RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.2.21 / 4.9.90-alpha9] - Dutchsamurai - 2016-11-01 Think I'm going to give the latest version a go in a VM. Have been using this skin for about 6 months now and I'm very happy with it, by far the best skin IMO. Thanks to all the devs. There's just two things that I'd like to see improved. I'm using this skin together with the Emby plugin and I would love to be able to scroll through my latest movies or episodes next up. Currently it shows only 10 items but if you could scroll without having to go into the movie menu that would be great. Another thing I would like to see is when you enter your movies, episodes or whatever menu, you get a list right? And if you go to the left or right of the screen you get the context menu allowing you mark items as watched, changes the order etc. Could this menu be made to only appear after a long press? That and a color scheme that matches Emby Right now I changed it myself in the config files but it would be cool to have a color scheme that matches the green of Emby. Have been using this skin for about 6 months now and I'm very happy with it, by far the best skin IMO. Thanks to all the devs. @Dutchsamurai Thank you for your kind compliments; as you move up to Danvers Preview you'll find a lot of improved features over the Dormer branch (the Jarvis counterpart). Of course, we still have work to do and sort of why we are in a "holding pattern" in terms of getting Beta 2 out of the door since it's the cumulative update of all patches since Alpha 9 but when combined it introduces critical issues that @minus0 is working on. I'm just waiting for the green light to merge branches into the development for testing and then release. As you know, this skin was born on the Emby forums - it's legacy is Arctic Zephyr: Exploded. Arctic Zephyr: Braz is slowly being introduced and will be more incorporated later with Arctic Zephyr: From Another Age (post AZ:FA Danvers) but keeping tight Emby integration is a priority because Emby can take the Kodi experience to the next level. Getting better Next Up integration is something that's going to be slowly worked on. Partially is because the roadmap I am forming that's moving from Danvers to For Another Age creates significant changes that wouldn't make sense to do the extra work that can be done once when For Another Age comes. This is because it's a new UI design that will be introduced in For Another Age (it was originally intended for Danvers). We can look into setting long press as well to mark unwatched or watched but I'm not sure if that button is currently assigned to anything. You'll have to forgive me but I use a Harmony remote when using Kodi or a portable small handheld keyboard when using the rPi3. As for the color schemes. @minus0 and I played with the idea of preset themes earlier in either Danvers or Dormer (it's been a while) but I think we ran into problems keeping certain presets. You can actually customize the look without editing config files, we have an entire color selection system that allows you to make the skin look however you want without editing files and you can even save the settings and back them up. Special note: it doesn't work going between Dormer (Jarvis) and Danvers (Krypton); you have to re-create your presets because the color selection system is on its fifth generation and Dormer ended on the second or third generation of the system. However, you brought to light exactly why we need to get the AZ:FA site up and running. There's so much to AZ:FA that a simple forum post just can't give all the information. And we're working on it but until them forum posts will have to do. RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.2.21 / 4.9.90-alpha9] - Guardian Hope - 2016-11-01 Emby for Kodi (Public Testing) Update As everyone here knows, the NortheBridge by Design Repo contains a special version of the Emby for Kodi plugin which is compatible with Kodi 17 as a service until such time "official support" is maintained by the Emby plugin developers (at Kodi's RC stage - this is when we stop providing the courtesy download and direct everyone to download the plugin from Emby as it's in the repo by then). The last time we fetched the public testing version of the Emby plugin was for Beta 3 of Kodi 17. Kodi 17 is now at Beta 5 and the latest supporting Emby plugin is dated for 10/26. Tomorrow we'll fetch the most current plugin for greatest compatibility. Anyone using Kodi 17 and Emby should expect an automatic download if you have the NBD repo. I cannot stress this enough: no support is provided for the public testing version of the Emby plugin by us or by Emby. It's provided as a service to everyone. The first "official support" version won't be released until Kodi 17 reaches the RC stage. The results of this survey will be shared here on the Kodi forums as well as on the Emby forums. I want to thank you all ahead of time as we make our way towards AZ:FA Danvers (Beta 2). https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TDQNWBB RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.2.21 / 4.9.90-alpha9] - senzalice - 2016-11-02 (2016-10-31, 05:16)Guardian Hope Wrote: ... I found Dormer patchsets on the CDN distribution. I need to find out what they were for before release 3.3.30. RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.2.21 / 4.9.90-alpha9] - juggie - 2016-11-03 I tried to install this from emby and northbridge repo today and no luck. I did eventually find the direct link to the CDN to get the file and install it manually. Something is broken with the repos/locating the addons to install them. No problems with any other repos. If I have the time tomorrow; I'll release the final update to the Dormer branch for Kodi Jarvis. There might be one final update to make a notification toggle for those that have distributions and are waiting for them to update to Krypton. I can't provide an explanation for you without any logfile and if you just downloaded the zip from the CDN and installed it that way then you essentially downloaded the same exact file that's downloaded when you use the NBD repo or the Emby repo (it's closer to the NBD repo since NBD replicates to many edge locations and you automatically get it from the one closest to you geographical location whereas the Emby repo is one server as far as I am aware), I can force NBD to re-fetch from the Washington, D.C. origin to all locations in the world but you had the same issue with the Emby repo which makes me doubt it was any file issue. Please take the survey to let us know further about how you use AZ:FA, Kodi, and what you want to see us do better at. The results of the survey will be shared with the team in the middle of the month and with everyone just before Thanksgiving in the United States which hopefully will be by the time that Beta 2 (we're bumping that up to Beta 5) will be ready. The survey is of course: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TDQNWBB RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.2.21 / 4.9.90-alpha9] - Durron - 2016-11-04 Hi i have a problem with the Skin. RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.2.21 / 4.9.90-alpha9] - PECONAUT - 2016-11-05 Hello everyone. I just finish setting this awesome skin on my raspberry pi 3 and it look beautiful. Just have a question that I being googling around but couldn't find an answer. On the main menu (currently using vertical mode) how do I stop the widget from refreshing every time switch to another menu item. I know that the developer have it set like that so you always have the latest content but is there anyway you can have an option to turn it off or ideally have it refresh every 24hr, 48, or even weekly. The reason why I ask is because most content don't update right away so its pointless to have it. Or if anyone can teach me a way to disable it myself it would be greatly appreciated. As always keep up to good work and thank you for all your efforts |
