - Kewlj1313 - 2014-04-06 (2014-04-06, 20:07)Koying Wrote: Please send the "old" log if it's crashing. By default, the current one is sent, which doesn't show anything... Koying, same result here running your latest build (xbmc-20140406-029f083-fixamcoutput-armeabi-v7a.apk). I start the example mkv, hear a bit of audio then back to the FireTV app launcher. http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=167826 I'm going to test with different HW decode settings now. Alright, tested with just MediaCodec enabled and had the same crash. Did another test with just libstagefright enabled and video playback started but was very slow/choppy. Also worth noting that Audio passthrough doesn't seem to be working as it is in the Ouya 12.3.2 build. Audio and controls work perfectly, SMB locations setup properly with authentication, etc. For videos (mostly MKVs), the audio and subtitles work properly but video shutters very bad. Tried wired (gb) and wireless (n). It's progress, but I've it a wall at this point. Edit: this is the SPMC build (12.4.1) I went with that loaded up properly: http://filez.semperpax.com/wuhl4 RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - dismantler - 2014-04-06 (2014-04-06, 16:59)DiegoMejia Wrote: to add on what dismantler already posted, The only box that performs better then the amazon fire tv is the madcatz Mojo. Not enough to justify paying twice the price, then again the madcatz comes with a game controller ($40 for an amazon fire tv controller) so the different is really $60. My movie collection is 800+ and the mad catz displays it in 2 secs while the amazon fire tv takes 4-5secs (same as ouya). Also is anyone worried that amazon might eventually block and/or change certain codecs/settings that might hinder xbmc? for example currently only older builds of frodo are working. what if after the next update the ouya version and spmc stop working making this into a cat and mouse game. I'm worried that they might eventually restrict the device, however they have made a pledge more or less to ensure android 4.4 compatibility. That may be worth more to them in the way of popular apps than the small number of people who are into XBMC. Thanks for your time. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - Koying - 2014-04-06 Ok thanks. Was worth the try ![]() Re: RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - LazerBlue - 2014-04-06 (2014-04-06, 20:56)dogatemyrouter Wrote: dont know what to tell you but this IR receiver works fine for me on my Fire TV: http://www.amazon.com/Ortek-Windows-Infrared-Receiver-Ultimate/dp/B00224ZDFY That is because that is not a true MCE remote as far as I know. It emulates a keyboard and mouse so android sees it as that. I used one like that for a bit with an old android box I once used. They work great but you need a learning capable remote if you want to use a universal remote with it. |
