Look around 1362:
11:46:31 T:3672 DEBUG: ### XSqueeze-0.9.7 ### Attempting to connect to LMS named [192.168.1.100] at IP: 192.168.1.100 on CLI port: 9090

the 1651:
11:47:28 T:3672 DEBUG: ### XSqueeze-0.9.7 ### Couldn't connect to server!

...the problem is (as the notification says) - that XSqueeze can't connect to the server. Can you connect from the command line? My guess is either wrong IP for the server, or you're running the server on the same machine but you have not changed the port from 9090 which is also XBMC's json port (which you are clearly using).

As per the wiki, if LMS/XBMC are on the sme machine, you need to change the LMS CLI port from 9090 to something free, then change this setting in XSqueeze. If they are on different machines then you likely have a firewall/port issue or wrong IP in xsqueeze settings.

Thanks for the reply, I do have my XBMC and LMS on the same box but cannot see a way to change the CLI port - is this done through the control panel or command line?

Apologies for my lack of understanding on how some of these things work but thanks a lot for the advice earlier

In LMS settings:

...set to, say, 9095, then change to the same in XSqueeze settings too.

Re-start everything, and you should be good to go

Sorted - thanks a lot

I did look in advanced settings but stupidly didnt realise I could drop the menu down and see other options....

Got this setup on a secondary machine now and struggling to get the music in sync - should the settings be mirrored between the two xbmc instances?

Each xbmc player should be given a different MAC - then sync the players in LMS.

(Mac address = in XSqueeze settings)

Hi there,

I just installed xsqueeze on my Frodo install running on Win 7x64 and using the default Confluence skin. It really looks good thanks for putting it together! I just had a couple of issues.
1) If I press the backspace key while on the root menu of xsqueeze chooser, xsqueeze chooser, xsqueeze, and xbmc all crash. Squeezeelite does keep running in the background though. The escape key does the right thing - eg close out of xsqueeze chooser and return to xsqueeze; however, since my remote back button is configured to use backspace, it makes it impossible for me to return to the now playing screen. Additionally, clicking on the back arrow icon in the lower right hand corner of the window also causes xsqueeze, xsqueeze chooser, and xbmc to crash. I've included a snippet of the debug log if that helps.

Is there an easy way to work around this?

2) The Add Favorites functionality also does not work. I can add and item as a favorite and the interface seems to recognize that the item has been added which I can confirm because the next time I bring up the context menu for that item, it has an entry for "remove from favorites". However, the item never shows up in the favorites list. Again: here is a log snippet:

Thanks again for putting this together!

Hi Jonas

On 1) I suspect you are not launching XSqueeze from a home window shortcut? AS per the XSqueeze wiki, due to some bugs in XBMC window handling, it really needs to be launched that way to work properly. If you launch it from there, backspace works just fine (well, it does here!). Hmm, actually, it does look like there is a change in xbmc behaviour there....as it now drops back to the programs menu and then backspace again takes you to chooser. That's new...

On 2) You are talking about Squeezebox favourites I presume? As in, not the XBMC favourites system which has nothing to do with XSqueeze? Have you checcked that your added favourite appears in the web interface list of favourites for that player? I don't really use favourites but it should just return a list of them....but I will look into that one for you soon.

Basically - I will look at both of those & thanks for pointing them out!

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - jshoor - 2013-03-19

Thanks for the response.

On 1) I am launching Xsqueeze from the Home Page Music Submenu which is what I think you recommended in your instructions.

On 2) I am refering to the Squeezebox favourites. As per your suggestion, I checked the LMS Favorites for the XBMC Squeezelite player and the favorites are all there; so I guess the problem is related to the display favourites functionality rather than the add to favourites functionality.

Thanks again for sharing this addon.

1) If you mean an icon add as a shortcut link to the Confluence homepage, then this is correct. Don't launch it from any menu. But there has been a change here too so will look at it.

and 2) yeah it's broken (not sure why?) - will fix.

Ok so just pushed an update that should fix Favourites handling.

On the window stuff - I am asking for some help with this, hopefully there is a way to force the plugin to exit out to the script properly in all cases....

Thank you! I will download it and test it out later today.

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - jshoor - 2013-03-19

Im not sure if there is something special I should be doing, but the update buttons on the xsqueeze and xsqueeze chooser addons are disabled. I've made sure auto-update is on and I have refreshed the repository. Do I need to download a new zip?

RE: [RELEASE]XSqueeze - Squeezebox player, music chooser and visualiser for XBMC - bossanova808 - 2013-03-20

It probably auto-updated when you weren't looking - what version are you on? 0.9.8 XSqueeze and 0.1.3 Chooser are the latest with the favourites fix.
