RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - maxliefkes - 2016-12-10 This is becoming extremely powerful! Amazing! A couple of ideas/requests. 1) Would it be possible to have a per channel option to enable an "always let user pick stream if multiple streams are available" setting. I see that you have a "always choose channel if alternative streams exist", but with that enabled tv guide fullscreen still always plays the chosen stream and I have to remove and re-choose a stream to bring up the stream selection dialog. The per channel option would be a bonus - some channels stay fixed like BBC - others are more fickle! 2) I think it would be great to have a little more power in the stream selection dialog. Is there any way to extract basic info about streams and list it there. Bitrate etc? And then perhaps have sorting options for the stream selection dialog window? 3) One issue I have found is that in the case of a single add-on that i've added several folders from, it's difficult to know which section of the add-on the stream has come from. Could there be an option for displaying the add-on folder path as well as the add-on in the stream selection dialog. 4) There are cases where addon folder names change within addons. Could it be possible to add folders by virtue of their position in a directory rather than their name? Perhaps using a meta-style "STEPS" procedure? That sounds like a lot of work to add another field to the channels. If I can find a spare button I could map the Choose Channel dialog to one of them. [EDIT] I've mapped up Play to Choose Channel from the epg. Should be in the next version. 2. You can't really tell much about most streams until you play them. There is usually quite a bit of indirection when you use addon streams. They find a list of potential streams from some website, maybe use a proxy and finally play a stream which might not be the same one next time round. 3. The folder name is lost when you use Add Folder. I think that would be quite a lot of work to keep it. If I append it to the channel name then the channel matching won't work properly. 4. That is getting much more complicated than I want to support here. I haven't tried it but I would have thought you could link to the Meta Live channel search which can use its Players. You seem to have a lot of sneaky addons to deal with. RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - primaeval - 2016-12-10 version 0.0.228 - Choose Stream with Play button from main EPG (ACTION_PLAYER_PLAY) - Settings \ Lab1 \ Append (Folder) to Name on Add Folder - Settings \ Background \ Background Image Texture (choose your own if you are using the solid colour background) - Pick Image dialog - Local, Pixabay (with thumbnail previews) @maxliefkes You've got 2 out of 4 and maybe Meta Live will work for you. If you press Play in the Main EPG you should get the Choose Stream dialog if there are some matches. If it has a single match or a Favourite match it will just play that. If you have Alternative Streams the Alternative Streams dialog will still come up after you select a new main stream. There is a Setting in Lab1 to append the Folder to the Channel name on Add Folder. If you're lucky it should still match the channel. It does for me. Pick your own background texture if you're using the solid colour option. I've added a Pick Texture/Image dialog with some selections from Pixabay.com. They might give you some inspiration. I'm on the lookout for other Image Search apis or Python modules if anyone knows of any. RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - maxliefkes - 2016-12-10 Incredible! thank you! RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - samueljones - 2016-12-11 @primaeval, its me again, thanks for this powerful tool, please I have a request for future. as you improve this addon please consider to let the user choose where they want the current bottom information to be. bottom or top. see below image to understand what i mean. If you can work out a better layout I'll see what I can do. Maybe it would work better if the time bar is smaller and just over the from-to time on the right. RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - primaeval - 2016-12-11 version 0.0.229 - timebar shrink @samueljones Try this. It is less obtrusive. RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - primaeval - 2016-12-11 version 0.0.230 - longer timebar for AM/PM RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - Hinkel - 2016-12-11 (2016-12-09, 22:18)moshoodo123 Wrote: @primaeval, your support is out of this world, I cant believe someone is doing all this for free. You are one of the best Dev have seen in a long time. +1 RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - primaeval - 2016-12-11 I'm not sure everyone knows about this but there is an option to refresh the addons.ini Addon Folders on startup or a timer. Settings \ Startup \ Background Update Service \ Update Addon Folders Too Then you can play the channel with the Play button and it will give you the Choose Stream dialog again. There is also a command to force an Addon Folders update manually: Settings \ Optional \ Refresh Addon Folders RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - gillmacca - 2016-12-11 I know we can search addons for programmes via the tv guide, but it there a way to search the guide itself (ideal for setting reminders) RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - Drt1989 - 2016-12-11 I really appreciate your work. Unfortunately I came to sit down and work on my setup but alas having other issues that I need to address before I can commit to using your guide full time. One strange thing - If my xmltv is remote, it won't load the EPG data. (tested on two hosts) If the same XML is selected locally it does. Ive tried resetting database etc... same result. Strange? [EDIT] It doesn't pre-fill the Search dialog yet. It will in the next version. Sorry I have moved away from the remote .xml for now, in the future it will become helpful but for now using local will suffice. However I have found another bug. I accidentally chose the wrong stream for a channel. Now I am unable to remove that stream. The only thing I notice is that this channel has no EPG data. I'm not able to do anything stream wise as everything other than lists, channels, favourites and quit is greyed out. *Edit manually filled in EPG with a random info and the options are available. |
