RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - d!neX - 2012-10-04

Hi! Is there any possibility to disable the renaming of the VIDEO_TS folder? aTV Flash Black does not recognize <movie>.VIDEO_TS folders correctly. Thanks in advance Smile

hmmm yeah... i'm pretty sure it shouldn't have renamed it like that in the first place... ^^;
i'll fix it as soon as possible.

HI

Sorry if this has been asked before but a search didn't reveal anything.

Is it possible to view only un scraped movies or movies missing items like fanart or posters or even recently added movies. All I can find is sort by title, path rating etc. Im sure this was available in Vi 0.5.4.

Many thanks

T

You're right, those options aren't currently available, but i'm planning to include such filters eventually.
Though i'm also pretty sure that it wasn't available in 0.5 either.

You are right no filters however the newly added movies that haven't been scraped appear at the top of the list in 0.5

That's only because it was sorting by data that didn't exist when there wasn't an NFO file available, now it's filling in data as best as it can.

Edit: as long as you don't select sort by title, sort title or path, it should still sort NFO less files on top in 0.6.

Hi Marius.

Sorry to interrupt you, but i might have found the problem of the empty movie infos in the latest alpha.
I'm german, so i scrape german movies. Every movie with a 'Umlaut' like ä,ö,ü,ß in the title e. g. 'Herr der Ringe - Die Gefährten' comes to an error. After the successful scraping process the movie information in viMM is not shown and the movie in the left list is grey out. But when i examine the scraped files in the movie folder on the everything looks fine and is there - import in XBMC works perfect.

But because of the greyed out movie in the list it is not possible to create a movie set.

Hope this helps.

Efty

Hi Efty,

Unfortunately, I can't seem to recreate your circumstances, setting the database language to deutsch and a test movie with the name of the example in your post, I have no problems scraping for information.
I assume you're using the latest 0.6 alpha, could you show me the error message it gives? and/or the NFO file that doesn't work?

RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - efty.edge - 2012-10-08

Hi Marius.

Here is my nfo file of 'Herr der Ringe - Die Gefährten'.

nfo File

Maybe i should wait for the next viMM version, because i have the problems only with the latest. Confused
So don't waste your time with my problem ahead the next release. A quick look on my nfo might be enough. Blush

If there is a bug, I might as well fix it if I can. Wink

The NFO file seems to be in order, i don't suppose it corrects itself if you refresh the list. Does it show anything in the metadata editor or the 'movie information display' in the main window?
maybe you could send me a screenshot of ViMM and the folder structure.

RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - efty.edge - 2012-10-09

Hi Marius.

Sorry i’m at work so maybe it’s enough to describe the possible screenshot.

In the left column (movie list) every movie scraped correctly is blue. The movie ‚… - Die Gefährten‘ is grey, like the first time i refresh the list with the refresh button.

On the right side (movie details) i see the title, the poster, the logo, clearart and the clearart but no plot. When i try to edit the infos, every field is empty. I mean every – also the title. Creating a movie set with this movie is not possible because it’s grey.

When i examine the movie folder on the hdd, everything is there. Every image, extrafanart and the nfo-file. I think it’s only a refresh problem - under special circumstances. Undecided

RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - efty.edge - 2012-10-09

And again - Hi Marius.

Here are some screenshot from a try five minutes ago. It seems to affect also movies with and without 'Umlaut' (äöüß).

Here are the first Screenshot of the library view. Harry Potter Collection

And here with the window to edit the metadata. Edit Harry Potter

As you see also the movie 'Harry Potter und der Orden des Phoenix' is grey and his metadata in viMM are empty. I think its also affected beause Phoenix in german can be written Phönix and this is the name in the movie database. But again - everything on disc seems to be ok.

Hope again this helps.

Greetings
Efty

UPDATE: I might have found the problem. When i search for Harry Potter manually, i noticed that the title with 'Umlauts' are broken. Here is a screenshot.

RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - MariusTh86 - 2012-10-09

While the last screenshot is A problem, which I fixed just now, so thank you for pointing me to it!
It's was just a visual problem, and shouldn't have any impact after you scrape all the info, since it's a different process using the movie's ID instead of title from thereon.

So it's not likely "THE" problem, maybe you could show one of the affected movies' folder?

Just to make sure, i'm now including the first '.nfo' file a possibly good NFO file instead of going for a selectively named one.

Hi Marius,
thank you so much for the great work, I'm using 0.6 version to manage my movies (about 320 movies) and 0.5 to manage tv shows and anime.
While 0.6 version works like a charm, i am experiencing a problem loading my anime directory with latest 0.5 version.
The app starts, works without showing any window then crash with a generic nilObject error.
If I start the app in debug mode the main window shows up, but if I try to do anything on the anime section the crash happen again.
My anime are on separates directories on an afp share which i mount prior to open vimm.
Thank you again for great work and helping. Smile

RE: [MAC] ViMediaManager - Media Manager for Mac OS X! - MariusTh86 - 2012-10-10

Does opening the anime section itself crash the app? or doing stuff when you're already in the anime section?

You can try resetting the app by deleting the preference files of vimediamanager 0.5, which you can find on the following path:
/users/YOURNAME/Libarary/Preferences/com.vidalvanbergen.vimediamanager.plist
