It's a 1gig drive, how much space do I actually need? - keybaud - 2010-06-26 kuno Wrote:XBMC Live doesn't seem to want to install into my USB flash drive. You don't need to install it onto the USB drive, you should just be able to make it a bootable device and copy the ISO image to it. - johhhnnn - 2010-07-02 Im hoping someone can help me. Ive got a r3610 and no matter what i do i cant play .mkvs back perfectly. There is also a slight stutter every 10 seconds or so. Like a split second freeze. My popcorn hour played everything flawlessly. Ive tried ububtu and xbmc, then windows and xbmc/boxee/haali movie splitter/k-lite codec etc and they all gave me the same stutter. My last chance was xbmc live which i installed last night (xbmc freak) and i still get this stutter. Ive set the gpu buffer thing to 512 in the bios and enabled DXVA in windows/VDAPU in live and still get this problem. Someone please help me! Thanks - kuno - 2010-07-05 I'd just like to say that this forum had been very helpful, thanks to everyone! Got everything working off the USB drive, HDMI audio work-no jitters or anything and fast forwarding/rewind with no lag. I just have 3 small things that I can't seem to correct. 1. The resolution seems a little off. It's a little too big so everything gets cut off from all sides in XBMC UI. 2. Video is a little too dark. I thought I found someone here who had the same problem but for the life of me I can't seem to find that post again in this 60+ thread. 3. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I cannot FTP into XBMC Live. I am using WinSCP with the correct IP address. I get "Network Error: Connection refused". The USB thumb drive is connected when I'm trying to FTP. Thanks to anyone who can help =) - chanders - 2010-07-05 @johhhnnn Are you running SVN? This is a know bug in the later SVNs. @kuno 1. Check that your HDTV is not set to Zoom (even though XBMC is showing at 1080p etc you still wont see it if the TV is zoomed in) 2. Cant help here 3. You need to SSH into the box not FTP. Use port 22 instead of 21 - t2ffn - 2010-07-05 I've ordered my Acer Revo and have a memory stick ready to use with Live. I'm currently using windows SVN version of XBMC. Is there a guide around on how to install an SVN version of Live to USB, or do I need to install Camelot 9.11 and tell it to update to latest SVN? Where can I get XBMCFreaks? Is this version new enough to work with newer skins live Night? I've never touched Linux so like starting out all over again! Thanks - chanders - 2010-07-05 @t2ffn (My responses in red) I've ordered my Acer Revo and have a memory stick ready to use with Live. Cool. You'll love this little guy. I'm currently using windows SVN version of XBMC. Is there a guide around on how to install an SVN version of Live to USB, or do I need to install Camelot 9.11 and tell it to update to latest SVN? You can get a daily compiled SVN build here. I suggest you test them before use in a working environment. Where can I get XBMCFreaks? Is this version new enough to work with newer skins live Night? You can get it here. It is running the latest SVN also, so yes it will work with Night. I've never touched Linux so like starting out all over again! Linux >> Windoze Thanks Help - I am dying here with this revo... - mcadle - 2010-07-05 So let me start with this. I had XBMC working on my Revo 1600 - 1GB RAM - (can't remember what I did to get audio working), but I wanted to be able to play Pandora TV on it as well. So I followed the excellent guide (after numerous failed attempts with others) for adding Launcher and Firefox with Flash from the forums. It worked great except for no audio from Flash. I thought it could have been from doing to many install variations trying to get it to work, so I thought, now that I have this guide, I will format everything and start over. BAD IDEA. Now, I can't get any audio working at all. I have tried XBMCFreaks, 9.11 Live, 9.04, as well as any other build I can find. I have tried every guide on the forums as well as others found via google. I can get XBMC installed, recognize my SMB share, play movies, but no audio over HDMI. I have changed the audio setting to hdmi, hdmi. I have tried plug:hdmi, plughw:0,3 and all the other variants I can find. Does anyone have a current guid to get audio working on an Acer Aspire Revo 1600? The biggest issue I keep running into is that all the builds linked to are either expired or the guide has one line of code that doesn't work. I google that but then I go down a rabbit trail of new issues. All I want right now is to get my old XBMC back minus firefox, etc. This time, once I get it working, I promise I will make a backup. Thanks for any help or pointers you can offer. - mickymcd - 2010-07-06 Has anyone got internet to work on the acer revo using xbmc live? im currently using latest night freak version installed to a sd card but i cant acess apple trailers update weather as it sees no net connection ?? - chanders - 2010-07-06 You must be using a wired connection and it must get an IP adress via DHCP. There is a way to get the wireless working but if I remember correctly you have to install the wireless driver first (compile it) then execute a few commands in a terminal. After that you would be fine. - mickymcd - 2010-07-06 Ive got i t connected via ethernet to my router which is a belkin cable router which has dhcp enabled what am i doing wrong ? - chanders - 2010-07-06 @mickymcd I have read somewhere where XBMC live assigns eth1 to your network card instead of eth0. So you have to do some editing of the /etc/networking file! Do yourself a favor and use XBMCFreak's live CD. Its custom tailored for the ION platform and you wont have all this worries! Not to mention it is using the latest SVN of XBMC (10.0X) wheras XBMC Live is using the ancient 9.11. - mickymcd - 2010-07-06 it is the xbmc live freak cd ive installed to my sd card on my revo - waverz - 2010-07-07 I am waiting for UPS to drop off my Revo 1600, extra stick of memory, and remote. I have a couple quick questions before I install XBMC Live. I am using this guide: http://www.interworks.com/blogs/rboyles/2010/01/31/hd-playback-xbmc-acer-aspire-revo I would like to keep the Windows partition just in case I want to do other things besides XBMC. I am under the impression I can install XBMC Freaks version from a USB drive onto another USB drive and run it from there. Is that correct? If so, that would make it so it would boot to XBMC Live with the USB drive plugged in and Windows when it is not correct? I think I hear the UPS TRUCK!!!!! |
