RE: WMC as the backend - released - SoCalXMBC - 2013-09-27 So I'm completely migrated over to this plugin, but I cant seem to find the record series functionality in the default skin in Frodo 10.2. Am I missing something? I can only record a specific show, or set records to repeat on specific days. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the implementation...? A Note for some experiencing post implementation XBMC crashes, as well as for the developer... While the installation when straight forward on my livingroom server, later, my 32bit bedroom client server bombed out on the plugin. I was able to install the plugin, start XBMC, configure the plugin, then enable the plugin. It seemed good until I backed out to the main screen and then it crashed. Now I cannot boot XBMC without the following error, unless I remove the pvr.wmc directory from XBMC. Then it boots fine. Error: Debug Assertion Failed! Program: C:\Program Files\XBMC\XBMC.exe File: c:\program files(x86)\microsoft visual studio 10.1\vc\include vector Line: 932 Expression: vector subscript out of range XBMC Log: 16:57:53 T:3480 NOTICE: EPG::CEpgContainer::Start - EPG thread started 16:57:53 T:3480 NOTICE: PVRManager - starting up 16:57:53 T:2624 NOTICE: Thread PVR manager start, auto delete: false 16:57:53 T:3392 NOTICE: Thread EPG updater start, auto delete: false 16:57:53 T:3980 NOTICE: Thread PVR add-on updater start, auto delete: false 16:57:53 T:2624 ERROR: AddOnLog: Windows Media Center PVR: Socket::GetVector> error getting responses 16:57:53 T:2352 NOTICE: -->Python Interpreter Initialized<-- 16:57:53 T:3276 NOTICE: service.libraryautoupdate: Update Library Service starting... 16:57:53 T:2280 NOTICE: -->Python Interpreter Initialized<-- However, a second check of my livingroom server showed it was suffering from the same thing suddenly. I suspected something must be conflicting with the PVRClient on that port so I began shutting down any services that might be conflicting. Nothing. I rebooted the main livingroom server and XBMC came up fine, as did my Bedroom client. So it seems if the plugin is not communication properly, it takes XBMC down completely. I'm a developer myself, so I thought I would pass this forward for others as well as the developer to hopefully trap so that XBMC continues gracefully. Here's where you'll find the files: The pvr addon client folder: \pvr.wmc-windows-1011\pvr.wmc\resources\skins\Confluence\720p (here you'll see two files called: DeleteTimer and RecordPrefs) Drop them here: C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\skin you're using\1080i (the two files are for the default confluence skin, if you drop them in a different skin folder you'll see the words but not a background) You can request the skinner customize the files for the skin you're using. RE: WMC as the backend - released - w84no1 - 2013-09-27 Is there a RaspberryPi plugin for 12.2? I don't want to use a nightly as a lot of plugins don't work with Gotham yet. RE: WMC as the backend - released - SoCalXMBC - 2013-09-27 Thank you. My system required me to place the files slightly different for confluence, but it worked. Thank you for the hint! My C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\ directory didnt have a skin.Confluence folder, only the downloaded skins. I instead found it under (x64) C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\addons\skin.Confluence\720p\ (x86) C:\Program Files\XBMC\addons\skin.Confluence\720p\ Worked like a charm! I modified the download page so it has instructions for how to enable series timer recordings. For those working on the wiki page, these instructions should be added (and hopefully improved upon). I thought I had crashing due to connection problems solved, or at least failing gracefully. If you continue to have these issues please consider pasting the full server log on pastebin.com and posting the link here. I think you are on the right track in terms of trying to find out if the port is being used by another process. I have also had users report that third party anti-viral software was caused connection issues too. And dude, if your're a developer with free time (ha!) consider helping out. --kr (2013-09-27, 01:30)TechLife Wrote: Trying to get this setup on Windows 7 with my HDHomerun Prime. I went through the WMC setup and can watch TV there and the guide is complete. After installing ServerWMC and launching it, I am receiving the following error: This is interesting because it sounds like you are setting up wmc for the first time and then enabling our software. So I am curious what is going wrong, so like scarecrow says - please post a log on pastebin.com and put the link on this thread. If you want to watch an episode that is currently being recorded, what is the right way to do it? What I did was go into "recordings" which found the .wtv file, but that only played up to I guess the point where the file ended when I first started playback, at which point a frame was displayed and XBMC froze (had to use task manager to kill). scott s. . Hi Scott, Yes that is the way to do it, and no it shouldn't crash. I will try to reproduce today. Has this happened to you consistantly? Any chance you have the server log from this run? BTW, that large wtv file you sent me was a big help in resolving the problem (fixed in last released rev). It was worth the pain of getting it to me IMO. edited for an update: Hoops and I have been trying to reproduce this and we can't. If you don't have the log anymore, can you recall any details like how long the recording had been going before you started watching, whether you started the recording in xbmc or the wmc service had started it, etc. RE: WMC as the backend - released - SoCalXMBC - 2013-09-27 (2013-09-27, 05:31)krustyreturns Wrote: And dude, if your're a developer with free time (ha!) consider helping out. I have a lot on my plate with my day job, but I did start poking around the XBMC source code a few days ago. When I saw this last error pop up with a VS path, I thought about looking into the plugin code as well to see if I could contribute.. but havent had any free cycles yet. I've developed for streeming media since 1998 for the web, MCE 10ft UI and phones. Working internal automation tools now whichis feast or famine so time is never what i think it will be. But I will take a look, this is fun stuff! Your experience would be a big help, but I certainly understand about not having time. If you decide you want to help develop this pvr code as opposed tooling around xbmc, the server code is where most of the moving parts are. PM me your email address and I can give you access - but no pressure. I wish I could have pulled a log before so you could look at it. Good news is that it is working fantasticaly now. I wasted so much time trying to setup MythTV and TVHeadend. This was a breath of fresh air. Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into this. Only thing I am curious about at this point is the timeline at the bottom of the screen when timeshifting. There isn't one. Is that inherent when using WMC as a backend or is this a function of the skin I should address with Phil & Noid? (I'm using Nox git). Thanks again!! I'm not sure what you mean about the timeline being missing - but it sure doesn't sound like something we control in the addon. Maybe quickly try confluence to check the skin. I may have used the wrong terminology. Either way I figured it out. It's there in Confluence so it's a Nox issue. Anyway, for reference, what I was talking about is the info at the top and bottom of the screen indicating the position in the program you are watching. ![]() RE: WMC as the backend - released - krustyreturns - 2013-09-28 (2013-09-28, 00:49)TechLife Wrote: I may have used the wrong terminology. I got confused by timeline, I guess because scarecrow and I have been discussing an EPG bug so I was thinking that kind of timeline. Thanks for the image. I guess it will just confirm that you do infact have double entrries for recordsing being sent back to the client, but its good to confirm. As krusty said, everything from the log you posted looks OK, ie we dont actually see a double request being sent or anything like that, so definitely worth checking that WMC doesnt have your recorded TV folder added to the library (since recorded TV is automatially part of the library). I also think in this situation, that WMC itself will show double entries in the library for the recorded shows, so thats another thing to check Ha, I don't need to anymore, the new Server and Client has fixed the issue. You guys ROCK. Keep up the excellent work. (2013-09-18, 05:40)Powerhouse Wrote: Another update, regarding the duplicate TV recordings. When I delete 1, they both go away. So it looks like I am just seeing two copies of the single recording. Besides clearing the database that scarecrow suggested. When you start the server and then start the client right after, look at the server status tab and look at the number of 'Recordings' that were sent to the client. Is it the correct number or 2x the correct number of wtv files? Also, in xbmc you are viewing these recordings from inside of 'live tv' in the 'Recordings' section right? [/quote] Ok, cleared the database as scarecrow suggested. Then created two new recordings (Wheel of Fortune again about 5 minutes after it started, and Survivor which starts in about an hour). On ServerWMC I see Channels: 13 EPG Entries 886 Timers: 2 Recordings: 4 There should only be 2 recordings (1 for Wheel, and 1 for Survivor), I have no other Recordings set at this time. Oh, and yes, I am viewing recordings from inside 'Live TV' in the Recordings section. I have the Server Log if you would like to see it. |
