RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - tuckbodi - 2012-09-14 (2012-09-14, 09:54)MariusTh86 Wrote: I think I may be able to add the list to ViMM manually, but that won't be up to date forever. Yeah, IMDb Top 250 Rank and IMDb Rating do fluctuate, which is why I go in every now and then and run the Ratings Update Addon, which goes through my database and updates everything. I think if you could give it an initial 250 Rank, that'd be sweet but I'll also be running Ratings Update everytime to resync the entire 250 list. Just wanted to point out a bogus number was getting populated. Thx! RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - MariusTh86 - 2012-09-14 Well thanks for pointing it out, I'm finally getting an actual ranking rather then the weighted rating. This is the source I'm going to be using starting the next update: http://250.s-anand.net RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - artiss - 2012-09-14 Hi MariusTh86, I get the following error when trying to fetch the metadata for Spartan (2004): Nil object exception ERROR: 0 Stack: RaiseExceptionClass RaiseNilObjectException ViMMCore.FindImageFanart%o<FolderItem>%o<FolderItem> MovieSckt.GetMovieNFO%%o<MovieSckt>sb Scrape.MovieByID%%sb dlgProgress.dlgProgress.thrProgress_Run%%o<dlgProgress.dlgProgress>o<Thread> Delegate.IM_Invoke%%o<Thread> AddHandler.Stub.0%% threadRun CooperativeThread Any suggestions? ![]() Otherwise thanks for all the hard work and effort. Is there a way to batch download trailers or is that in a future release. RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - MariusTh86 - 2012-09-14 It's been randomly doing that, yeah... I believe I fixed it for the next release. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck with automatic trailer downloading yet, but I'll keep trying. ![]() RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - artiss - 2012-09-14 ![]() ![]() RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - sxczmnb - 2012-09-16 Hi MariusTh86, good job!!! thx!!! RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - Linusorg - 2012-09-17 Hi Marius, i found a small little error in regards to configuration of movie/ TV paths: if you attach an external drive to a nas system it gets a default name ( f.e. USBDisk1, etc. ) and normaly its not changeable, 2 nas with attached drives == 2 * USBDisk1 so it could happen that you map 2 drives with the same name. In OSX the first one will stay with USBDisk1, the secound get USBDisk1-2 if you map these drives ( real name are found in /Volumes ). in Finder displayname will stay on BOTH drives ( USBDisk1 ). Right now the mediamanager will look for displaynames and not for thereal volumenames, so basicly you lost one drive :-) would be nice if you could take a look at it. Regards Linus RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - MariusTh86 - 2012-09-17 hmm, that's gonna be difficult, especially since I don't have one of those drives to test with, and i'm not sure how to pick up on that RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - Linusorg - 2012-09-17 what about 2 USB Drives attached to mac mini and give them both the same name ? ( could be also 1 drive and one usb stick, or 2 usb sticks, just for scrapping ) ? RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - MariusTh86 - 2012-09-18 I think even XBMC would have troubles with that one, not being able to find the correct path. RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - Linusorg - 2012-09-18 Hi Marius, XBMC do not have a problem with that ( looks like it takes the real mapping names instead of the finder display names, the other mediamanager ( mediaelch ) seems to be doing the same. but as i said it would be nice if you can fix something here, if not users should create in a directory a collection of symbolic links to the volumes and point your software to the parent directory ( an additional step, but at least it works :-) ) RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - Vaneska - 2012-09-21 Hi Marius, here's an idea for your Roadmap. Would love a alternative "Poster View" for the ViMM (insp. by the new iTunes). If you ever need some graphic help, feel free to contact me. ![]() ![]() RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - MariusTh86 - 2012-09-21 That... looks absolutely stunning! And I find a really great idea! If I can make it... There will be a LOT of work involved in creating something similar, and I doubt i'd be able to do any of the impressive animations that really should go with it... I wonder if I can make it as an extra view mode, next to the current list mode... that way I at least wouldn't have to worry about porting over functionality from the list so much... or dumping all my old code... But the information display as shown in the preview would be... interesting... or pretty difficult, coding wise for me at least... possibly. ^^; Though if I can work it out, it would be sublime! I'm sure I'll try to work it out somehow. ![]() The graphics in the example are gorgeous in their simplicity, so that shouldn't be too hard to make, possibly a little harder to place, and I hope it'll run smoothly with those kind of graphical outputting needs... What I could really use is personalized icons, like the toolbar icons, which I like for the most part, but currently, they're picked up from random icon sets, the only ones I made myself is the App Icon, which i'm very proud of. ![]() And the one for the sets manager, but even there I used a DVD box template. As an currently jobless developer with a significant lack of icon design prowess, I don't really have any ability or income to make that happen though, so icon donations are also accepted and greatly appreciated! ![]() RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - steve1977 - 2012-09-22 (2012-09-13, 09:49)MariusTh86 Wrote:(2012-09-13, 01:37)steve1977 Wrote: One question - there used to be one function in EMM, which ViMM did not offer - something around picking up the type of media type from the file (1080p vs 720p, aspect ratio, bluray vs dvdrip). Has this been implemented with this new release yet? Thanks, this sounds great! Is there still any advantage / feature of of Ember over ViMM? I recall there was something about media info, plot, trailers, and others. But cannot remember. Please let me know. Any copyright violation, which would prevent this? First, this would increase your visibility having a (hopefully) highly ranked product in the Apple charts. Also, you could consider making it a paid app at one point of time. I am sure that we would all be willing to pay some amount. Let's assume 5,000 people paying €5 each would make a nice amount (plus gain the visibility and recognition). RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - steve1977 - 2012-09-22 And two more feature requests: 1) Any chance to read the "language" from MKV files and have a filter to sort by language (all movies not in English, etc.)? 2) Any chance to have ViMM print a list of all movies with name, year and resolution (1080p, 720p, SD) Thanks for considering! |
