RE: WMC as the backend - released - jespermart - 2013-09-25 I'm having a problem with stuttering in WMC as backend on some HD channels for instance Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2 HD. I have tried with and without DXVA enabled and with and without interlaced enabled, but it is still the same stuttering on some on the HD channels I have tried with Intel Graphics HD4000 and also with a low profile radeon Hd 7750 and it is the same result. Any help would be appreciated. Then play that recorded file with xbmc and see if you see the same stuttering you see with live-tv. Thanks bungee! RE: WMC as the backend - released - User 137418 - 2013-09-25 Just wanted to say thanks again for all the work on this. My Windows 7 setup is working great. Also wondering if eventually we'll be able to pull in the FM radio to XBMC. I see that the server sees (with my Hauppauge 2250 card) the two TV tuners and one FM tuner. Nothing shows under radio in XBMC. This is absolutely not a big deal, just wondering since it's there ![]() Keep up the great work. PS- loving the Arctic skin. Thanks. I would like to investigate how to do radio too. I have seen hints of how to do it as I am looked over the wmc dlls, but there is just so much to do on the tv side that it will be quite a while before we can look at it. It would be great to have another developer to take it on though, hint, hint. ISSUE SOLVED The issue listed above (Unable to schedule or delete timers within xbmc) has been resolved, the cause of the problem had nothing to do with the serverWMC or the wmc addon client, the issue was the result of custom files (DeleteTimer.xml and RecordPrefs.xml) customized by the skinner to work with the Arctic skin. The files were added permanently to the skin, but after an update the files became corrupt and wouldn't allow the timer creation or deletion to complete. After going back to the first files the skinner provided I've been able to complete the task without issue. I've sent contact to the skinner to have a look at the files included with his skin updates to be sure they're correct. Thanks scarecrow420 / Krusty for your help/input in resolving this issue. RE: WMC as the backend - released - SoCalXMBC - 2013-09-26 I really like idea behind this plugin, espcially since my media network is based on Windows Media Center PCs. As of now I'm using MediaPortal as my Live TV solution. Aside from some intermittent xmltv update problems(using the wmc script), my only gripe is is the poor implementation for recording live tv shows. I feel like I've stepped back to the days of scheduling a VCR. My understanding is that XBMC is keeping its distance from Live TV in favor of the plugin doing the work. I'm one of the many who have come from a long history with SageTV where richly featured one click recording of favorite shows, future shows, etc was absolutely effortless and as clean if not cleaner than any in home Cable or Sattelite DVR offering today. Does this plugin match what is already available when using the MediaPortal TV plugin from the XMBC interface, or does it go the extra step toward enriching the LiveTV/EPG scheduling interface? Along those lines, I'm using the default UI in XBMC, it seems there are some differences in how the EPG functions between them. Do any offer enrichment of the above. I'll gladly convert to this plugin if it matches MediaPortal, especially if its upgrade path begins ot address the scheduling gap. Thanks, keep up the good work! A few things I can tell you about this plugin that moved me away from Mediaportal. 1 You're using the media center epg info, you don't have to go back and download weekly or anything. 2 . Recorded TV, You can finally record series to record only new episodes. 2. You can actually schedule your series recordings from within xbmc. The functions you got from windows media center's live tv that had most of us hesitate when transitioning from WMC to xbmc are accessible in xbmc now. when I first tried it, I didn't delete mediaportal, after each boot I'd just disable the mediaportal tvserver. But now i've moved fully to the serverWMC pvr. If you need any help or feedback feel free to reach out to me. I left out the most important thing, the support for this pvr backend is great. The developers will work with you and give quick feedback, someone like myself who has gotten very familiar with the addon doesn't hesitate to give assistance. RE: WMC as the backend - released - SoCalXMBC - 2013-09-26 Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know. I dont mind the time/risk involved in modifying my system(again), at least not when there is a high confidence it will do what I need. Installing now. Welcome to the club, we're here to help whenever needed. The only thing I'd ask is to give someone else the same support you receive. Makes the the development of the app continue to move forward. RE: WMC as the backend - released - krycek - 2013-09-26 Hello, looks like WMC as backend is promising, however does anyone know if this can be installed and running (backend) from a Microsoft 2012 Server. I currently use MediaPortal TV Server, however channel switching is slow. Tried to install the backend but when starting I get an error about mcepg blah blah. I don't know if anyone has tried it on windows home server, but I do know we have had plenty of similar installer problems for win7, 8, and 8.1. I need some of the the 'blah blah' detail. In particular anything related to dll version numbers. In the meantime I will look into home server. RE: WMC as the backend - released - Dilligaf - 2013-09-26 I don't think WMC is available on server 2012 or server 2012 R2, being that it's based on Windows 8.1 it probably isn't too hard for the right person to hack an install onto Server 2012 but until this is done Server WMC will not work RE: WMC as the backend - released - TechLife - 2013-09-27 Trying to get this setup on Windows 7 with my HDHomerun Prime. I went through the WMC setup and can watch TV there and the guide is complete. After installing ServerWMC and launching it, I am receiving the following error: RecService> failed to loag EPG Unrecoverable Error - ServerWMC will terminate! I would post a log but I can't find one anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated! RE: WMC as the backend - released - scarecrow420 - 2013-09-27 The log is in C:\ProgramData\VDsoftware\ServerWMC\ServerWMC.log |
