RE: Music Pump Kodi Remote - AJRames - 2015-06-08

Hey all,

I'm using this app since a long time and I'm very satisfied with it.
Now I have changed to the Raspberry Pi 2 with Raspbian and Kodi.
I only changed the remote port from 8080 to 8888.

I don't know why, but the server symbol in Music Pump doesn't change the color from orange to green. But everything works fine.
Has anybody an Idea about this behaviour?

Thanks in advance!
Best regards,

AJ

RE: Music Pump Kodi Remote - Millencolin007 - 2015-06-08

You have forgotten to enable the tcp port which is used for notifications in Kodi.

In Kodi go to "system -> settings -> services -> Remote control"

and enable
"Allow remote control by programs on other systems"

Maybe you also have to reboot your PI for the icon to become green

RE: Music Pump Kodi Remote - Cyr-ius - 2015-06-15

Hi ,
I've a bug with new version , the stream video file is break down if path contains white space.
url encoding is incorrect , url contain a symbol +

url encoding :
/vfs/%2Fmedia%2FMediasShare%2FNos+Videos%2F%5BRec%5D%2F%5BRec%5D.avi

the folder "Nos Videos" contains a space character.

good url encoding must be:
/vfs/%2Fmedia%2FMediasShare%2FNos%20Videos%2F%5BRec%5D%2F%5BRec%5D.avi

But Your apps is always top

RE: Music Pump Kodi Remote - Millencolin007 - 2015-06-15

A space usually can be url encoded by a + or by %20. Both encodings should be valid.

I am able to play files which are encoded using a + sign like the following one.
Code:
http://kodi:8080/vfs/smb://XBMC/Media/TV Shows (new)/2 Broke Girls/Season 04/2.Broke.Girls.-.S04E01.-.And.the.Reality.Problem.avi

http://kodi:8080/vfs/smb%3A%2F%2FXBMC%2FMedia%2FTV+Shows+%28new%29%2F2+Broke+Girls%2FSeason+04%2F2.Broke.Girls.-.S04E01.-.And.the.Reality.Problem.avi

As a video player I am using MXPlayer. Which video player / kodi version (and os) are you using?

RE: Music Pump Kodi Remote - Tolriq - 2015-06-15

@millencolin : The problem is tied to Kodi on Linux as the libmicrohttpd version is not fixed and Kodi is build with tons of different versions.

Most recent builds of libmicrohttpd have deprecated the support for + and so needs to be encoded too as I've not found easy way to identify lib version and encoded will work on all installations.

RE: Music Pump Kodi Remote - Millencolin007 - 2015-06-15

@Tolriq: Thanks for the tip, this must be the issue

@Cyr-ius: Thanks for the logs

After some testing I was able to reproduce the issue on my raspberry pi... encoding the + into %20 fixes the streaming issue. I will prepare a new release.

Update: I have pushed a fix to google playstore

RE: Music Pump Kodi Remote - RockerC - 2015-06-16

This project should probably be renamed to meet the official trademark policy?

http://kodi.wiki/view/Official:Trademark_Policy

Maybe to only "Music Pump Remote" (so its without using "Kodi" or "XBMC" in the name at all). See this section:

http://kodi.wiki/view/Official:Trademark_Policy#Related_Software

Related Software

XBMC Foundation products are designed to be extended, and we recognize that community members writing add-ons and supplemental software need some way to identify the XBMC Foundation product to which their add-on/software pertain. Our main concern about add-ons and related software is that consumers not be confused as to whether they are official (meaning approved by XBMC Foundation) or not. To address that concern, we request that add-ons and supplemental software names not include, in whole or in part, the words "XBMC Foundation" or "Kodi" in a way that suggests a connection between XBMC Foundation and the add-on or software (e.g., "Frobnicator for Kodi," would be acceptable, but "Kodi Frobnicator" would not).

Personally, I don't think that the name suggests a connection between XBMC Foundation since the app's name is basically Music Pump with the remark that it is a Kodi Remote thus the name Music Pump Kodi Remote. I could change it to Music Pump Remote for Kodi.

If I ever get a request from a Kodi teammember to change the app's name I will do it but until then I will probably keep the current name.

Awesome sauce. The random feature works very nice thanks

Great remote for Kodi. Is the highlight button still there on the remote can't find it this was really useful when in file manager to select individual files. Thanks
