CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - Cinephile - 2015-11-16

You'll need to access your OpenELEC device remotely. Go to OpenELEC's info screen and write down the IP. Next, go to a PC on the same network and just type in the IP in Explorer (In my case it's simply \\192.168.0.101). This should then bring up the OpenELEC directory structure. Navigate to "Userdata" and then "addon_data" and delete the "script.cinemavision" folder after you uninstall it.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks!

And I'd love to be able to send a command to the TV and/or projector to switch to SBS or MVC 3D mode once and not try to switch back and fourth which causes on screen displays from the TV and projector to pop up. Maybe that's something Kodi needs to do? An action that puts Kodi into SBS mode and doesn't change it back until it gets another action, or returns to the main menu. I have no idea how to get that coded though.

Still boggle my mind that some of the more simpler things that you'd think should work still don't when it comes to 3D. Playback being the biggest WTF of them all.

Are you talking about Kodi not scanning content in properly or the CinemaVision content? If it's CinemaVision content, post up a log of you updating content and tell us what's missing so we can look into it. You can absolutely send commands to your TV, and even give the TV time to switch using action files. To add a delay while your TV switches, use the sleep:// protocol from this post. You can then add another action to change the 3D settings on your TV in the same way at the end of the sequence. This all assumes your TV has a web API we can talk to. Big Grin

Let me know what Marcos says, and if we need to work together to find some resolution.

Choosing "uninstall" from add-on menu doesn't actually remove anything.

I've added the easiest manual uninstall instructions I can muster for OpenELEC to the UNINSTALLING section of this post. It was a bit of an oversight, and should have been there. Thanks for pointing it out!

I am still having issues getting the disable refresh actions to work. I have created a pastebin account and have uploaded my current log to it from Cinema Vision addon settings. Do I just paste it here to have you guys take a look at it?

Yes please! Just paste up the link and we'll see what we can see.

That's unexpected, and great news! Thanks to the team behind DSPlayer for making this possible for folks!

But when I try to launch it from the context menu or the movie information screen, I get an error immediately.

Log file here http://pastebin.com/r7FwbgBz, showing reboot, playing sequence from launch, and then trying to launch CV from the movie information screen.

I'm using Nox:SiLVO mod, but could not get it working on Confluence either.

Thanks, Carl.

It seems for me trailers are only being pulled from the source listed in the middle of the Trailers->Source: Content Filter (Scraper) setting. I have this set to Content, iTunes, Kodi, yet all the trailers are pulled from itunes. If I set it back to the default of Content, Kodi, iTunes, then all trailers are pulled from Kodi. I have local trailer content as well. How do I configure it to randomly pull trailers from all of these sources?

thx

I just setup a new HTPC with windows 10 and kodi 15.2. I installed cinemavision and it just worked. No problems at all. Good work guys!

Still waiting for a solution for the projector resolution and refresh change problem, as is Dave the minion.

I have a NUC with Openelec 6, running Nox silvio, pretty much the same as you.

A couple of times when upgrading CV it gave me an error, so I uninstalled the launcher, & then uninstalled CV itself, reinstalled & it worked.

The CV site also suggested deleting the cv script, but I can't remember in the exact location at the moment, & I can't see it mentioned on the website.

I straight forgot to reply to you. Sorry about that! It looks like it's triggering "First Run" in the log, which is odd. Have you set up content and everything, or are you using CV in Demo Mode? What feature were you trying to play? Is it content scraped into Kodi locally, or something streaming? Can I get you to post your sequence file up for us to review as well?

It should pull randomly from all of those sources. Make sure you've run Update content in the add-on configuration so that it's scraping all of those locations for trailer content. After you have updated the content, try running your sequence and if it does the same thing, post up the log showing all of that activity for us.

Great to hear! Are you willing to be one of our testers? We're working on a few ideas to help curb that constant refresh rate change, but we're having a difficult time getting people to commit to helping us iron out the bugs.

This is good advice, especially if you've upgraded from beta to the stable version. There are instructions in this post for manually uninstalling CinemaVision, then you can reinstall from the repository. It won't affect your CinemaVision Content directories your actions, or your sequences, but you will need to set up your add-on default settings if you've made changes to those.

Scott,

Is there a way to specify how many trailers you want to watch from each source? For example...the kids like to see trailers of movies in our database (they sometimes forget how good a movie was and this reminds them), but they also like to see new movies coming to theaters. I'd like to watch one trailer from the kodi data base and 2 trailers of new movies coming to theaters. Is this possible now and if not...could I make a feature request as a red carpet member? Smile

Set-up 2 trailers modules, 1 for your coming soon and 1 from your database. That's what I have and it works awesome. I also have trailer intros which state "Coming Soon" and "Now Showing" before each module but you can have just 1 or no intro and run the modules back-to-back. Conceivably you could run 1,000 different trailer sources with different modules back-to-back.

I really should make a video of the intro I've put together for my friend's dedicated home theater. Just need to find a good capture program..

No idea! We might be able to figure it out if you post up a log, though. Smile

That is exactly how to handle doing that. Good advice, Dave. Big Grin

I support you making a video to show off what you've done. I'm using TechSmith Camtasia Studio to make the CinemaVision tutorial videos, and I absolutely love it.
