are you using this sort of image as a poster ? - https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/913v-7if2%2BL._SL1500_.jpg
this has a spine and a blu ray border around it - no wonder it looks odd - it doesn't have the same aspect ratios as the tmdb or fanart.tv therefore it doesnt fit correctly
use a proper borderless poster and it will fit correctly (look at the tmdb or fanart.tv for borderless posters)

Sounds to me like its not a skin problem, if you think it is however, then change to another skin & try enabling the subtitles by default in there. See if keeps the setting, then switch back to madnox & see what happens.

Hello guys!. I'm a noob and I have a question. A lot of the add-ons on the skin help screen when I press them they don't download . Any ideas where I can find them? thanks!!

I guys !! I just do a complete install (not an updtae) of Kody Krypton 17.3 on my Win 10 et i want now to update the madnox skin but i think the first page is not updated anymore cause i can't find how install it properly.
Do i need to get the script like in Jarvis or not ?? The skin helper does not working.... I can se that in log : "ERROR: CAddonInstallJob[script.skin.helper.service]: failed to install dependency script.module.metadatautils" and i tried to install it from zip and it doesn't work either...
Can anybody help me ??

Here is the link to use with Krypton 17.3:

Change your skin on kodi to default estuory & exit kodi. If theres already one there, then delete the madnox folder from the addons folder in windows. Then extract the new one from zip & copy it to the addons folder.
Start kodi back up & select the madnox skin again, and you should be good to go. At this point add the scripts listed in the 1st post of thread, then use the skin helper to install any others your msising.

Feature request: Would it be possible for the infopanel to hide fields with missing data?
The current behavior is to display "Info unavailable" under the info category, when data is missing. See "Styles" and "Moods" below:
Using the same example in Confluence, the categories with missing data are completely hidden:
Personally I like the Confluence behavior better, since I don't like seeing the phrase "Info unavailable" all over my library... it's a sad feeling of incompleteness
Would it be possible to implement a toggle for this behavior in Madnox?
A similar request would be for "Artist Bio Unavailable" appearing in certain artist library views. It'd be nice to have that area simply remain blank.
Anyway this is by far my favorite skin, thanks for all the hard work!

I am having a lot of fun with this skin. The main problem is the speed. Now admittedly my i3 NUC may not be the very highest end device but it has enough speed for all other skins.
The problem appears to be when trying to open up other add ons. So for example I have a series of Super favourites folders which I use as widgets on the main menu (This skin makes it so much easier to do that than most). It takes 20-30 secs for super favourite or the relevant super favourites folder to open up. No idea why. In fairness I have found there are a number of popular add ons which appear to open very slowly as well
I could do a complete uninstall and re-install (painful but I could lose a few add ons which is probably not a bad idea) but has anyone any idea why Super Favs is so slow using this skin for me (has anyone had same problem??)

Same for me. Movie and Tv show addon are much slower then in other skins.
If there is somethimg to speed it up it is great. But this is a heavy skin.
I think we have to live with it.

"this mod will probably require hardware at the high end of the CPU spectrum. I don't know if it would work on devices like Pi's etc. at the lower end of the CPU spectrum. "
Some background..This mod is based on what Aeon Nox 4 used to be. When Aeon nox 5 was released for the new version of xbmc (kodi) the author stripped alot of stuff away to water it down to a very liteweight skin that would run on the new small devices such as rasperyy Pis and NUCs etc. I can understand why, theres alot more people running kodi now then there used to be years ago when we enjoyed what nox 4 was.
Anyway, this mod is basically for those of us with faster high end systems that want to keep all the features.

Strangely I was aware of the first post. If you look at the range of devices people run Kodi on, an i3 NUC with 8Gb memory and solid state msata drive is not lightweight. Now if the conclusion is that Madnox is too feature rich to run adequately on anything less than an i5/i7 with modern SSD only, fair enough but that is not what the thread implies.
I would go a little further. The problem is not the eye candy, that works just fine and is just as fast as for other skins. The issue is the opening of add ons is very slow. That is a surprise to me because I would not have thought that was a particularly resource heavy action, particularly if you are using a list view only

Its never been slow for me mate, everything including addons, open instantly for me. Im not sure what this means for you exactly, maybe its something on the software end and not your hardware? All i can tell you for sure is its seemless for me, so its probably not a skin issue.

I am missing the 4K cases in movie library? All other (webdl, bluray, dvd, etc) are present but 4k is not.
I see only cover and when i try to setup cases nothing happens in settings. any ideas?

You must named your movie files.
For example Ghost in the shell.4k.mkv
