RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - Burke - 2012-12-28 Time for some feedback ![]() Testing for some time now. HW: MBO - Zotac h55 i, CPU - i3 550 with Intel HD 2000 Boot - fastest I ever had with my hw. XBMC is fast also. Audio, Video all working 10+. All in all - excellent job, thank you ![]() Only small problem I encountered so far is that my flirc usb receivers is not working after resume until I plug it out and plug it to a different port. RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - dweller25 - 2012-12-28 Hello, I tried the script with ATI Radeon X1650 Pro with no luck. XBMC GUI does not start and stops in "Checking battery status". Any suggestions? Should I install the driver manually? RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - Jameskey10 - 2012-12-28 I finally got everything working. Now I have run into a new roadblock. How do I put new files onto/remove old files from slaved harddrive in this machine with the minimal install. I have 3 internal hard drive and 3 external.hard drives. The external ones are easy since I can just connect them to my windows laptop. Thanks for the help! Also if someone could point me in the right direction to mount my other 3 internal hard drive it would be appreciated. The drive show up in bios but I cannot see them in XBMC. My external hard drives auto mount in xbmc. XBMC also takes a long time to load (abt 2 minutes) and sets at a black screen the entire time. V/R RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - ylafont - 2012-12-29 I had to reboot machine today, and i began to experience a black screen on boot-up, so i figured I re-installed since i was not sure if the changes i had made were the cause. after the re-installation, i was left at logon screen. has something changed elsewhere? Redoing just in case i missed something. Left at the console logon screen again on second install. RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - hydkrash - 2012-12-29 Update!! Have disabled the IGD (Integrated Graphics Display) as follows: In BIOS: Enable PEG Set Initiate to PEG/PCIEx4 IGD Multi Monitor disabled Save BIOS and Reboot Start system, got the console again. Hit Alt+F8, then reboot System not starts automatically with XBMC screen. Thanks all for your help RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - Hisly - 2012-12-30 I have installed your script for 12.10. But get black screen and locks after "XBMC" welcome screen. I have same problem with xbmcbuntu 12 RC2. I used XBMCbuntuu 11 it worked OK. My sistem is: Asrock Z68M-ITX/HT,Core i3 2120T,4Gb, WD 2Tb RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - un1versal - 2012-12-30 @ Hisly see this, its a know problem with At least Ubuntu 12.10. Nothing to do with script http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=148356 Everyone in that thread has same core i3 uNi RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - Burke - 2012-12-31 Hi guys, anybody else using flirc? I looked around internet to try and solve this but nothing I do changes anything. (although with my knowledge of linux and english is like reading klingon). I have just one problem, after resume my flirc is not present until i plug it to a different usb port. (it is not listed when I enter "lsusb"). It worked fine on openelec and XBMCbuntu 11 so I guess it has something to do with minimal 12.10. Any chance this would work on older version of minimal (where I could use rc.local again)? Or some other solution... If you need more info just tell me what you need. Thanks RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - Janzzze - 2013-01-01 i seem to have a problem. when i boot it does not start XBMC and just says "checking battery status" oddly if i SSH into the box and "sudo reboot" it starts XBMC also "settings>exit>power of system" makes XBMC freeze. specs: asrock a75m-itx, a8 3870k, 4gb, 128GB m4 RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - scokar - 2013-01-01 I have an NFS server and since that term is too short to search on in this thread, hopefully this is not a duplicate tip. I added the NFS client based on the information here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SettingUpNFSHowTo#NFS_Client sudo apt-get install rpcbind nfs-common RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - ylafont - 2013-01-01 Quick question? Is there any way to be able to select what version of xbmc is installed? Or be able to dowgrade? Manny thing do work with frodo. Thanks. RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - squareatom - 2013-01-01 @ylafont You can downgrade to Eden by removing the Frodo repo and reinstalling XBMC. I did it and everything works correctly. I believe the command is: Code: sudo ppa-purge ppa:wsnipex/xbmc-xvba You can probably modify the install script to not add that repo but I cannot verify that works without any issues. XBMC has NFS support for client already, this is a bit futile, especially since that points to use fstab mounted shares which in my experience the network is up after fstab is so you end up having to issue a mount command when the whole thing is ready. Using XBMC internal NFS support is easier and as long as libnfs1 v1.3 is installed say from https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archive/unstable/+packages or v1.5 from https://launchpad.net/~wsnipex/+archive/xbmc-nfstest/+packages (2013-01-02, 00:04)ylafont Wrote:(2013-01-01, 20:35)squareatom Wrote: @ylafont If you want to downgrade, after purging that ppa you need to insert this one https://launchpad.net/~wsnipex/+archive/xbmc-xvba-eden uNi RE: HOW-TO: Automated efficient (dedicated) XBMC installation on Ubuntu minimal 12.10 - ylafont - 2013-01-02 (2013-01-02, 00:56)uNiversal Wrote: If you want to downgrade, after purging that ppa you need to insert this one https://launchpad.net/~wsnipex/+archive/xbmc-xvba-eden Even if there is no source.list for Quantal?
