got a streampack and they all look fine to me...

when i click on them, they do nothing - not a thing.

ok, just got into this web tv streaming stuff, mainly cuz my gfs parents are korean and cant get any good tv out here. my question is: how do i find the url needed for something like comedy central? they stream, and i see sites that list it, but they dont list the url that id need to make the .strm file. any insight is appreciated.

i need to tweak the cache files abit cuz the damned korean servers are causing mad slowdown.

one more question. should i just turn my cache, internet, video up as far as i can? i have it at 10024kb. is this too much? too little? can it be bad f i go too high, etc, thanx

10024kb is too much. turn you cache at 2042<--->4084chose the good solution for tv video.

i use 2042 for tv and somthing 3000 or 4000.

but too high cache = no streams  for live media.

hi..i've got my xbox all set up for streaming and so on but everytime i try and run a .strm file my xbox box has a little dialogue box that runs through loads of writing really fast and then it disappears and the file doesnt play..i cant get any streams to work what so ever..can somebody please help

i downlaoded the stream packs but the ones i tried would not work.
but i did try a test file which was in the first past of this thread and it worked but not the ones in the stream packs.
this one especially is the one im tryin to get to work

i've got the same issue. yet i confirmed streaming works, since the python scripts for movie trailers (apple quicktime site) and gamespot preview work fine.

it's just when i create my own .strm files that it doesn't work. i see a dialog that it's processing the stream and then right as it gets to the caching stage, the dialog goes away and i'm back at my videos listing. if i try a 2nd time, xbmc locks up and i need to reboot the xbox.

are there extra files (codecs?) i need to install?

i'm having probs getting .mov quicktime files to stream.is it possible? i'm trying to get the .mov from this page

tried using mms: in the addy instead of http and no go.hope this is enough info.would love some help and thanx in advance guys.

i have the same problem
2005-12-03 build.
select the stream and then it runs through some dialogues
finishes and nothing happens.
i've let is sit for awhile and nothing .

problem the same to me.2005.4.1 build
xbox works fine in lan but it doesn't play file outside the lan .

ex1:xbox: 192.168.0.3 pc:192.168.0.1
i can play the stream http://192.168.0.1:2000/1.asf

ex2:when i play this http://192.168.10.21:2000/tv.asf,the stream server is in different lan section.xbox must visit it through gateway(192.168.0.1).i'm sure xbox is properly set and i can play it on my pc. xbmc just runs through some dialogues.it could be found in log file that "cmplayer::openfile() http://192.168.10.21:2000/tv.asf failed."

i use ethereal (a sniffer software)looking for some clue, in ex1 i could see packets run betweed xbox and stream server ,but in ex2 there is no packet sent from xbox.that means it doesn't even try to connect to 192.168.10.21.

so, is there a problem inside mplayer?does anyone get the same problem?

so i put in all the info in the notepad document that i then name researchchannel.strm and then i put this in my music map on my xbox, am i right??
